That's dumb. I guess they're operating like Forza Horizons DLC model by putting in some new and some old. Annoying thinking that those cars were already modeled for FM5
I'm thinking the same way. I just love the Z so much that I overlooked that without thinking haha. That would have definitely been an impulse buy if I had the game.

So, out of all the cars they could release at the moment they give two cars that are going to cost a crap-load of in-game money despite having the issues with not being able to earn the money to guy them? Interesting.

So many assumptions in this post.

I'm sitting on 6.8 million credits as of today.

I just raced for 3 hours and earned 1,000,000+ credits. I have no idea what game you're playing where you can't earn the money to buy cars.

3 Hours? I can earn 1 million credits in GT6 in 30 minutes. Clearly when the two games decided to fix the "cost of cars vs. credits earned" issue, PD actually fixed...although, didn't Turn10 lower the prices of cars? What's the most expensive car now?

From what I get from you is, GT6 throws money at you but has cars maxing out at 20mil. FM5, while you cant acquire money as fast as GT6, the most expensive car is way less then half the price of that of GT6.

Neither are that bad.

Fantastic DLC choices, only one I could car less about is the Impala but the Caterham I was really hoping to see. I hope it's a little more driveable than the Ariel Atom V8, as that thing is a freaking handful (need to spend an hour or so trying to cure massive oversteer either on or off the thottle).

Really, just two mil? Thats crazy. I knew it was low, but didnt think it was that low.
Yeah, they really slashed prices. It's kind of nice, but I see myself owning every car before long.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I hate that car! It's near impossible to keep it under control!

Yeah there has got to be a way to curb that though - I haven't spent very much time tuning it, just slapped a base one on it and it didn't help much. Trust me, there is a magic combination that will make that car be fun to drive, I just haven't hit on one yet. It is a workout though with FFB @ 100% :D

Finally, the day has come where I can drive a Birdcage in a driving game!

Words can't express how overjoyed I am now.

I'll be replicating the low-powered Monaco special on that Caterham tonight. Yummy.

Really chuffed about the Escort's return, the A45 and the whitewalls on the Impala.

You can't compare those games like that, because the economy are different.
Most expensive car in Forza 5 (Lotus F1): 6.000.000
Most expensive cars in GT6: 20.000.000

Edit: Is the new price (2.000.000) of the F1 Lotus correct? http://www.kudosprime.com/f5/car_sheet.php?id=140

no more 6 million dollar cars in FM5, so there is no reason to complain about not being abbe to earn enough in that game.

I agree that there are cars in this DLC (among hundreds of others from past Forza titles) that should've been in FM5 from the get-go, but I think it's not laziness on Turn 10's part entirely. Because Forza 5 is using a new engine (for the stunning graphics and physics), I'd assume they'd have to update or rebuild certain assets (especially for FM5's level of detail) from Forzas 2-3 (that never got properly updated/rebuilt from that game to 4/Horizon). I think that's a big part of the reason why we're seeing these cars from FM past in the newer DLC.

The update is now live. I had to restart my Xbox and go into FM5 for it to recognize the update (just under 600MB).

The Birdcage is 1.54 million, though I'm reading that T10 will be giving this away for free (to those that purchased the DLC of course).

There is a point that it becomes pointless. It is so easy to earn money in GT6 that it means nothing, I spend without feeling I need to conserve. There must be some effort expelled to make acquired cars/parts seem valuable.

Exactly. Any game can throw money at you, but it takes real effort to make it achievable and rewarding at the same time.

Also, racing online this early with DLC that's...unusually underadvertised is pretty fun. Every other person I drive by has the same reaction. "Whoa, what the hell is that? It's awesome!"

I think FM4 threw money at you like crazy. Good at painting? here's a lot of money. Oh your a salesmen? here's a lot of money. Oh your a good racer? here's a lot of money. I'm surprised that you didnt get money for taking photos.

Well, actually, you can make money off photos, although its more ran by the community rather then staff. Some offering millions just for entering.

Coming from GT the FM4 economy seemed a bit saturated, money for nothing and parts for free.

And that's not even mentioning the fact that you get many of the 1,000,000CR+ cars as driver level rewards.

I honestly wasn't a big fan of it. Sorta killed my interest when I already had all the cars I wanted from the game before I even reached Level 50. Spent the rest of my time taking advantage of free upgrades and seeing how silly I could get with Tag cars.
