It has been 5 years since the release of GT4

How realistic are the physics in GT4 compared to GT5P or Forza 3? I'm thinking about playing it again to warm up for GT5, but I don't want it to make my driving skills worse.

They're certainly far more realistic than Forza's, for a start. In my opinion, they feel pretty much on a par with Prologue's Standard physics, so I don't see any problems there. :)

Youre kidding right? The physics in Forza 3 are miles ahead of GT4. I hate when the threads become littered with false information.

Away from that matter... When GT4 was released in 2004, was the Mitsubishi Eclipse 2006 in there? My version is a 2006.

Is there any difference between the first GT4 version, between the greatest hits version?

I always feel like playing it but I get too lazy. I'm probably gonna play it today, later on. I just use it to run at the Nurburgring with random cars.

"False information?" Opinions aren't information. Don't tell me you're taken in by Greenawalt's 🤬 regarding physics?

That's what I do b, every new\used car i get automatically gets 40k on the speedo, 2 laps is enough to see what its made of.

GT4 as a whole, I could clock something like 1000km per week with variable time spent playing depending on the cars used.

I've also taken to cruising, taking a car on El Capitan or Tokyo or any city\driving road and just cruise in one lane, it opens up a new challenge to take the turn as fast as possible in the same lane.

Same for Rally courses, Swiss Alps, used to hate it(because of its mario kart like width), until recently i found out on the non reverse layout if you hug the right lane and stick to it it makes a very decent little stage. They should have just cut 4\5ths of the road out and left a 1 1\2 car lane.

Before my save file corrupted a few years ago, I was around 70% done. Just recently I've decided to start it again before GT5 arrives. Only 3.8% so far but I'm getting there

This may be stupid, but... who decides to start the long game all over again, when you are somewhere in the middle of the 100% completion?

I brought a new copy of GT4 over the weekend and as my save had long since been deleted, I’ve started again.

I’m now just a fraction under 20% completion and loving this game again.
After going back to GT2 last month and now GT4, I’m surprised how easy the licence tests are. When I was a kid with GT2 & a teenager with GT4, I could never do the last few groups and it was always a task to save up to buy a new car.
Now I’m breezing through in my spare time and the cars are coming to me as I complete the races.

I would argue GT4 is still the best racing game ever made. Well, I’ve still got a massive soft spot for Outrun 2 & Ridge Racer Type 4!

Wow I thought I was the only one who decided to play it again. I must admit I've never gotten 100% and I really want to. This summer might be my only chance so I'd better get moving. :)

Haven't touched it in like a year and a half now. Whenever the last SFGTP Meet up that I attended was. I have to say in some ways I miss it and others I don't. But it' still one of my favorite games of all time.

I was surprised about this when I started it up again. I'm breezing through the S license, even though I had so, so much trouble with it years ago :ouch:

i just started it agaain today! never had 100%, so i'm gonna try and get it before gt5 lol. i'm 7% through atm, brill game.

5 years? WOW! I finally got around to playing GT3 again (was at ~95%) after at least 2 years without GT3/4 and as soon as I get 100% I'm going to finish GT4 (I think I'm at 99.6%) and then I'll probably restart GT4 while I wait for GT5 to come out so I can finally buy a PS3.

I've been feeling nostalgic of late and I really enjoyed starting GT3/4 from scratch and slowly getting better/cooler/faster cars and now I want to do it again. Don't have the free time like I used to though.

I played it a few nights a few weeks ago to revisit the licenses (been doing it with all previous full GT's). Forgot how easy they are; and how hair-pulling the Rally tests are (and those damned Coffee Breaks). My main save (my only real one after all these years) still sits at 99.8%. Despite getting it on release day. I have one of the Sarthe endurances left and B-Spec Bob is an utter moron no matter which car I give him; I'll wake up the next day to be laps down despite a faster car. I can't be bothered to do the whole race myself, so it sits there.

Maybe for the sake of it, I'll finally push myself to do it before GT5.

I play GT4 on a regular basis, 3-5 times a week. I'm 89.xx% completion. However, i'm just stuck on the special conditions events. I suck as a rally driver. Big time.

For the first time since I bought the game in '05, I've used a Driving Force Pro. I will never go back to a DualShock 2 again. What the hell have I been doing all this time???

5 Years but when I get bored other games, I can play this game more and more.
Why? The answer is "Do you ever ride all of this cars and tuned all of it?
If not ,we can play this game until GT5 Real Driving Simulation released.

I'm playing it right now. For the last week i have been tuning all the hondas to max for no reason. BTW How many cars are in the game? I have 720 with only 1 model of each car is that all of them?

It has been a few years since I last played. Found it harder and harder with work demands and the wheel I was using started to malfunction (brake would get stuck) so one day I stopped playing. About 1 year ago I traded the PS2 and all the games for a gift card for my nephew at GameTraders...

Just came to GTPlanet today to see if GT5 had actually been released... seems it hasn't yet.

I can't play it. My PS3 won't play PS2 games and I don't have the PS2 console any more. It's no real loss with GT4 since I only thought it was decent, but I would really like to play GT3 because that's been my favourite one out of the whole series. I also wish I could go back to GT and GT2 but since my PS3 won't play those either I'm sorta stuck.

Can't play it because my ps2 won't play gt4.
