Maybe locations refers to countries or something and so you can have 3 or 4 tracks in each location (country)? Could that be it? I agree, 20ish tracks would be very dissapointing.

This is exactly what i was thinking. I would be willing to bet that this is the case. It makes perfect sense. 20 plus locations from around the world featuring 60 plus tracks and variations. When you think about the different countries or regions how many different tracks are there in any one particular area.

The translation never mentioned anything about world wide locations, just 20 tracks, 60 variations, personally I think 60 variations is fine. Seriously peope if you have GT4, count the different amount of tracks, excluding variations.

37.

And its says more than 20 tracks, seeing as nascar and wrc are in now, could be more like.. 23-30.

They're going to want to make money on DLC.

http://multiplayer.it/video/gran-tu...rismo-videointervista-a-kazunori-yamauchi.lo/

he told about damage that will change the driveability of the car...and many people could and many could not appreciate this.. I appreciate:)...
he told that gt will run at 1080p at 60fps surely..
he will speak about new brands car not now but further, i suppose tgs...
he told that will be not so different from gtmobile about challenge and races mode..
he told that there WOULD BE a worldwide release...its not sure about it at 100%...

I hope that he's not hinting that mission races will become more prominent. Keep mission races similar to GT4, it's own mission hall. My own personal preference would be to have the lap counts increased in all races, including "Sunday Cup", that way things such as tyre wear & fuel consumption can play a bigger factor. Last to first in one lap is fun, but it's not what I expect from a race.

Want more laps. mission fatigue:)

Assuming that the leaked info wasn't pulled because:

a) It was worded incorrectly and gave a wrong meaning
b) Is supposed to go with an announcement that explains something we don't know that will make it make sense
c) It wasn't just marketing tactics to get people hyped and crazed and then go "Look we have 80 tracks, not 20 like you thought!" and everyone goes  and buys their game.

We already know that leaked info was correct. KY said so himself.

And we also know why it was pulled. Because it was shown ahead of schedule. Again straight from KY himself.

True, that's undoubtedly why there are so few cars mentioned in GT5. Err... wait a minute...

And the reason I chide about this is because, well, for one thing Polyphony isn't Microsoft. For another, tracks are the hardest thing to incorporate into a racing game. Cars are easy. But the track packs for Forza 2 are utterly worthless except for time trials and online racing. And note that not everyone is going to live online, even many of us with broadband. I expect to be spending most of my time in single player races, as will most buyers.

Yep, i hate fixed schedules for racing games and i want to keep the races on my pace.
Im more an offline driver.

So he told that the info was true. Ok, we have 1000 cars. And I remember when I read the info from GT official website, the translation at GTPlanet was: 60 tracks confirmed and 20 to confirm. But it hasn't a lot of sence.

no no no no what have you people translating with???

do you really think that PD would use a lot of money to make a game with 1000 cars but only 20 tracks???

Microsft? Didn't even mention that.

GT:HD kinda proves my point, all that aside, yes PD aren't greedy, because they don't have to be. But the likelihood is that we will see DLC tracks, cars.

By the way, cars aren't easy to incorporate, compared to tracks then maybe.

I mention MS because they, along with EA, are about the worst at nickle, diming and overcharging their buyers. Suppose one of those two companies made GT5 and had 1000 cars and 100 track assets ready. EA has proven to hold content back and charge for it, sometimes even at release! In fact, they've been shown to have the content on the disc, and what you buy is a patch to unlock the content. And MS pricing is sometimes comparable to other companies, but other times is atrocious. The hand controller price is okay, but compare 360 hard drive or other accessory cost.

We would probably have been happy with 600 cars in GT5, seeing as some of us were guessing between 450 and 150! The fact that GT Mobile is getting 800 cars and GT5 1000 is an indication that SONY is more concerned about their reputation in the gaming community than yen counting. This is certainly true with Kazunori-dono.

The Prologue deal may also be an indication of what we can look forward to with GT5 DLC, and I agree with you, more than likely we'll get some. I'm not sure what you're getting at with GT HD, as it was free. But with Prologue, for $40, we got 37 cars, I believe, and 5 tracks with one variation totaling 10 race courses. With free DLC, that was increased to 73 (?) cars and 6 tracks, at least here in the states, and now of course it's $20. This may be roughly what we're looking at for GT5 downlodables.

As for car downloads being hard to incorporate into a game, I'm not sure I follow you. In Forza 2, when you buy a car or track pack, they show up in the dealerships and track lists. But the bots can't race on DLC tracks, making them worthless except for online racing or time trials. The tracks won't show up in single player Career Mode at all. I'm hoping this isn't the case in F3 and GT5, although I will be spending some of my time online in GT5 as I did in Prologue.

Ok we are on the same terms because I agree that EA, and Microsft do take peope for fools, I have NFS undercover, and if you can't afford a car with ingame credits, they give you the option to my pay with real money, It even works with car modifications! but yes, they have DLC that is released too early on purpose, I don't think PD will con us like that.

But yea what I meant by GT;HD is that the original idea of the game was to bring us a HD version of GT4 and make us by cars with our own money, as if it were a GT itunes.

An I misunderstood what you meant by incorparating car into a game, I thought you meant in terms of car modeling and rendering.

I think that DLC tracks should come with extra events. Something like that.

Yeah so "being pulled ahead of schedule" could still tie in with exactly what I said with point 2.

Like how it means "20 world locations" instead of 20 tracks like other people have hypothesised. I can 100% say that GT5 will not ship with 20 tracks. That's just idiotic to even believe that.

Oh my gawd... I forgot that! I also forgot about the original concept of GT HD, since it died a quick death.

I think that DLC tracks should come with extra events. Something like that.
That would actually be fine. I am hoping though that PD is planning the track DLC well in advance and integrates itself seamlessly into the game, meaning new events would appear and race series would have new tracks show up in the list. Either that, or grayed out "Under Construction" spots would be here and there through the game, as a kind of heavy hint that DLC is forthcoming at some point.
