1) This racing league is open to all who can commit to a full season.

2) You may purchase or win as a prize any car on the following list for an entry. The main sponsor of the car you chose is your racing team. If drivers have the same sponsor, they may act as a team if they so chose to, but must inform BH-21 of the fact in this thread. A team may also hire a team engineer and inform BH-21 of it. A team must also pick a team leader to ask about being on pace with the leaders of the field.

Any tire set may be purchased and used also at the driver or racing teams discretion. No engine modifications may be purchased or used, the cars will be used as they are, but may be tuned completely with what they have. Nitrous Oxide purchase and use is banned.

4) There will be only totallying of points for each race with the highest being the winner at the end of the season, figured solely as individuals or teams depending on the entries.

5) The season lasts one month, each driver and team has that amount of time to submit their times for each event. A driver or team can do the tracks as fast or as slow as they want and manage their time, but a month is all you get. Results will be posted for a race as soon as all entries are in for it. If the month passes no further entries will be accepted and results will be posted at a minimum of one track or event a day until it is all complete.

6) All driving aids are at a driver or teams discretion.

7) To drive a course a driver will use the events/tracks listed in the Event Schedule. At least one lap must be A-Spec'ed during a race, B-Spec'ing is at a driver or teams discretion for the rest of it.

8) Times used will be a combined lap time that shows when you return to the main screen for that track, after a race, with a combined time for all the racers that finished.

9) That combined time is what a driver will private message to BH-21 and it will be compared to the other drivers and teams for each track.

10) All time submissions will be by Private Message to BH-21

11) Points will be awared at the following rates:
Code:
Position Points
1st 10
2nd 6
3rd 5
4th 4
5th 3
6th 2
7th 1
8th -

12) A winner's circle will held for the top three positions at the end of season.

13) If a driver or team that isn't able to post their times for a given track recieves a DNF for each track that is missed.

14) A solo driver or the head of a team may ask by PM if they are on pace or not with the leaders. I will reply with one of three responses, Yes, No, Not Enough Data. This way you are not completely competing against an unknown target.
Code:
Pace
Yes - (+/- 1.5 seconds)
No - (Behind more then 1.5 seconds)
Not Enough Data - (No entries yet)

15) A race event should be driven in the spirit of a race keeping two wheels on the track at all times and minimizing collisions with the bot cars. Especially to preserve your car for the season.

The season starts October 1st and ends November 1st. The longer it takes for people to sign up, the less time they have to drive the season.

Ok, a rule addition of number 14, pushing the old one to 15 and a little padding on rule 2. This covers asking about being on pace with the leaders for solo drivers and team leaders.

Car selections and organizing teams can start anytime. Setting up a car will likely take the most time. All tracks short of the endurance ones are realtively quick and easy to do if you only do them once. Driving multipule times for that perfect finish time is where people get into trouble making leagues like this time sinks. The endurance tracks B-Spec Bob may be employed, but at least one lap must be A-Spec'ed.

We might even employ race numbers, like the ones on cars for a purely decorative touch.

Welcome aboard! You can recuit others to drive for the Calsonic team and an engineer if you like, the same cars can even be used. For flavor we could pick racing numbers as well.

I'm a little unclear on what exactly, the role of the team engineer is, is just helping with the car setup or is there more to it that that?

Car setup, different setups depending on track are important. The main ones are tire selection and gearing and LSD settings and the all important brake controller settings. Basically your someone the team can bounce ideas off and ask questions of.

P.S. Anyone worried about joining late, thats ok with a month to do stuff and only one deadline you still can join late. You just reduce the amount of time to do things, I will not even calculate any results for at least the first week into the season even if all entries are in from currently signed up drivers, but after that week any track with results posted will be a DNF for late sign-ups.

Just randomly noticed a small typo, BH-21. In the JGTC News section with the different racing teams, you have Pennzoil spelled as 'Pennziol.' Just thought I'd point it out.

No, just your own time.

The AI cars are just there for scenery/speed bumps what have you. You can imagine they are some of the other racers in this series if you want.

Remember Shotagmee is available as a team engineer. Though until after the first official week passes and people see where they stand some, that is when I think Shotamagee will be in demand.

Do we have to race the events in the order that they're listed?
Or can we run the endurance races first? :D
I want to get them done as soon as possible as I don't have the option to B-spec, as I've never, ever, used it so my B-spec driver resigned! :yuck:
I'm happy to A-spec them, but Suzuka 1000km means setting aside a 5 - 6hr session to get it done. :scared:

Really, the endurance races are the only thing I'm worried about doing...Otherwise, I would probably enter, if only to dust off my old copy of GT4 again!

I don't know why everyone dislikes endurance races, it gives you time to get used to a car / track combo, it helps you to improve, helps you gain consistency, and you get to actually use pit strategy and tyre-wear to your advantage instead of running the countless hundreds of silly little 1 & 2 lap waste-of-effort races that GT4 is riddled with.
If I can get the endurance races out of the way though, I can always find a 30 minute window to knock out a Family Cup race or 10 lap JGTC race. I just don't want to get to Oct 30th and have 3 endurance races left to do in a single sitting! Even for an endurance nut like me that's a little to much to ask!

BH-21 has given you the option of B-speccing the races, after you've driven at least 1 A-spec lap.

You can race them in any order you wish.

There have been submissions already through the family cup events and the Japan Hall Events leaving only the Endurance events for one driver with a month to go. The official season start is tomorrow.

P.S. I have updated the explanation of the pace question with rule 14. Amkobih asked one today, and I thought I had better define it better.

We are taking new entries up to October 31st, but the later your enter the less time you have to complete the season and any tracks already with posted results you are DNF'ed for. Season ends November 1st.

Good luck, and a good racing season to all!

Our first endurance race submission has been made for Grand Valley.

And, surprisingly it wasn't me!!!
I've spent the morning, since I got up at 4:45am to watch the football, running the Family Cup races to get used to my car. I'm submitting those times now.
I ran with an oil change and RSS (R5) tyres since these races are so short.

Sign me up. I'll take the Nissan Pennzoil Nismo GT-R (JGTC) ('99). This league will definitely keep me playing GT4 for a good time.

Submit them when your ready. There has been quite a bit of racing so far. Good thing the bot cars don't count, they are so out classed. ;) Pesky human drivers and tunners picking on the AI again. (Insert Mutley laugh here!)

Just finished my GVS300km race. 👍
Awesome, not a foot wrong throughout, no AI touches and no barrier touches.
Utterly decimated the AI field, finishing over 4 laps ahead of the 2nd placed Nissan Motul Pitwork Z!!
