could you check the natural frequency because 2.80hz in not reachable with this car. I drove it using 3.80hz and it's a great tune anyway, thanks!

I am fine thank you my friend and I hope you too. Thanks a lot my dear friend for your feedback. Maybe I made a mistake in copying the data. I will see that very quickly and corrected my mistake with your values. Thanks again my dear friend :cheers:

Hi Jerome,
Thanks so much for the effort that you have gone to with creating and sharing these tunes.
Can you please help with the following misunderstanding that I am having? (I am new to tuning).

I have successfully applied your tunes, which leaves the max speed at usually 200km/h.

When I enter a Lobby race, with no restrictions on tuning, I changed the max speed to 320km/h to suit a track. I did this because I did not want the speed limiter to max out and restrict the car to 200km/h. I did not change the Final Gear.

However when I was racing, my car (AMG Gr.3) was able to reach only a top speed of approx. 290km/h, as it failed to shift into 6th gear (remained in 5th).

I know that you say to change Final Gear to suit the track, but If I only change the Final Gear, and NOT the max speed, then won't the speed limiter still kick in and restrict the car to the max top speed of 200km/h (as set initially by your tune)?

Sorry if this is confusing, just trying to understand if when I'm in a Lobby race with no tuning restrictions, if I want to increase my top speed (to suit a track) do I change BOTH the max. speed and Final Gear, or just the Final Gear???

Thanks for your help.

Thanks a lot for yours comments.
For the gearbox you must do this :
In first the Final Gear then the max speed then the ratios and then the Final Gear ( little value Final Gear you privileged the speed and higher value Final Gear you priviliged the accélération ).

not that i want to interfere, but i understand the question in another way, gtohhh wants to adjust the topspeed of the car to suit the track. What i do in these circumstances is to use the bottom slider (final gear) and

- move it more to the right for more acceleration and less top speed (sometimes revving out only a little at some places a lesser sacrifice overall)

- move it more to the left for less acceleration and more topspeed... beware: the speed you see in 5th gear is really the top, with this technique i usually add 10km/6mph on top to have a bit more headroom while drafting (to be in the wind shadow of another car)

i hope this helps...

Thanks a lot my dear friend Stefan. My english is very poor and I don't understand this question in this way. Thanks a lot my dear friend. I will hope that he will understand.:cheers:

merci for your kind words,

after thinking again about it i hope that it was clear not to use the top-tempo slider for adjustments but the bottom one...

grts from very hot hilversum in holland...

Thank you both Jeje6410 and Steefpeef for your replies. Yes Steffpeef, your understanding of my question is correct.

If the “Final Gear” slider is used to adjust both the acceleration and maximum speed, then why do they have the ‘Max. Speed’ slider?

Is my understanding correct…adjusting the “Final Gear” slider will overwrite the value/data applied by the “Max.Speed” slider?

Again, sorry if I’m sounded confused!

i am no specialist in this, but as far as i understand it the whole gearbox is a very flexible tool that has great impact on the way the car behaves onder throttle, braking and acceleration.

The way the way the spacing/spreading of the gears is determined by the technique applied.

Correct me if i am wrong, but back in the gt5/6 days i think it was @praiano63 (Laurent, my friend, can you please help me here?) who developed the method of a "flipped gearbox":

--> first max "final gear" and then minimum "max speed", in the end spacing.

The gears got longer, and where in a different rev-band...
you had more acceleration from standing start,
and sometimes with "down-tuned" cars you could get rid of pumping...

There are more advantages but this should do for now... The gearbox was and sometimes still is one of the most powerful tools for tuning.

In GTS it still works, that was a big "eureka" moment when we had GTS-prologue and again when GTS came out... that it still worked...

Jeje (Jérôme) also uses this method a lot, but most of the time with a twist:

- sometimes he uses a higer minimum "max speed" setting
- but nearly always he uses the "final gear" minus 500 rpm and then spaces the gears

@Jeje6410 why?

so to give you a kind of simple answer:
the max speed setting provides the rev-band/location and the final gear the dimension of the total range (i know that is incorrect but it can be a way of thinking).

if you want to dig deeper in this subject, here on GTP are a lot of posts about this from the past (GT5/6) that still apply...

I hope it is all a bit correct and understandable, i hope that others can help here...

Grts Stefan from very hot holland
