Japanese Classics Racing - Prizes!

I see what your getting at. But I don't watch football. My dad does. He's not to happy when I wish to play a game when he's watching something. Thus, I can not get on. I seriously do not know the football schedule, I could care less about the game.

Also on the OCD thing, that's not to great. I did buy a bunch of the Nissans. That's all. But that is a big problem.

I have more than one of lots of these cars. Happy to give them away to a good home.

Well, I'm availible pretty much all night. Send me a friend request if needed.

And to the OP. I really hope you take my comment for what it is. I honestly don't mean anything offensive by it. It is after all nice to see people putting time into some organized online events.

I would still say, that the evening wont be completely wasted if we made it into a practice session. We had a couple of guys with the possibility to host, so if they opened a room in lets say half an hours time, lets practice and test.

Agree. We can do a practice session with a half-hour or an hour race and post the results here. We can call it..., say a Pre-Season race.

Great, if you post a room number here, whoever wants to practice race at 8PM GMT can join. Im sure we already have 4 guys ready.

The race should be at a half-hour or 3/4-hour, as the grid is too small for a full hour race.

Hi Id i managed to find the room last night by accident, it was good fun, are you running your cars with the rev limiter on or off. I have tuned car to pp, but still found it not as quick as the others that were there.

Yes, we had some good races, especially at Rome. When I was leaving afterwards, I just noticed cc570 said something about the cars could benefit from less grippy tyres. I agree completely. I think this type of race could be amazing with cars equipped with perhaps sports medium, or even -hard. And the smaller tracks, Rome, Eiger were really fun too. These are great cars.

I have actually tuned my car for a endurance tomorrow, and just limited to 380PP last night. Gives some ekstra torque, a little bit, but what I believe has more importance, is using the right gearing for each track. At Rome I could see, my car had a disadvantage from slow accel, while it benefitted from a good top speed at Suzuka.

That depends on the car. My Mazda Cosmo would easily loose grip whenever I enter a corner. If you have the replay of Rome and the like, you'll see what i mean in the first long right hand turn. The other cars I tested were much more stable.

About the Power limiter, I don't mind it being used in a practice session, but didn't we agree on not using it in the real race?

Looking back in the thread, I can find a discussion on the use of powerlimiters, but no definite descision. As powerlimiting has been integrated in the game, how would you detect and/or prevent anyone from using it? Its impossible.

Powerlimiting +- 20-50PP really has no significance during a race. Do some testing. :)
On the tyre issue, I always like racing to be as realistic as possible. And I believe that the tyres for these cars originally were much closer to Comfort Softs, than Sports softs!

My point is that if people can just use the Power Limiter, then the restrictions serve no purpose. My car is at exactly 380pp without any ballast or Power Limiting. Adding a racing exhaust and then power limiting it will still give me a slightly better acceleration. But I won't do that because it's against the regulations. The purpose of these restrictions is to make you think smart about what you upgrade. Sort of like choosing a tactic, if you will.

My car is tuned to 380pp power limiter was off, I had to install lots of tuning to even get it close to required pp. The cars still seemed quicker than the one I was using. Can I send Id a friend reqest. Up for practice with who ever, entered in mini championship on wensday, so cant that night.

John Wells and I are going to be practicing a bit this evening, at 8PM CET, at Suzuka, to prepare for Sundays race.
I'll be opening a room and posting the number here 5 minutes before 8PM.
Everyone is welcome. :)

Quick question. British timezone? So the race will be at 21.00 in Denmark?

No, I'll open the room at 8PM CET, which is 8PM danish time. Or GMT + 2:00, as it is at the moment. OR..in one hour from the timestamp on this message..:)

ahh OK. Guissing CET stands for Copenhagen timezone or something like that. Thanks, I'll be there.

Race is tomorrow, right? I still haven't chosen a car, nor tested any... :( I was too busy this week I couldn't get a slot in..

Yes race is tomorrow... but...

Can't race. Have fun guys! Tell me the winners and I shall send the prize to those players. 👍 Someone else will have to host. One of you decide.

Stupid NFL. As I mentioned earlier, I had forgotten about the NFL on Sundays and my DAD watches it not me. He's not to happy about scheduled races for a video game. :/

Get some pictures posted! And a heads-up, a Nurburgring World Classics may be coming up. Maybe a second Japanese classics if people are up to it. ;)

^^

Oh, I understand you being unable to show up to tomorrow's race. I would do the same :P And I'll host. I have a pretty good connection.. Someone else will have to get the pictures :P

You know what? I can understand someone making your mistake once. But waiting a whole week before admitting to people who spend time practicing for something you are responsible for organizing, that you are making that mistake again..is beyond my understanding.

"I had forgotten about the NFL.." that doesnt cut it, my friend. I'm out, there a plenty of well organised leagues where responsible players organise events for these kind of cars. 👎👎👎

What else was I supposed to do? You guys were willing to wait a week, and it happens I still can't make it. Seriously, what else can I do? Nothing as far as I know.

I am not neglecting this race. I'm missing it really. As I said above, what else could I do?

You could have planned ahead better. Asked your dad weather or not the TV was availible the next sunday. Planning ahead is a key element for organizing events. But don't take this as me assaulting you. I have nothing against you, but if you're going to organize an event, you should ALWAYS make sure you have time for it yourself. Otherwise you're waisting other peoples time.
