Japan Manufacturing Competition!!

So now this is basically and unlimited comp. With a 500,000 limit I could run the Big Aston Vantage or the Cobra.
I liked the 200,000 limit better. If you can't build a beast with 200,000 why bother?
There is little challenge in picking up a Lotus 350 and putting an unlimited amount of money in it to make it fast...unless you impose an engine displacement limit or a HP limit.
Granted they aren't Japanese cars, but I am using them as an example only.

Further, it is challenging when you have to decide whether to buy the stage 3 turbo or the T8 tires.
IMHO.

I'll take a crack at this with a FR, MR, and 4WD and post in a couple of days. Prolly, not before Wednesday.

Please see the last two lines of post #31

My concentration is a bit off since my dad died, but I have run this in a FR car. Toyota Supra RZ, cause I thought I would be pretty challenging.
I ran It in 1:31.748
It cost 197,600, with 549HP, and a 2.45 power to weight ratio.

Will run the NSX and R34 Skyline at a later date.
If I get a "wild hair" I may put in some more laps on the Toyo and see if I can't lower that time.

A strategy I have used in the past is to build 2 cars. One I build for finesse. The other is a beast. I then run both cars to see what I can do.

I have also run this in a Skyline and an NSX (which was slow) I may have to re-think my build-up with the NSX.
The Skyline ran 1:33.128. It was a beast to handle.
I think with some patience, which is in short supply for me at this time I can probably knock the 1/2 second off to beat GT40s time.

I know this is off the topic but my nissan Skyline R33 Nismo 400R, beat a R390 Race Car, Pagani Zonda Race Car, GT40 Race Car(sorry GT40racer), Esperante GT-1, and Gillet Vertigo Race Car, on Cote D' Azur no less. oh and im gonna race with my Nismo 400R ok? Oh and GT40racer please get online so i can talk to you.

Remember that only gives you 80,000 to play with for mods.
But on the other hand you are starting with almost 400 HP out of the box.:D
I may just go FR, cause the 4WD and the MR aren't making me happy with their handling.
I may also throw in my Fave, the RX-7 and perhaps an S2k.
I'm not off till weds. So it will have to wait until then.

Math recheck pleez.

30,000 X 4 has always equalled 120,000.

Subtract from 200,000 and you get 80,000.

's okay.
I have been running slowly in the NSX and the R-34 because I built, and usually build for handling.
Then I worry about making power. With 80,000. It would be good tires, full-race suspension, full race or semi-race tranny.
Then I would look for power.

The only big issues are the ones that can't be undone
Weight reduction1,000 to 1200/ 5500/20k-26k
Port/polish 5500
Increase displacement 8000
balance 12000
The rest, just buy a skyline and go to the parts shop and write down what stuff costs. The parts should be about the same prices.

Post #45 has a skyline time.
The R 34 is not the greatest handling thing around.
May have to go with a R32 or R33.
Check back on Wednesday.
