You must Run the Mercedes a160 avantgard at Deep Forest using sim tires and a stage 1 weight reduction only that’s it for mods, also no grass cutting or wall riding. Run the car on the arcade mode on time trail mode that’s it for rules. BTW If you want post your time here on the board like the Kid and I did. Final times are due Jan 7th I think.

Today I reviewed my best run and knowtis that on the first corner I got one tire over the rumble strip and on to the grass, the rest of the car was on the pavement. Is this grass cutting or is it a valid lap??

well, no... grass cutting is where all 4 wheels are in the grass, right?

I suck!! 1:45.731 @ 102.49mph!! :( Well, at least I can say I only started to practice at three in the morning.:burnout::lol:

I would think so. People are going to know when they are using the grass to acheive a better time, versus accidentally grazing it while cornering.

Between moving, holidays, etcetera, I haven't had time to really sit down and readjust to driving with non-pressure-sensitive controls. (I only got to 1:42.2xx @ 102.xx after an hour; haven't driven in a week.)

Since it seems that others are interested in running with us, and because Reality is putting a dent in my free time, I think that stretching this out 'til Feb 1st isn't unreaqsonable, if you're up for it.

As for lawn-mowing, that's why I chose a light-weight, under-powered car and a wall-less track. If you can go agricultural and still go fast, go for it! For the record, I personally am racing clean laps for this since this car loses speed too quickly and regains it too slowly to make lawn-mowing worthwhile.

Hmmmm......
Looks like I'd better dust off the ol' snail-mobile and hunt for that tall skinny pedal myself!

1:41.848 @ 102.1
I figured out Vette's secret: run the nitrous line to the driver's helmet!
I'm officially bored with this FF POS. I'm not running it anymore. Jervy, you may be able to beat my time, but not by much!

Okay then, in that case, I am FORCED to concede this round and suspend all racing until the following things are accomplished;
1) I finish moving/unpacking
2) I get a new job (just got laid off Friday)
3) I rebuild the front end of the beater I just bought
4) I register said beater

As much as I like the racing and smacktalk, I just haven't been able to race seriously. I don't have enough time to even meet all my RL commitments at present.

BTW, I got down to 1:42.203 @ 103.24 before life forced me to put down the controller. Maybe not faster than you, but fast enough to prove I CAN drive.

Where'dja move to, Jerv? :)

I think I'm gonna go try this challenge.....

I think that this proves that we're all pretty equal behind the wheel of FF's.
My personal dislike for FF cars stems from the car's lack of performance, rather than my inability to drive it.
In any case, we'll have to set up something when you have more play time available.

Yeah, wait until you get to GT3 and fully tune an FTO! Torque steer is good!

Good news! I got a job that'll pay the bills; pay ain't great, but the bennies and work conditions are quite nice.

Now I can devote my time to other things, like replacing the front control arm bushings and adjusting the valve lash on an '87 Toyota Corolla. (Hey, it was roadworthy, inspectable, and cheap
:D )

And you KNOW that there WILL be a next time. Of course, it'll probably be more of a side-bet on another event. I wish I could challenge you to sim-tires on Wet SS5, or Mustangs in the Swiss Alps, but you ain't got GT3 yet. :(

Maybe 395 HP '82 Stingrays w/ sport suspension and Sim tires? Hmm....

Kinda funny - the place I moved to... worst driveway on the (1.5-lane dirt) road. Neighbor came to plow us out and HE got stuck too! Oddly, the only vehicle that's never had a problem on it is the Saturn... :odd: ; the toll now stands at two F-150s (both 4WD) and a Corolla, just in the last week .

It's something I've been wanting to do but haven't got around to yet. I'm not sure if I wanna go "sportman" (limited mods) or go all-out like your buddy (Race suspension and all). Once I decide, and have a little time to actuallyu race, I'll post it.

Will all the way out according to the game is just a little short of my RL version. Freaken game designers will allow a 3.0L to have 500 HP, but a 5.7L can only get 395 HP. Which for a Small Block Chevy 350 that's just slightly hoped up. Anyways I'm in I say full out, but a sports tires! You have nothing to fear from us because Team Tonne[R] never has driven or raced a FR small block powered Chevy before 😈
