Just imagine how EPIC it's going to be.

Sorry if this has been done before but I wanted to start my first ever thread 💡

Just watching the recent video additions and reading the newest information and speculation about GT5 today and started thinking to myself.... What if the game surpasses everyones' expectations and then some.

What if we get everything we have dreamed of; damage for ALL cars, dynamic weather, full customization of cars and livery, brand name tuning, custom helmets, wind tunnels, drag racing, touge, point to point, 1000+ cars and 90+ tracks etc etc...

What if the physics, AI, realism, simulation, depth and overall completeness of GT5 wins over the lion share of every other racing sim's fans and supporters and finally puts the nail in the coffin of Forza vs GT fanboy arguments.

I've convinced myself this is being released on 4th December in time for xmas along with a new G25 bundle.

I hope that will never happen because then Aliens from another planet will come down here, kidnap every single GT player and probe us in the buttocks. That would not be epic at all.

I dont think its practical to even think that way, but It'll have major feature to evolve the GT franchise and graphics/physics to boot!

That would mean there will not be GT6, would be no need for it, just updates with new cars and tracks.

Well if they got it damn near perfect then job done, you've always got DLC that would keep it fresh and on top until the next generation consoles are released then PD will have to either start again or redevelop GT5.

Well, not really. The PS4 will be a quantum leap in horsepower over the PS3, enabling things that can only be dreamed of in the 3. With 2 - 4GB of system memory and who knows how much for graphics alone, the entire Nurburgring complex could be loaded into the console with 40 or more cars on track. If we don't get weather in GT5, we can have dynamic weather in GT6 to match what's going on at real life tracks. If we don't get different times of day in GT5, we can have real time sun, cloud and star movement in GT6. Environments could be fully damageable. Liveries could be insanely detailed. We could have not just a decal maker, but a font creator, and dozens of special paint and skin effects. We could have realistic 3D trees that move with the weather and car collisions, and they could have working reverse lights! But seriously, you get the idea.

As for GT5, I'm already giddy just waiting for TGS. When I finally get it in my hot little hands, I'm going to be downright dizzy. The excitement I felt when I got GT4 will be a yawner in comparison. It doesn't matter what we get or don't get in GT5, I need this game.

He wanted to be a film director before becoming a game director so i guess he would do this.I wonder if he will keep his peeps who help make the games, so more can be made & make films too.

Shut up, please, you're making me drool...:drool::drool:!

It will most likely be bundled with a new G27 instead. 👍

I'm sure gt5 is going to be great but I don't want to hype it up too much for fear that I'll shoot myself in the face if it doesn't deliver.. While there are other good games for the ps3, gt5 is the deal breaker. I would be so damned deppressed if gt5 flopped.

All ok, but not in 7! or more years ;)

He's far too anal to just be a director...He needs to be a showrunner/director that way his vision is not compromised.

BTW, if he does go this way, he would need to learn to look at what's been done before in similar genres.

Whilst I agree with the OP that GT5 will be epic. If we wish to put a nail in the coffin with the GT Vs forza arguments then GT5 needs to match FM3 for online content.

At the moment I have no doubts GT5 will beat FM3 in every department except im cautious about the online content. These days online content plays a very important role in the success of a game. Look at COD4 I only played the single player for about a week and yet still thousands of people continue to play it.

As for the PS4 why talk about a console that will never appear. Our current generation of consoles will be the last!!

No point getting your hopes too high, just to get dissapointed,

At this point im going to be extremely pleased with what ever they release, and appreciate the features they put in...

How there been any mention of a livery editor or customization for the cars in GT5? Is there any chance for some kind of livery editor in GT5 at all? If not then I don't think GT5 is going to beat Forza in EVERY department.

Livery editor and the community multiplayer aspect is going to be really hard for GT5 to beat. Forza 3 has all cars that are printable, you have the auction house where you can sell tunes, paintjobs, pictures, videos. Not to mention the new multiplayer lobby system and the unlimited rules that can be created to custom tailor a race.

I would love it if GT5 could get even close to having that kind of stuff. If it did it would blow Forza 3 right out of the water. That is one fact that I love about Forza is that you can take a car and make it your own.

If I could get that feeling out of GT5 it would be awesome.

To be sure, Race Mod and a Livery Editor need to be there in some form or fashion. It's going to be important not just to those of us who want to create our own race cars from existing stock, but to the online racers, team and league creators. Just imagine the letdown these folk will be facing if they have to all figure out which cars to buy for their team mates, so they aren't driving the same cars. And how stupid it would be to see a race with half the field made of the Raybrig NSX GT, the other the Xanavi GT-R GT. I would gag. :yuck:

Are these going to be in GT5? Possibly. If they aren't? Oh well, we'll make do somehow, and hopefully an outcry from many of us will convince PD to patch one in straight away.

I honestly think that Gran Turismo 5 will exceed our expectations.

GT5 will undoubtedly be epic. :sly:

This is how i feel. My expactations are basically GT5P with more cars and tracks... thats it! So i know any surprises are going to make me giddy.

Oh, by the way, some of the info from the PD site already has i guess. Such as Custom Soundtracks, online lobbies etc..

As long as GT5 is a little better then Prologue, i'm good with that! Anything extra is just icing on the cake! But it wouldn't hurt to throw, a big surprise in either!:sly:

That is exactly the point that so many people misses! GT5 will be (believe it or not) a video game. No more, no less. But since it is called Gran Turismo it won't be accepted unless it's the greatest video game ever made, and even then people will be disappointed that the Ferrari F40 weights 40 kg more than it does in real life and the reverse lights doesn't work.

But as you say, if it is just Prologue with a GT Mode and some cars and tracks it's totally fine!

If GT5P had pitstops, proper Championships (not just missions) and a proper online mode it would probably be my 2nd favorite racing game of all time behind NASCAR 2003 with it's epic 43 car online mode

1,000 cars alone = EPIC

Believe me...PD wants to smash Forza. They're going to double up Forza in every category they can

2x the cars - 400 compared to 1,000
2x the cars on track - 8 compared to 16
2x the resolution - 720p vs 1080p

Unless PD drops the ball by, lets say releasing a buggy game GT5 will be my favorite racing game of all time, perhaps my favorite game of all time period. For the first one or two hours I'll probably just watch replays of the AI racing....that says alot about how epic/great a game is...when you can watch it and enjoy it....

16 car races!
GT mode
almost all cars can be customized!
Online play!!!
Photo mode
Youtube mode!

oh my god.. what else?

Maybe save vdieos to HDD or just go to youtube and save form there... edit more with better tools!

Craps his pants!!!!

1,000 does sound kind of epic, but then you realize there will be like 50 Skylines, 35 WRX's, etc...

Having multiple copies of the same car kind of trims that number down quite a bit. Where as Forza has cars that are selected more carefully.

Where did you find cars list for Forza 3 and GT5 ?

I think that GT5 will have just as great 'WOW effect' as GT4 did...if not better!
Bring on TGS!!!:dopey:
