i am no specialist in this, but as far as i understand it the whole gearbox is a very flexible tool that has great impact on the way the car behaves onder throttle, braking and acceleration.

The way the way the spacing/spreading of the gears is determined by the technique applied.

Correct me if i am wrong, but back in the gt5/6 days i think it was @praiano63 (Laurent, my friend, can you please help me here?) who developed the method of a "flipped gearbox":

--> first max "final gear" and then minimum "max speed", in the end spacing.

The gears got longer, and where in a different rev-band...
you had more acceleration from standing start,
and sometimes with "down-tuned" cars you could get rid of pumping...

There are more advantages but this should do for now... The gearbox was and sometimes still is one of the most powerful tools for tuning.

In GTS it still works, that was a big "eureka" moment when we had GTS-prologue and again when GTS came out... that it still worked...

Jeje (Jérôme) also uses this method a lot, but most of the time with a twist:

- sometimes he uses a higer minimum "max speed" setting
- but nearly always he uses the "final gear" minus 500 rpm and then spaces the gears

@Jeje6410 why?

so to give you a kind of simple answer:
the max speed setting provides the rev-band/location and the final gear the dimension of the total range (i know that is incorrect but it can be a way of thinking).

if you want to dig deeper in this subject, here on GTP are a lot of posts about this from the past (GT5/6) that still apply...

I hope it is all a bit correct and understandable, i hope that others can help here...

In GT6 I have always used the method of my friend @praiano63. And in GT Sport too . I learn this method in this @praiano63 's post :
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...mo-red-bull-x2014-junior.291084/#post-9004465
For yours explanations they are corrects and understandable my dear Stefan.👍👍

Hello, first , i have to say that i did not invent the ''flipped transmition trick'' others players were using it before , i don't remember if it was possible to do it in GT4 , i wasn't tuning cars at this time.
Anyway , this trick was very efficient in GT5 and 6 , allowing to explore the peak of power on the rpm range where it stay , making the gear closer one to the other.
In GTS this is no more so performant to do the trick, there is almost no difference between a gearbox tuned with auto trans slider or with the flip.
It's is still valid to use it but for other reason than a better accel.

1st good point : having closer gears allow you to stay in the same a narrower rpm range . Nothing new but this time it's not for a better acceleration but this way you can for example accelerate earlier full gas out corner without loosing the rear end because you are staying away of the max torque peak zone , a very bad RPM range for you to fall in during a retake shifting to an upper gear . This combination together with a right LSD acceleration value ,help you to stay inline out of those medium and fast speed corners that you can find on most of the tracks. (Like parabolica last turn on monza , or first right turn out on suzuka.)

2d good point is that you have more free RPM range available to set each gear and because of this you will be able to set some specific gear to work better in specifics corners. ( Like passing all all the Suzuka S curves with the same gear at the ideal rpm range to nail all apex with the optimum grip ... or set a first gear to have a better acceleration out the next hairpin .... )

I will make a post in my garage thread about all this for sure with some video and graphics,

Have a good day friends.

This tune can be use for all the races in GT League ( in Professional Pilot League Midship Challenge)

This tune is just great, my new favourite! A lot of control during acceleration and under braking, and if it gets loose a bit, it does not stab you in the back, and i could always catch it again, that gives great confidence and makes it possible to go closer to the limit and be consistent in the same time. The gearbox is very sweet.

thank you very much for it!

Sorry my friends but I can not offer other cars at the moment. My work takes me a lot of time in recent weeks. So I have more time to play and make money to buy the cars of the latest updates like the Mercedes F1 W08. I hope to come back very soon.

Good drive and enjoy

Appreciate all the hard work you've done, and look forward to many more of your tunes in the future.

Hello my friend, i've made all the money during my sleep and working time , with the rubber and DS4
The only difference now is that i use the veneno at N700 RSS tires against GR3. The veneno being a 4WD is a lot more stable and stay easier on his line.
Good luck.

Thank you very much for your advice my dear friend. But for 3 or 4 months I will be overworked. But if I have some time I will try.
Thanks again my dear friend :cheers:

Sorry my friend... I never hit with the gearbox values...
How you make this values? You put the speed limit in 200km/h and the final gear into 4.500, then you put all the values of the gear.
When you finally have put all values, you change the final to 3.299?

I have a problem in excel, thats the way i put my gear... but your values i can't introduce.

regards

Did you adjust the final gear first and then max speed, gears and then the final gear ?.

Hi my friend
Sorry but my gears are good.
For all my tunes in first adjust the final gear, in second adjust the max speed, in third adjust the gears and then the final gear.

Good drive and enjoy

Oh i see.
I never told that yours gears are bad...
I doesn't had understand how you put the values,
Ok... now i understand your steps...
Tonight i will try and give you a feedback

regards,

There is also a lot of interesting stuff in the posts #654 until #664 about this in this thread, that could be also interesting for you...

Thanks a lot to all.
Now it's perfect...
Steefpeef thanks for review the posts, but unfortanely i don't have to many time to play... I get the tune and put the tuning... I can't have time to adjustments...
:P
Regards to all,

I same thing is happening with me. I don't think that I will ever be able to compleat those 3 events. If you come up with a salution let me know please.
