I use my tuned Lancer EX Turbo '83 and that does decently. 3rd on Tsuksba, 1st on Deep Forest and Strathe and I still have to do London and Mt. Aso.
Done Le sarthe twice in a row with a Celica 2000GT-four '86..386pp
im on 110% but its still paying out 691,361 cr per win!
Man I need to get that car. Roadster isn't working for me, I need a GTS-T...
Anybody got any idea what the best car may be for these events I have to admit my garage isn't really stacked out with 80s Japanese cars
I found an Isuzu concept in my premium garage & detuned to 420pp & caught the Miata on the back straight on last lap of Tuskuba .Nice car
Ozi
My modded to 420pp and tuned MR2 1600 G-limited is running 1:08.002 - 1:08.8xx at Tsukuba. My best was +7.082 behind the leader.
Anyone having any luck with this car? Average lap times?
ozirulesAs I have said before , the 89 Isuzu concept from the dealership, detuned & std suspen & diff will do high 1.06s even for a mug driver like me .
Ozi
I find it ironic that people complain about these events being too easy and that PD should make them harder and now when PD seemingly make them harder, some of those very same people are now complaining because they can't win the events, lol. Careful what you wish for.

VTiRojYes the MX-5 is unbeatable at Tsukuba
These events aren't even that hard. Yes the MX-5 is unbeatable at Tsukuba and London, but all you have to do is cycle the starting grid until there's no MX-5.
Personally I had a great time trying to catch the leading AE86 on Tsukuba with my Supra. It's challenging but fair.
I'd guess most people are after a difficult race that involves a standing start and battling for position, rather than dominating 10 AI cars in 1-2 laps and then chasing 1 single car that's a further 25 seconds ahead for another 2-3 laps.

I agree, I want a challenge but WHY couldn't they have put qualifying in GT5 instead of always starting in last and trying to catch a car that's 30 seconds ahead in 5 laps or less. It would be a lot more fun to battle with evenly matched cars instead of just having to always chase down a car that's way out front and then when you catch them they just give up.

+1 I love the GT series and this has been the same since GT1. One of the biggest improvements PD could make is to group the AI cars together in packs through the field and actually have the AI pass each other. I would rather race five or six cars side by side for a tough finish than have to chase one rabbit.
