Kenny's Muscle Car Competition Week 2

We had a fantastic first showing.

This week's theme will be vintage.

Imagine you are sifting through boxes in your attic, when lo and behold you find a dusty box labeled 'photos.'

As you sort through the old pictures, your grandfather walks up to you and tells you a story of how he used to (insert cool story here).

Ok, so the challenge is give me a muscle car photo in which it looks old and real. Photoshop may be used. There are various ways to achieve this. You can simply do black and white, which will specify to me that this picture was taken by a professional photographer. The framing and quality better match this, then. Keep in mind a pro photographer is not gonna bother taking nice pictures of a crappy car in a crappy setting.

You can also add noise in PS, add holes, burn or water marks, etc etc but none of that is NECESSARY....just icing on the cake. Don't add it for the hell of it, use it sparingly/wisely. The great thing is that by adding noise to a B&W photo, the original quality doesn't have to be superb.

If you insist on doing color, the color MUST be in technicolor style, so it looks like it's from the 60s or 70s.

Eligibile cars are anything before 1980. 1979 is 👍 ; 1980 is 👎 .
Again, 5 photos per participant. This comp. ends June 25th around 3PM.

Examples of eligible photos (latter one being edited by melaniemoon if memory serves me right)

well i have ONE so far... i have to go photomode-ing..

might help if i put in the photo eh? :dunce:

Cool, I like how you personalized it with the text and the border. Definitely like how you faded it, although it may be a bit *too* much faded, if you catch my drift - pun intended :)

there is no pun, i was attempting a donut.. lol, and the fade is from age, not the photo thats been in a box forever..

Div is back
Here are some of my idears.

The last three are nice. 👍

Let's just say that 'bonus points' will be given to those who use a location that doesn't give away the age...for instance, one Times Square shot you have is clear and gives away the age because of the ads and such. But the others don't, which is why I like them better. Keep that in mind guys :)

Cool theme, very detailed. I think I'll take a pic in the next couple of days, then put in some time with an application. I ain't got PS, but I've got Macromedia Fireworks, so I'll see how I get on with that.

Pic number one, I'll see if I can get another one up in time, but for now this is it:

Feedback?... :nervous:

"Coffee stain" gone... :)

Another if there's time?...

Nice pictures 'Div is back'! I really like the 4th one of yours. I'm not keen on muscle cars but this thread is pretty nice IMHO. I'll see what I can do... :)

thats just a noise filter... that was mono-toned.. no big secret, [no offense to whomevers that is]

edit.. i've chosen what i want to work with.. now i have no way of adjusting my photos or making my stuff black & white.. [aside from photomode] because my CS2 trial ran out.. but i'm still gonna see if i can take NE bettar shots..

Interesting theme. I'll post something towards the end of the week (friday is still OK I suppose?)

Still, I'll have to use plenty of imagination to get into this story. See, if my grandfather would suddenly show up and tell me a "cool" story from the days he was young, the story would have HORSES in it, no cars, especially not some American ubercars from distant future. I'm not sure if there even was a road to the place where he lived as a boy. Just one of those moments that reminds me how we, global users of the internet, do come from different cultures and have seriously different backgrounds (family, national, whatever)...

Ill work on, some shots tonight.....If worse comes to worse, Ill do what "Div is back" did and desaturate color pics 💡

Im not sure how to "add age" to photos , so Im not going to try to wing it by adding a bunch of filters on a pic :indiff: So they will be pretty clean instead of aged.

Friday is perfectly fine. I just added the deadline to the original post, sorry for originally forgetting that.

If your grandfather's idea of lots of horsepower was a team of wild horses, then substitute your dad or something :P

That's so true about everyone having different backgrounds. That's what I like about the net.

@suzq044 - all of your pics in post 19 are eligible except this: http://img300.echo.cx/my.php?image=032mc.jpg
