Hi JG,
sorry I have only just realized that you have put the tune up for the Legacy.
I'll heck this out tonight and let you know how I get on with it.
thanks for this mate.

I can't be the only one who sees it.
You weren't by chance referencing someone's possible preference for anime boys were you?:nervous::scared:

I was trying to ignore that possibility thank you very much.:dopey:

Nope. I was refering to the fact he's looking at anime girls before bed. It doesn't matter if they're anime girls or real girls, there's only one reason why'd you look at them before bed.

It does actually. It's quite healthy too.

Roj and Harvey, how old are you guys? I'm 15, you're acting like I would XD
Triple that then factor in around 4 hours sleep in the past 48 hours...just fell asleep while testing a car so think its time for me to look at some girls...erh...I mean go to bed and get some real sleep.:D:lol:

Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon 2.0GT SpecB '03 Review

Hi JG
I've just been running the Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon 2.0GT SpecB '03 tune around deep forest and i'm really impressed.

Now I know I asked for 400BHP and 1400kg's as I have a couple of estate cars at these levels from a past tourney I was tuning cars for.

But I decided to aim for the 500pp level instead. So dropped a couple of tuning items off to bring the BHP down making it:

3878BHP / 7100rpm
44kgfm / 3109rpm
1400kg's
500pp
Sports hard tyres

This now fits in with the other 500pp cars I have been testing. I was really impressed with what this big lump of a car could do. There was very little understeer and no oversteer unless you used the hand break to instigate a power slide.
The car felt like one of the legacy's smaller brothers from the impreza range the handling was just so good.

As I said I put this car round deep forest which is my test track of choice. It handled the bendy section really well. I managed a time of 1:26.506 which is in amongst the RX8 and lancer evo times which are both also at the 500pp level. I did hope it would do well but this was far better than I had expected. I am managing to get 500pp cars round mostly in the 1:26's but this beat my impreza 22B sti's best time, I really didn't expect that.

I was so impressed with the suspension tune of this car that I promptly went and added it to my legacy touring wagon GT-B '96 it improved that no end as well.
But I could't get it to beat the '03 version.

Great work JG another fine tune.
Thanks mate.

Ahahahahahahaha!!!!:lol::lol:!!!!! Looks like I missed out last night...but yea, Roj, Desperado, act your age *tsk tsk tsk*

Brightened up my day, that.

Review

I thougt I give this tune a try since I'm participating in the Nissan Silvia Championship here on GTP.

So I setup JG's tune, but realized that i must be missing some parts because the car ended up with 559PP - 422 BHP @7400 RPM, 43 kgfm @7000 RPM. Maby I'm missing the engine tune.
Anyway, I tested it against my own tune @ 535PP on suzuka on RS tires.

Pros
The Car feels really stable and it is, no surprises at all. There's no tail wagging at all, unless you really provoke it. Even at the hairpin and the chikane you can put your foot down and the car just puts the power down to the black stuff.
Troughout the corners there is no change in how the car handles, it feels like you have tonns of grip, and again no surprises at all.
You feel really confidece in the car once you have done a couple of laps in it.
+Stable
+No surprises
+No change in the handling
+Confidence in the car/setup

Cons
The feel you have of neverending grip with this tune, comes at a price. And you have to pay with understeer and loss of valuble time.
Allthough it delivers the power to the ground, you can't put your foot down early because this, more than likely will result in understeer on the exits.
This means you loose time.
The turn in suffers a bit of the same, its not sharp so go a little bit too fast into a corner and you miss the apex. And its difficult to adjust the speed and racingline at this moment because lifting off produces understeer and so does breaking.
Also I feel that the tune hides/removes the true caracter and qualites of the car.

Conclusion
I think JG sums it up in his own comment on this tune:
"Certainly a tune subject to revision, I just wanted to get another tune up before I leave on holiday for the the next few days".

This tune needs more work. The Silvia is a bit of a happy dog in its original state, it likes to wag its tail. Instead of removing this trait it should be used to your advantage. The understeer is not huge or dramatic in any way, but its there.
The tune isnt bad, but needs to be refined.

I was randomly browsing my garage, when this thing caught my eye. By god, the LOOKS o.O But then again, it's Italian, from the 60's, what was to expect? The handling of this car is also easily predictable. Twitchy, and a hint of oversteer if you want it. Also sometimes when you don't.

This is, as requested, a maxed out BMW 1 Concept Tii. Not quite as fun as the lower powered one, due to some slightly more uncontrollable oversteer. But still a nice car.

When I bought this, there were actually 2 in the UCD, one with 6000 KM's, and one with 33000 KM's. Obviously, I bought the former, even if it was 50K more expensive. Anyways, this car is fun. Really. Perfectly balanced between slidey and grippy, for example, depending on your control input, it will either slide all the way up Eu Rouge, or grip like a maniac up it. Your choice.

Another quite boring car that no tuning in the world can fix. Well, maybe more power, but I don't want to add parts to this car, seeing as I want to be able to return it to stock if I want.
