I use WinMX for MP3 and big programs. Kazaa lite for small programs only.

DC++ is a P2P client that was supposedly built only with C++. It's only 300KB to download. http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/
The only downside is that most of the servers require you to have at least 5GB of files to share. Well! Excuse me for not being an 1337 leecher!

5GB!!!

I've only used about 3GB of my whole hard drive so far. Now, if I had broadband that would be about 30GB.

Erm, I share about 2.5 gigs and I can get on to about 10 servers.

I have no problem sharing files as long as I can get everything I want and DC++ has had everything I have wanted so far. I highly suggest it.

How are you confused with WinMX? It is pretty straighforward. Do you need more servers or something? I have attached a ".wsx" file of Open Nap servers for use in WinMX.

Just open WinMX, click on the server tab, and click OpenNap Protocol Servers. Then click "import .wsx" and open the .wsx file I have attached.

That is the only challenging thing I can think of with WinMX. Searching and downloading are pretty easy.

Okay, so I should download DC++ although Viper Zero reckons you need to share at least 5GB on most servers.

And, I have no problem with searching and downloading, it is just that the transfer screen is so different to Kazaa and everything seems like jibberish to me.

Uninstalling WinMX. Don't like it.

I'm thinking of trying out Lime Wire because Kazaa is on the Fast Track network and Lime Wire is on the Gnuttela network. In other words, I'd find more files. ;)

Umm, you just connect to as many servers as possible then click on a user's name to search their shared files or click on the magnifying glass on the top toolbar to search every user for a specific file.

Yeah. I got the hang of it now. Thanks Klos.

I'm sharing just over 500MB at the moment and I have gotten into 3 hubs so far.

I can't believe anyone would dislike WinMX. It is the absolute best for MP3s. DC++ looks really good, but I don't have the insane amounts of files needed to log on to the servers.
