I see Group A is up to 16 entries, which is great news. But...think of the testers...
16 cars x 2 tracks x 5 laps (and many testers will do more laps, to ensure they have got the best time out of the car) is quite a commitment. If there is a fair way of splitting into subgroups for testings, this would encourage people who want to help out testing but are daunted by the workload it now involves.

ok, so,

say the 490pp average lap on Tsukuba is 1:05, Suzuka is 2:25 then it would be under 5 hours (4hours 40ish) on course to test all cars + load times of 5 hours:lol:

but seriously probably take 8 hours ish including load times at this stage....if you test them as they become posted it's not a problem, for all three classes just under a day of game time spread out accross the lead up to deadline.

the thing is I might have to do it to Group B soon as well then since there 13 tunes for that.. and then we just have a great big mess of groups that, sorry to say this, but i dont want to have to deal with. Because we then have to have testers resign up into which group they want to test, and some testers want to test all the cars (like myself) so it wont fix the problem completely.

What ever you do I'm testing all of the 490pp upto when it hits 30 entries...........

Maybe to save massive hassel have a deadline for entry or when it gets to 20 per class it's capped for tuners..... we may have to consider some careful people management as these competitions grow in popularity

Krenkme PM sent with prelim times and my personal test result for your car...should give you a pretty good gauge on what it can do.

Nomis, quit complaining, I do these Marathon testing runs everytime I test for shootouts! :P I tested for the 450PP Roadster shootout, 18 cars in 2 hours. Beat that!

Maybe these events could have some casual testing. Some people could test a smaller selection of cars of their choice and make a post of results with comments and times just like normal and have them listed and linked in the main post, just wouldn't use their times to calculate final results because they're incomplete.

I didn't sign to test for round1 in that last even, but I did drive some of the tunes casually. The tuners seem to like feedback, so would it hurt to allow some casual testing in some form?

That is fine there is nothing against testing some cars and giving feed back, but since their are prized involed and stuff i have to be more strict about the groups breaking up.

Just looking at them does'nt count :P

It's not an issue, everyone needs to realise what they are getting themselves into, Testing is for those whom are willing to put time aside to help the tuners and organiser in having a fun competetive event.... as with what ryan said before, because there are prizes on the line, we as testers have the responsibility to ensure every tuner has a fair test, which means restricting your laps in each car to the same amount, as your not only testing how fast it can go but how easy it is to go that speed..... if you did say 20 laps in one ride to squeeze an extra second out, but only did 5 laps in another you will be providing a biased result.

So if your thinking you are time poor, do 3 laps per car.... but make sure you stick to the same rule of thumb for everyone.

This is only the second battle i've been in, however it has given me something really fun to do when on GT5, thanks to the Fitt guys for organising.

Well that explanes my times from you with my Prowler :dopey:

...Great points, see above

I've tried to be a tester for two shootouts, and I ran 5 laps per car, then posted my time. Some cars I got used to and turned faster laps a second time around, but it was unfair to the cars I didn't run a second time, so time was omitted. Set a time per car, enjoy, and have FUN.

My two sense (sight & smell :dopey: )

Remember, testers have 2 weeks to test. Even if you do an hour a day, that's 14 hours in total. 👍

My trio of cars are coming along nicely. I have my GT86 doing 1:02's at Tsukuba. :D

My KiA wannabe is running in the 01's!!! need to get it to go better round Suzuka though, got a feeling it's gonna get smashed round there

People can't realise what they're getting themselves into, they could sign up when there's 5 cars in the group but (if there isn't a limit on group size) then find that it's 200 cars by the time the deadline hits. It's not a problem for me, I'm fine with the number of cars (at the moment... unless too many more get added...).

I'm just saying that a large number of cars could put potential testers off and testers workload needs to be considered in deciding how many entries per group. Also, the fewer cars in a group, the more thoroughly each will be tested.

RyanGT, yeah to keep things fair every car in a group needs to be driven by the same testers. The only fair way to split it up (that I know of) is make it multi-round. ie sub-groups of 6-8 cars, top two go through to a final. Just a suggestion, not trying to tell you how to run things.

My 490pp and 520pp entries are on share now :) I'll post the tunes in a few hours after I've had some sleep. My 550pp entry is also up :)

490pp - silvia s15
520pp - RX7
550pp - R34 skyline

Ooooh, without giving too much away, somewhere in-between. There's plenty of room to take the kids to school in it, but they'll be traumatised by the time they get there :mischievous:

I know the 12 orphans I crammed into the back of the Farm truck fell off of the back coming out of the first hairpin at Tsukuba, they had to close the track for 8 hours while the local authorities cleaned up the mess:yuck:

I've yet to run my hatchback at Tsukuba, ran it at Suzuka and laughed all the way round. I've got a free evening to myself tonight, so I'm going to throw the dog in the back and test his balance skills... :sly:

I'll probably have a private Lounge up later (from around 18:00GMT, onward), so if you're online yourself and want a sneak preview, you're welcome to jump in 👍

would have loved to, but got work in the morning (thats god knows what time your time)....

Tell you what though I got a pleasant surprise :eek:from Krenkme's Airtrek soccer mom mobile:bowdown:..... I'm telling you that is a really great car, heavy as hell, handles quite well though considering, and posted some surprising times given that I anticipated the worst possible outcomes for it..... 👍👍

Not a problem Sir. I may put the car up on share a little later, so my Tame Racing driver can have a blast. If I do, I'll drop you a PM so you can have a sneak peak yourself.

Krenkme does a good line in overweight fun machines. I seem to remember running a few for him a while back, all were a pleasure to drive 👍

Argh, may need to drop off the 1-for-3 club. Can't get this ^%#& thing to turn. :banghead: Gonna give it another go from scratch and then bin it in a hedge somewhere....

Right I think its time

I've stuck with the sports cars on this one (I can't tune trucks). I think I've got a pretty good selection of motors here too. They are all iconic Japanese sports cars and I think they look the dogs nuts. I've tuned them on both tracks but left the gearing pretty basic because, to be honest, i haven't got a clue with transmissions :D I think they perform pretty well but others may not but its all for fun and i think the testers will have fun driving these. Watch out for the over steer on the Silvia :)
