They look fantastic, need to do the same for mine. Look terrible now.

Honestly, just a quick clean up like that really makes them shine again. The camera does hide the numerous paint chips on them and how bent they are...

If you want to avoid the tyre shine spraying everywhere, spray it in to a small bowl first and apply it with a brush instead. It goes on smoother, gives more even coverage and saves getting it on the wheels.

Or just spraying it on a rag or sponge.. :)

We actually have some gel somewhere that's put on with a brush, but for some reason my dad wanted me to use the spray which is an absolute pain in the rear. I'll see if I can use the gel next time.

I agree, I cant stand the spray anymore. The gel is the ONLY tire shine I use now. :D The other best part about the gel is you don't have to worry about accidentally spraying anything onto your rotors. You simply wipe this on and walk away. Plus it lasts for a LONG time. Much longer than any spray I have ever tried.
It even comes with its own little application pad so your hands never get dirty at all. This stuff is amazing!

I may try this when my spray runs out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh god this. Best stuff ever. My dad used to use it on the pickup.

Protects the tire a little too. Good stuff 👍

The spray can crap is garbage. Don't waste your money.

My spray is pretty good... It lasts over a week no problem. No complaints other than I have to pump the sprayer a couple times to get it going.

You dedicated your 2100th post to Bruiser? *sniff* so feels...

Also, seeing as I'm posting here, I'll give a little update on the fella.

Yesterday me and my mum went to Meadowhall (a huge shopping centre/mall about an hour or so away), and Bruiser tagged along too like the good lil boy he is. Although, he was in one of his troll moods again. I'd picked up my copy of Disclosure's 'Settle' album on my way out to listen to some choons on the way there. Stopped off at the petrol station on the way and my mum suggested putting the CD in. So, I pressed eject - and nothing happened. It wasn't as if there wasn't a disc in there as Rudimental's album 'Home' was in there. So, I pressed more buttons on the radio - tried changing the station, tried muting, tried ejecting the CD again - nothing. Even the volume buttons by the steering wheel didn't work. Bruiser was adamant that we listened to Capital FM, which, as most UK members will tell you, only plays a playlist for an hour (containing mostly crappy pop) and then repeats that playlist all day. For the whole journey there, we were stuck with Capital FM. We tried pulling over and turning the ignition on and off, that didn't work. We tried turning the radio itself on and off, that didn't work.

So we got to Meadowhall, parked up, did a lot of shopping (despite my gender this isn't my favourite thing to do), decided we were going to buy a box of 3 Krispy Kreme doughnuts and ended up walking out with a box of 12, and then headed back to Bruiser patiently waiting in the car park. I tried changing the station again but he was still having none of it. So, we listened to the same songs on the way home that we'd listened to on the way there. Pulled up outside the house, and my mum's automatic thing to do is to turn the volume down low ready for when my dad gets in to go to work, and what happens? The volume changes. I press eject, Rudimental's CD pops out. I change the radio station, it changes straight away. Bruiser waited until we got back home to decide that Capital FM wasn't that good of an idea.

I'm telling you, that car has a mind of his own and he does things like this on purpose.

What an amusing story to read during my boring art class. Made me chuckle a bit too.

On a serious note, do you have any idea what may have been the cause of it?

Not sure. It's happened before, but not to this extent. Usually after a few minutes it started working again but this time it was a good few hours before any of the buttons decided to respond. It may have something to do with how the radio doesn't fit properly like it's supposed to. We used to have a Kenwood head unit, but we took that out a few years ago and put the stock one back in, and for some reason when we put it back in it wouldn't fit, so the left side actually pokes out a little bit. We tried pushing it in and pressing the buttons but that didn't help.

That car sounds just a little possessed. Ever read Christine by Stephen King?

Yes, I have, and I've watched the film. One of my favourite books! Whenever Bruiser does something trollish my dad hums the theme that plays in the film when Christine is about to do something.

This might sound like a stupid idea but have you tried putting a CD cleaner into the player? Like the CD with little brushes on it.
If the player doesn't recognize there's a CD in it, that might fix it. If it just doesn't eject, there might be a loose mechanical thingy. Something similar to how my cupholder was broken.

Or you can try punching it a few times

Tyre , tire spray is evil. Don't use it. It use products that will dry out the plastic of the tire and as it sticks less than gel, it sprays all over when driving thus getting it on body panels.

Use gel.

This. The gel is your best bet.

It's not the CD player itself that was the problem.. It was the whole head unit that didn't work, including the volume controls by the steering wheel. If it was just the CD player that didn't cooperate, I would've probably thought of using a CD cleaner.

I did think this, but I didn't know where the gel was and my dad just told me where the spray was. Next time I'll ask for the gel. :P

Swearing at it seems to work, too. 👍

Gosh darnit, this is where I went wrong! All I did was a Homer Simpson "Why you little!"

Bruiser still wanted to listen to Capital FM today. My mum had gone to the post office to get the car tax renewed so I waited in Bruiser and took a video of his non-responsive radio. The volume dial and on/off button inside it works, but nothing else does. Also YouTube says the video is blocked in some countries because it contains Usher's new hit. So, if it's banned in your place of residence, I'm sorry, but blame YouTube.

On our way into town I tried out the CD button again and this time it worked, but probably because 5 Seconds of Summer came on and even Bruiser doesn't want to listen to that. However, we now have the problem of the CD being stuck on. Hopefully my dad doesn't notice that there's a CD playing and not the radio... or when he goes to change back to radio, Bruiser obliges.

You could try disconnecting the car battery for a while because the head unit should then reset and get out of whatever glitch it's stuck in. Just make sure you have the PIN and instructions to hand when you turn it back on.

Good idea, never thought of this. Although, it has done this before on a previous battery, however it only lasted for about 3 or 4 minutes. This is lasting for hours at a time. I'll see if I can try it out tomorrow. 👍
