My current vehicles:
'95 Honda Civic Dx - I think there's a civic that generation, not that I would care
'05 Yamaha YZF-R6 - Umm, no, though there is one on Tourist Trophy.
'91 Toyota MR2 - Yep, there's quite a few mkii MR2's :)

My previous vehicles:
'91 Toyota MR2 Turbo - Yep, it's there.
'85 Mazda RX-7 GS - Nope, and WTF as well
'83 Mazda RX-7 LE - Nope, and I can't believe they didn't include the friggin FB!
'72 Datsun 240z - Yes! and what a car!
'90 Ford Escort - Don't know, don't care.
'91 Chevy Camaro - Yes, unfortunately.
'85 Honda CRX - Yes, I think.

I was actually invited to a GT4 photoshoot in Detroit MI back in January of 2004. A friend of mine working for Ford SVT was coordinating with a PD team and they had a whole shopping list of cars they wanted to see. At the time I had a 1989 Taurus SHO that I'd restored; they wanted all three generations of the SHO (89-91, 92-95, 96-99) for the game and since the older ones were hard to find in good, relatively stock condition I got the call. Unfortunately my car was in winter storage at the time, but I made a couple calls to some other SHO owners I knew and got them involved.

In short, there was a whole pile of cars at this photo shoot that PD wanted for the game; everything from M plate prototypes, custom cars and a bunch of older Fords, including the first and second generation SHO. PD made a big stink about needing these cars, they got them all in one spot, and then only a couple at that particular meet made it to the final product... the Ford GT (big surprise) and the 96-99 SHO, which in the SHO world is actually the slowest/least exciting of the bunch.

Once I talked to my friends who made it to the photoshoot with their cars I was REALLY regretting not hauling my car out of storage and taking it across the state to be in the game. Not only would my model of car had been in the game, but the "virtual" version would have been built from my exact car! But, as the release of the game drew closer and the car lists finally became known I was happy with my decision, and supremely pissed at PD. Yes, the creator of the game is based in Japan, but in a game that's supposed to chronicle the history of the automobile and feature a good variety of performance/historically significant cars worldwide, they really have no clue of the automotive world outside of Japan. I mean really... the fuel injected 57 Chevy is an absolute American ICON, Australian automotive history is completely ignored, famous American tuners like Hennesy and Lingenfelter--who have been building 600-800hp street legal 'vettes and vipers for years--go without so much as a nod, and instead we get Jay Leno's tank car, a generic 62 Buick and 20 different versions of an R34 Skyline. Ok... rant off.

So no, my car isn't in the game. But my actual car was pretty damn close to being in the game :D

Lucky you... Yeah, GT did give a lot of us the shaft in the car selection... I imagine they thought the V8 SHO would be a faster car... yeah right... with that damn transmission.

They did the same thing to my beloved Proty... :grumpy:

well there is an escort in the game, but not one like my moms 1997 ford escort:

its the same color and rims.

and my dads chevrolet malibu isnt in the game either:
2002 chevrolet malibu, but we bought new rims, and muffler tip for it.

 Word.

I've got an uncle with an XJR... wish they'd put that in instead of the S Type R. While the S Type R is probably a better car, there's no doubt as to which is better looking. :D

I've run up against one of those 1800 GSR Mitsubishi's at a track meet... but this one was special... it was an original Ralliart Works car... 2 liter turbo, and fully flared body work. The guy spent a lot buying the thing, then he went and converted it to a road car. Awesome to watch.

Well no C-Classes or ZT-Ts in GT4. But my mom used to own Citroen C3 Pluriel 1.4 in orange and there's a non-convertible C3 in GT4, if that counts

:) Nearest i get to a car on gt is my wifes blue lupo, only hers is a tdi but same wheels and everything. I have a 105e anglia racing car and although it should be there pd seem to have over looked it:grumpy:

Seems like PD is not going to put my moms car into GT5,6 or 7 cause it is only a Mercedes ML350, or maybe when the ML63 AMG comes out then they will have it in the game :dopey:

The Super V8? The extended version? Yeah, that would be nice... and the weight penalty is relatively tiny for the extra length. I'm willing to bet it'd be a fun "drift" car with all that heft...

No, my ride isn't and I think its kinda lame since it would be a great car to have and they do have the years right after mine.

Here's a pick of my ride and my previous rides.

'99 M3
285+ hp, 5.0 seconds flat 0-60, 48K miles.
Super Sprint exhaust, cold air induction, all white euro signal lights, xenon headlights, 2000 watt stereo system.
AC Schnitzer parts: Short throw shifter, racing pedals, strut tower braces, 18" TypeII rims with Falken low profile ZR tires.

2003 Redline Nissan 350Z Performance
In real life and in the virtual world too:D

About the Ferrari, did you know that the Subaru WRX Sti and Lancer EVO didn't start selling until GT used it in Gran Turismo 2? Ferrari has it's contract to EA Sports, but that contract is going to end sooner or later and you can bet all those good car manufacturers will quickly run to GT - to get their cars sold:)

👍 '92 Honda Prelude VTEC, in burgundy. What you don't get in the game is the change in engine note at 5,200rpm which IRL puts a grin on my face every time! :) It only cost me £2000 with 50,000m on the clock, so trebles all round.

Back in 1988 I was lucky enough to get a white 1976 Alfa Romeo 1600GT Junior which had a 2 litre lump under the bonnet. This was basically the same body (though without the ally doors and bonnet) as the '65 GTA in the game. and from the back it looks identical. They'd tidied up the front by then, though.

RWD Alfas back then had very light, delicate steering, and well tied down back ends. The back would push out under power, but in a temptingly controlled fashion: a quarter turn of opposite lock would be all you needed to bring it back into line.

It's the car I would most want again in a "perfect world".

Hmm so your dad owns a Murcielago eh?

Lol, yes it's called a Gallardo and no, my pop owns it, not my dad:tup:

He purchased it awhile ago (I think) from Zagame Melbourne if you wanted to know:tup:

The car's in GT4, the but the real-life engine is in another GT4 car (the Supra SZ-R).

Edit:

My 1st car, an '88 Honda Accord, made it into the game, but it had 2 more doors than the GT4 version.
My 2nd car, an '90 Eagle Talon TSi, didn't make it; though for some reason PD chose the front-wheel drive, slower version of this car into the game.
My 3rd car, a '95 Dodge Neon 4-door Highline, was in GT2, but in ACR form, and with about 16 less ponies.
My 4th car, a '93 Toyota Corolla, didn't quite make it into GT4, as per a pervious post of mine.

I'll do the math:

'02 Toyota Corolla Runx w/beige paint - 180hp motor + (AE86 motor - 20hp) - 2 gears - hatchback + trunk lid - (headlights + tail lights) + (AE101 headlights + tail lights) - S2 tires + N1 tires + 9 years older + can buy it in the 90's Used Lot.

Of course, I'm driving, instead of the AI, so raise that equation by an exponent of 2.

Thus, my car is in the game.
