Morning everyone, hope you all had a good New Years!
On to business shall we? To touch on the subjects you brought up Lessen, we have had a fair bit of consistency in the group. Die, yourself, coach, me and a few others, we are regular. So I think we can build at least two, possibly 3 teams of 3, and rotate every Tuesday. Or perhaps once a "season," if you all are of a mind. I've talked with Zer0 and was given the OK to run on SNAIL once a month, during the tour car events off week. So, my idea is that we can get 3 weeks running some "scrimmage" events or if we have enough teams, do some sort of competition through the month with that one SNAIL event run as a sort of championship main event. I like the notion of teams, especially when it comes to getting things organized before the night starts. For all of my patience, I don't like waiting. So getting people to show up with the right cars and in the right colors would be awesome, and allow us to get more track time, instead of waiting for someone to jump out and grab something, then head back in. As for the cat issues. As much as you guys may want a "vague" PP range, I have been considering just restricting it to a few cars. every week we kinda "float" the PP range as it is already. But still we have people show up and we have to span it a bit more to include more people. I would rather just have a set list and say, get one of these three cars to use instead. I think this will head off most of the "will this car work?" issues.
Head count will be 3 to a team as default, however it is mostly based on participation. We ran a 4 on 4 last week, because 2 full teams I feel is better that 2 teams of 3 with 2 tom cats, and 4 teams of 2 doesn't work well. Boost will stay at low. Its nice to have when you are the mouse that is way back. I want the finishes to be very close. The only point of this event is fun, something I would like to maximize.
We already try to coordinate colors as much as possible right now, so I don't think it really needs to be discussed, as it is something we are striving for anyway.
Now my question to you guys. Would you like to keep running this in public rooms or should we go private? Having randoms drop in, try to run them through the rules and waiting on them to find/get the right cars takes away from track time at best. However, we did have a couple of good experiences this past week as two fellows that joined us seemed to know the game already and meshed well. I personally am split on the subject. Setting up teams would be easier and chaos kept to a minimal, but we may be able to get bigger fields leaving it open.
