Sony/PD will loose more money with the MTX-scam, than they would loose without it. Believe me.

The disaster is perfect now. I refunded my version and got 100€ back. And i NEVER would have bought ingame-credits for 100€. So they lost money. This will apply to other people to.
There is just a problem. A big one. There are people like me who got the Disc and not from the PS Store and I don't wanna get ripped off by Gamestop for a tiny amount of money. Sign this https://chng.it/JVTSpV5dSm

You'd be surprised. I've already seen a handful of comments here of people saying they bought the $20 one.

I'd never buy them either but there are a lot of groups of people who will.

  • Young children who don't yet understand the value of money and just ask their parents to buy them, who oblige once or twice.
  • The same young children whose parents foolishly let them buy things themselves
  • Adults with plenty of money who don't care, it's an easy alternative for them. Like rich people and parking fines, that's just how much it costs to park there to them. AKA the whales.
  • Adults who don't have plenty of money but who are psychologically hit by FOMO worse than us, and just cannot resist.
  • Adults who just think "It's only $5, just a cup of coffee right, why not?". Or even "Hell I just got paid today, that Merc is nice, I'll just drop the $20 for it". They think that several times, it all adds up.

As I've said before, make no mistake in thinking PD just slapped all these mechanics together at a whim, and priced the MTs at a whim. They didn't. We know how these companies work in this regard, they put a LOT of time and research into what will work and what won't. Why isn't there a 1M credit MT? Why not a 20M one? Because they've worked out that the prices they've got now will work best. Same with the FOMO elements. They've decided on what is just the right level very carefully.

Will many people buy a $200, 20M one? No. Will they buy a $20 one 10 times over the course of a few years? Yes.

EDIT: Like this guy, for instance:

Highly Doubt it.

NO way in hell they ran a bunch of test groups with this MTX pricing and came out with positive results, no way.

I have no doubt it must have been the whim of one fool in charge at the top that decided it all and no one had the balls to call out his stupidity at the Studio nor would he listen if they did.

The MTX idiocy follows the long standing PD track record of bad design choices and Kaz own deluded explenations for it. AKa we priced the cars like real life, as if billionares out bidding each other for rare cars has any logical relevance in a game.

Its all his mind boggling out of touch decisions, hes the top dog at PD and Sony is rather hand off at their top studios as long as they sale and GT has always sold. Plus look at every other Sony exclusive game, no MTX even remotly close to this mess.

Mr Yamauchi san. This is a start to come out and tell us all about the problems, but the decals are gone from all my car liveries and after all the updates it's still no bloody good. Is this going to be rectified? Are we to be compensated in any way? waiting for your reply.
I'm not sure if you're aware of this considering you signed up here quite recently, but Kaz/Polyphony Digital do not interact or reply to GTPlanet. This is just a fan site. Though I do recommend you check out this thread since it seems you appear to have the same issue regarding the decals.

When Take 2 Interactive went after OpenIV for GTA V, a review bombing on Steam followed attended by this petition. https://www.change.org/p/rockstar-games-save-openiv

Conclusively, Take 2 retracted its cease and desist request/order against Developer Alexander Blade with the only condition to discontinue the Liberty City Project and he continued his work until this day.

Since I deem Kazunori/PD to be more kind to fans, and step one is done on Metacritics, why don‘t we start our own?
I will say first off, I totally get the goal you're after; I think a petition is usually worth pursuing.

That said, Take 2 went after Alex because, iirc, they thought him modding was messing with their game/property, so there's a bit more at stake there. I know Alex beat the case, but Take 2 unfortunately, still watches the community with a close eye. I believe the NoPixel community, has to stay 2 updates behind GTA Online to keep Rockstar out of their hair from a legal point.

They wanted him to stop working on OpenIV as well as that Liberty City Mod but failed. If they watch then only regarding GTA Online Money Glitches and we all know the last draconian punishments but you cannot complain like "How dare you stopping and punishing us for cheating?!". Anyway by what you say that means that there is less at stake for PD and more for the players.

Not a chance, sorry. You don't frame an entire game around FOMO and MTs on a whim.

There are TED talk-esque things out there on MTs and how developers come up with them, they're never on a whim.

Haha no I just used the stock 964 RS red… the rest is decals, a few of mine have already been banned so it’s probably not long for these 😂
Keep fighting the good fight. Any chance you could share your psn id? I'm sure there is a few of us that would like to download and follow your liveries.

I did it people. https://chng.it/JVTSpV5dSm I hope you support it and are happy with the demands.

Just like the the Crew 2 where a lot of cars are like 200k when they are not suppose to be originally.

Its all geared towards making us pay rather than doing the exhausting grind.
I wasted a considerable amount of time grinding in The Crew 2 to get the Nissan R390. It was tedious but the sense of achievement was massive. Maybe that speaks to my life experience where I've had to work bloody hard to get what I want. Not many people have the same kind of drive or motivation that I do, which is probably why I've shrugged off a lot of these issues. If I want something, I will get it by whatever means necessary.

I do not speak for everybody when I say this.

I have that motivation in real life. I don't in a damn video game which Is supposed to take me out of the reality and let me have fun.

I don't know how many times that has to be said, games were created to be fun. Not to be a continuation of the hard working life.

The issue is when grinding is the only option.

I personally don't feel doing the same races over and over again to buy a car rewarding at all. What would be more rewarding in my view is these legendary cars being gifts for winning very difficult, gruelling races, such as endurance races.

There really should be an option. Repeat some races to get the money so you can buy the car from the legendary dealership, or win a difficult championship so you can have it gifted to you. Everybody wins that way!

?

I also had disc-version (25th AE).

Everybody has the right, to get a full refund. No matter if disc-version or digital.

Because Sony changed the credits-payout AFTER release. This is not allowed. Very simple.

My idea of fun is getting rewarded after a painstaking process. To get to the good, you need to go through the bad. I know I shouldn't apply this logic to a video game but I don't have a lot going on in my life.

Grinding is just all to do with mental attitude, once you have somewhat skills. 5,5M earned for me within 22 hr window, almost 1000km driven. 500 Mondial bought and halfway to C89 Sauber.

At times the grind felt tough, but you can't give up, if you want to achieve your goals. Key is to find something to think about, to keep you positive. For me it is like focus on trying to drive as fast as possible and perfecting the corners. If you start to think how much there is left to drive, you just start to feel bad, and then it is so easy to give up.

Less time to drive on Sunday due to personal stuff, but 2 hrs of driving that much I can find, to get the remaining 1,5M for C89.

With FIA coming up, this is probably the last huge grind for some time.

You have to literally convince yourself you're having fun, and that this is worth doing, because it isn't actually either of those.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I consider videogames as a form of escapism.

Or I could put another game in my console and actually have fun. I could even put another GT game in, where a McLaren F1 cost 1M credits, not 18.5M.

Mate, out of curiosity, no hate or judgement your way, what was your thought on the pay cuts to several races? It seems to me the original payouts were already seen as painstaking (grind-wise) by many, but they accepted trudging through them.

Can't wait to spend $180 because I don't have 30 hours to grind a horrible rally event just so I can use the McLaren F1 which is no doubt one of the most popular cars ever made with a legacy that stretches three decades worth of video game renditions!!!!!!

I'm broken, I'm actually resorting to pointing out that FH5 is free on GamePass for $15 a month 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

It's the out of season april fools joke again, except April Fool's is like in two weeks...
