Isn't it illegal if you can't see the FIA tags?
I hope not. It was sold four feet away from the president of the kart club.

MrMelancholy15Revival of the Thread!
I bring new information and interesting stuff!
A clean slate for a new season.
For those of you who don't know, #51 is my autocross number. It's now also my karting number, officially. Therefore, I imagine I could just go with #51 is my racing number, from now on. (No, I'm not affiliating myself with A.J. Allmendinger, don't ask if I am.)
Also, there are five/six other rookies in my class; I'll try to win "Rookie of the Year," and hopefully be faster than the other rookies. That's my goal.
And, you can follow my entire career, race for race, here, including my autocross events!
Lastly, I found out where my suit's from; Shift!
Nice, and well done on the mystory of the suit! I'm racing #43 this season and am also a rookie. And no, im not copying Ken Block as my number; ive always liked 43, dunno why
You got the other A.J. Allmendinger number.
Figures. 👍 👍
Not sure this is the best place to be posting but it is probably the closest thread I've come across. I kart at this track a number of times a year (arrive and drive) and was looking at improving my lap times though not sure what I need to do to improve them. Sitting around 2 seconds off what "professionals" manage with the same kart.

Here is a link to the track. At the point marked "A" there is a nasty dip which unsettles the kart if you're on the gas at the time and sends you wide. Anybody able to give some general advice or even suggest a recommended ideal like to take? I think another weak point of mine is braking into a corner. I do tend to lock the wheels up slightly and particularly entering turn 1 on this track I do let the rear slide out slightly on entry to give me a tighter line into turn 2.
I've been considering taking up karting as I love racing and want to get into it. I know of a track in NJ called Raceway Park, drag strip and a kart track. I'm going there for the first race to ask about the different karts and racing. If anone can help, please help me get started. Thanks!
Going down to the track to have a look around and ask some questions is the best thing to do at the moment mate. Try just to get a feel for the atmosphere and gain as much info as you can on the different class's of karting. Most importantly though, have fun.
If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, us karting bunch tent to be pretty friendly.

If you're in New Jersey, I'd suggest that you go to New Jersey Motorsports Park. They have one of the best karting facilities in North America and the best one in the North East. You're better off looking there.
I'm in southern NY, and Raceway Park is closest to me.
I've just never heard of raceway park.
And I have driven at all the top tracks in our area. I can assure you, a trip to NJMP would be worth much more than this raceway park.
Do they have a website?
http://www.etownraceway.com/ I've been there before, its pretty cool there, just wasn't actually thinking of going racing, but now I want to. Also it's a WKA Kart Track.
And NJMP is an FIA track.
From where I live, it's just too far. That's just what I'm trying to get across. With that over, can anyone help with the different types of racing? I'm looking into sprint racing, and are the classes divided by engine, chassis, that's just what I'm confused on.
How much does a season of entry level competitive karting cost in the UK for an 18 year old? I am intrigued because I'd love to race but the costs are out of control if what I am lead to believe is true.
You live in the midlands so the best bet for cheap racing for you would be TKM clubman, it uses older style engines and the older chassis (and thus a little slower than other classes) however since everyone in the class is using them and it keeps costs down.
For rough costs you can probably get all the tools/equiptment and the kart for £1500 if you went for TKM clubman, and then after that I would budget another £1500 for a year or racing. (this is also for TKM clubman and would involve being very stringent on what you spend money on)
This is just a very rough idea and your best bet would be to visit a kart track (probably Shennington is your best bet since they run TKM clubman.) on a practice day and just ask questions to anyone who will listen. You learn so much more actually being there then speaking to someone on the phone or internet.
If you have more questions then don't be afraid to ask.
I got my trailer for $645. I think that's about 400 pounds.
