Is there a reason?

For some reason on non-racer cars, you add the aerodynamics onto the premium car on the front and the back including the extension (McLaren F1 for example). For some reason I can't tune in the front aerodynamics but the back aerodynamics. Is it programmed that way?

It seems the front is fixed and not adjustable, adding the parts just adds a fixed amount of DF, the angle of the rear wing is adjustable.

I guess they were fed up of the ridiculously high DF in GT4

Not even. The front aero, canards, and rear aero are all 100% cosmetic. The wing is the only part that changes downforce levels.

IYO. I found adding them has helped level out some cars that tilt back when airborne, maybe it's placebo, i haven't done any direct testing to confirm, have you any conclusive test data to confirm?

I think PD only gave us little to no front downforce just to get us driving the tuner cars and race cars more often. In GT4 there was almost no point to using half the race cars because you could just put maximum downforce on the road version and obliterate any laptime the race version could put down. Also it encourages us to use racing modified cars more often but the problem there is, we've only got 17 racing modified cars.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Hit the nail squarely on the head. IMO they also downgraded many cars HP levels, like the GTR's and Supra's to keep them from competing with the race cars/hyper cars.

PD we bought the game, now let us play it how we want to. I want front areo on my Prius!
