Just over 13 hours till Round 2 at Mount Panorama. It’s going to be a tough race for sure, I’m going to predict 4 safety cars and the first 1 on lap 1 .

We have 5 in Gr4 & 2 in Gr3. If anyone wants to switch to Gr3 to even us up feel free to do so. It seems @HammyMansell has gone AFK for now so we may need a new team mate for @GT5Apex if anyone wants to step up đź‘Ť.

Some small things to note but fundamentally nothing has changed from round 1;

@Chillgamer190 is going to host a party chat during the race. Feel free to join in but don’t feel you need to if you don’t wish too. The Party chat can be used to request and dispatch the safety car. (The text chat will still be used at all times as in previous rounds, for those not in the party or if the party fails for whatever reason.)

Also a little reminder that if the SC is deployed, only the p1 of each class needs to queue up first. Drivers in p2 and below, do not allow p1 to gain a lap on you if they are in front of SC. (Caveat to this is, during the mountain section, I would advise no passing of the SC due to risk of an incident).

Gr4 cars are not expected to yield to Gr3 over the mountain, the time difference between cars is a lot less compared to Gr1/3. Gr3 cars may make a pass on Gr4 but only if they can do it safely.

Obviosly watch out during the pit entry, especially if you have damage. If you hit the wall or go into the gravel you will be reset to track and have to complete another lap - it’s happened to me many times

Good luck, have fun

As Part time drivers : @O604 @DelboyD, Does either of you want to be sporting and join Gr3 for tonight? Currently we have 6 Gr4 and only 2 Gr3.

Don’t forget you’ll be guaranteed a podium in Gr3, so potentially more points for the Driver Championship.

This series was setup just for fun, so we could all experience racing different classes of cars alongside each other.

If nobody offers to switch, @Sniparator i’ll need you to go Gr3 as your last to sign up (unless someone else turns up last minute)

Cheers đź‘Ť

Nah sorry, I don't plan to go at it with a Gr.3 so I guess it'll stay 2 cars in that category.
Have done all practice in the Cayman so far so I guess I just wasted time :/

Notice about SC deployment
  • Please flash your headlights if you are queuing behind me. By doing that, I will know that I need to pick up the speed (since i will go slower if no one is queued up)
Ideally, I want the party chat to be 100% race control. So it's just me saying "Safety Car deployed" And "Safety car in, green lights". Additionally, I can also say how much time there is left until the race ends.
Please leave your thoughts about the party chat feature, I'll look forward to what you guys think about the concept.
-----------

Now with that out of the way, I think I need a safety car for the safety car XDD

Also, this is going to be a busy evening for me

It only takes 2 cars for a race, I'm sure we'll have a good fight in GT3 even if it is only 2 cars. More in Gr.3 means we have a bigger fight at the top, more in Gr.4 means we have more traffic to navigate, I'd say we gain either way, the more the merrier whichever category they race .

Ey, no need to be sarcastic about it.

@DelboyD , @Sniparator do either do you 2 want to go back to full time??
I’ll drop Hammy to part time so we have 3 running teams again.
Don’t worry if you can’t. I might try and come up with something where @GT5Apex team mate is randomly chosen every week or something.

The Group 3 Lexus isn't a death trap at Bathurst, so happy with that! :)
It's a really nice car to drive around almost every corner. There is one bump at the top of the mountain that you know nothing about until you catch It, then your front wheels leave the ground and you WILL crash.

The big front engine cars are great on the downhill, I love the M6.

I've been dropping down to 4th for the 2nd left at the top of the mountain. Nice turn in after the bump and zips around the corner without too much risk of overshooting it.

I've done more miles this evening at Bathurst in a Group 3 car than I've done overall since the game came out!

(I've done plenty in Group 4 though. I'm a Megane fan at Bathurst!)
