Is your car in GT4?

Just had to QUOTE this to drool over it. I sure as hell want one but you can't find them out in Asia. (At least not at a reasonable price...)

McLaren F1GTR
You serious?!

Altimas are very common here in the states.
Altimas are Japanese, too. Strange why it wouldn't make it in the game.

Just had to quote that. The Maxima version is sold in Asia, but AFAIK, the Altima and Maxima are a purely Nissan of North America Development. That's why you see neither in the game, even though the Altima would wipe the floor with the other 3 liter plus front wheel drivers (Honda Accord V6 Coupe, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT (new), Peugot 406 V6). Nor do you see the Sentra, as they don't currently have a "hot" edition of the 'Bluebird' in Japan... Nor the X-Trail, which is strange, as it does come in 276hp SR20VET AWD trim... okay, I'll stop now.

Are you just whining because PD doesn't cater specifically for you?

 That's what forums are for...

My exact car isn't in the game, it's this:
380665_8_full.jpg

Ford Lynx RS, but it's really a Ford Laser (or Tierra) depending on who you ask. But it's based on this:

380665_25_full.jpg

Mazda Protege MP3 (US)
(Which has a bespoke suspension, but the same engine hardware...)

which isn't in the game either, but is based on this:

380665_72_full.jpg

Mazda Familia Sport 2.0
(Which looks exactly the same, but has a different suspension package, and an engine with 25 more horses, less torque... and, by the way, it's a few tenths SLOWER than the American version... weird, and has a stupid 4-speed tranny.)

...I just change the tranny and rims, and pretend I'm driving my car... with an ass-lift.

Not quite...

I've got a 1985 Honda City Pro T (50bhp) compared to GT4's 1983 Honda City Turbo II (110bhp).

Exactly the same thing as comparing a Porsche 911 Carrera to a Porsche 911 Turbo.

Nope, as of now I drive my parents minivan, which is a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD with the 3.8L engine, and the closest thing to a minivan there is in the game is the Honda Odyessy.

Being a large, heavy, American minivan, I doubt PD will ever put it into the GT series in the future.

Unfortunately my car isn't represented. :indiff:

Maserati 420Si Biturbo (1988) 👍

It's a shame, but it would be nice to have Maserati, Ferrari and Porsche...

cheers

My real life car is a TVR Tamora in reflex green (british racing green/purple depending upon the sunlight).

A bit faster (in std spec) than in GT4 but isn't that the same for most non-Japanese cars ??

Steven

Not only is my car in the game, but GT1 is where I first learned of this car and the reason I get to drive it today!

'97 Acura Integra Type R

👍

GT4 does feature the car I own, except its much better in real life. It's an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. It's the reason I got GT4 in the first place. Only thing is the gear ratios are wrong in the game. Can't even reset them to the correct values with the custom gear box. No matter, I still enjoy driving it.

Oh no, a pignose owner! :) Yup, PD just stuck 240SX badges on a JDM S13 for the American versions. They did the same on the S14 240SX too.
i dont recall having a 240SX in the game, there all 2.0 litre in the game right?

The NTSC (US) version Silvias and 180sx's were renamed to 240sx, even though the 2.0L engine (SR20) remains. PAL versions were renamed to 200sx.

to answer the question .. :"Almost ..."

I dri(o)ve a '85 Renault 5 GT Turbo 1.4 litre 8valve turbo 115HP

specs : topspeed : around 200km/h (120mph) , 0-60 (0-100km/h) : 7.6s

the Renault 5 Turbo IS in the game but that is the rearengined, rearwheeldrive version with 160HP , i only have FF ...

and pics : well , check http://users.telenet.be/renault5gtt/autoverkoop.html

by the way : the car is for sale now ...:guilty:

I was actually invited to a GT4 photoshoot in Detroit MI back in January of 2004. A friend of mine working for Ford SVT was coordinating with a PD team and they had a whole shopping list of cars they wanted to see. At the time I had a 1989 Taurus SHO that I'd restored; they wanted all three generations of the SHO (89-91, 92-95, 96-99) for the game and since the older ones were hard to find in good, relatively stock condition I got the call. Unfortunately my car was in winter storage at the time, but I made a couple calls to some other SHO owners I knew and got them involved.

In short, there was a whole pile of cars at this photo shoot that PD wanted for the game; everything from M plate prototypes, custom cars and a bunch of older Fords, including the first and second generation SHO. PD made a big stink about needing these cars, they got them all in one spot, and then only a couple at that particular meet made it to the final product... the Ford GT (big surprise) and the 96-99 SHO, which in the SHO world is actually the slowest/least exciting of the bunch.

Once I talked to my friends who made it to the photoshoot with their cars I was REALLY regretting not hauling my car out of storage and taking it across the state to be in the game. Not only would my model of car had been in the game, but the "virtual" version would have been built from my exact car! But, as the release of the game drew closer and the car lists finally became known I was happy with my decision, and supremely pissed at PD. Yes, the creator of the game is based in Japan, but in a game that's supposed to chronicle the history of the automobile and feature a good variety of performance/historically significant cars worldwide, they really have no clue of the automotive world outside of Japan. I mean really... the fuel injected 57 Chevy is an absolute American ICON, Australian automotive history is completely ignored, famous American tuners like Hennesy and Lingenfelter--who have been building 600-800hp street legal 'vettes and vipers for years--go without so much as a nod, and instead we get Jay Leno's tank car, a generic 62 Buick and 20 different versions of an R34 Skyline. Ok... rant off.

So no, my car isn't in the game. But my actual car was pretty damn close to being in the game :D

How much for the GT Turbo?

They don't have:

Any car on the AE82 Platform
Any Chevrolet Nova, X-body or Chevy II,

So, they don't have:

My car, an AE82 Chevrolet Nova, 1988 Model.

for the first time they got 91 Torino Red CRX (GT 1,2 had Milano Red non metallic)
I'll try to do Photo mode pic that matches my avatar

My car is in there, first game the Mazda Protege has been in. Same year as mine too. They put the JDM version in the NTSC game though. The regular Protege does not come stock with a front bumper with the big round fog lights, only the Protege 5 and MAZDASPEED Protege come with those. Same goes for the side skirts, the headlights (North American Protege has a single hi/lo bulb), and it's been given more power in the game than the North American version of the car.

Other than that, it's my car, lol.

Well . . . they have a '49 Beetle hardtop and a '68 Karmann Ghia.

Add the two together and you have my 1979 Super Beetle Convertible?! Well, sorta kind of not really. I mean the age gap between each my Beetle and the one in the game is ridiculous. And even the Ghia which is only 11 years older is still drastically behind mine.

Still no fuel injection . . . still no mcpherson struts . . . and still no power. Well . . i guess that has always been true.

ving
only a race version... I have an astra

what sort? holden, vauxhall, opel

they dont have mitsubishi motors australia in gt4 so no magna and even if there were, its unlikely it would be 1992 magna tr wagon

not much holdens either, no rodeo turbo deisel ute
