I watched the race from the stands tonight and man are those GR.1 cars fast! Watching them pass the GR.3 cars was awesome. It was also nice to see a Lamborghini out front of the GR.3 cars leading laps.

Well, I can't shake the feeling that I let myself down tonight.

After the practice session the other night, I felt I might be able to make a decent race of it, as I was reliably getting the car around not too far off @GOTMAXPOWER 's pace, but come tonight I wasn't able to get near that pace at all.

I ran a couple 58s in practice but couldn't seem to break 2 minutes in the warmup. Not that it would matter, of course, as on my out lap I overshot the last chicane and caught the wall on the outside, taking front AND rear aero damage, and suspension damage. Ended up putting in a lap slower than GT3 pace, but I doubt id have outqualified GMP and @Timlour who were both looking very speedy.

Oh well, I chugged past the traffic on the rolling start and got in place to do what I could. I had the feeling GMP would get away pretty quick, and I actually managed to nail the start, getting ahead of Timlour into T1 and...

...yeah, this is becoming an unfortunate routine. I overshot T1 somehow, think I just didn't brake quite enough, and spinning, caught another face full of barrier. This knock gave me all kinds of damage including engine and the car was at around gr.3 pace for the first lap.

I resolved to pit for mediums, so I could stay out as long as possible to take advantage of any lucky break I might get with a crash up front. I did have fun blasting my way back to p3 through the traffic on lap 2. I was pissed off and trying to keep a cool head, so sorry if I cut past anyone too aggressively there.

Eventually I was lapped, which gave me the opportunity to pretend to be in P1 for a lap or two, which is enough entertainment for me. I still can't fathom how GMP can drive the ts050 with the brakes all the way back like that, it looked like a real skittish beast while I was behind you.

Credit to GMP and Timlour, it seemed like they didn't put a foot wrong, so no dice for me. I noticed my teammate @Kermit_2142 was running well in gr.3 so as much as I probably wanted to just retire, I stuck in it. I enjoy the track, at least.

In the end, I split my second stint into two sets of softs. At that stage I just wanted to get around comfortably, without struggling with the car on worn tyres.

One positive I can take away from this race is that, aside from my T1 idiot moment, I got around clean without ruining anyone's race. I had fun navigating the traffic, but the pace just wasn't there. I ran fewer than ten laps under 2 mins, and the other boys were managing 56s and 55s.

The car looked damn good though. I think I did my best work for this race in the livery editor.

Good points haul for the team, at least, and everything is experience, so on to the next one.

Thanks to Kermit for hosting another great race, and to everyone who turned up, let's hope I can manage a better performance next time out.

That was a really fun race once again, thanks all for coming!!

Really good to see both classes were evenly matched with both grids being very tight. I have a new appreciation for super pole, I still haven’t managed to nail the “perfect“ lap in qually out of 4 rounds. I wasn’t expecting it to be so difficult. Just shows how much skill it takes to pull one out the bag when it matters

Really enjoyed the race, it’s a totally different perspective having the Gr1 cars flying up behind you. Luckily the game give you a lot of warning with the blue flags and I managed to drop fairly lucky with where they caught me up as I was able to keep out the way for the most part.

The Gr3 was a tough race only really decided by mistakes and incidents throughout the race. I managed to crash on lap 1 thinking my race was over. However got my head down and managed to slowly slowly catch up and have some great battles along the way. I tried a different strategy in pitting early for my first stop and not taking on fuel to keep the car light. Combined with others mistakes meant I was able to fight for the win. It’s a shame we didn’t have the Safety Car, it would’ve closed the field up at crucial points and would have made for a really intense race.

I will have to watch the replay and catch up on the Gr1 battle that almost went down to the last lap!!!

Don’t forget that we role straight into the next race at the ring, next Saturday (27th June).

Congratulations to all and hopefully see you at the next one.

I had to watch the replay a couple of times to fully understand what had happened. It was a good fight all race with @Timlour and we were only a few seconds apart when I caught Soff in the Porsche so I went for a gap that was never really there and destroyed the car. After the pitstop I was driving flat out to try and close the gap but with a couple of minutes left realised I was half a lap short on fuel so started playing about in Maps 3/4, the fuel range was showing 0.9 laps at the end.

I thought we were okay on time but that fuel saving had cost a couple of seconds. The race time on my replay is 1:30:00.250s which means I missed the line by quarter of a second. According to the replay Timlour had even less fuel than me, if I had made the extra lap we would've probably both run out in the last sector and had a 50mph drag race to the line!

Congratulations to @Timlour, I don't think the Peugeot was as quick as the Toyota but he was on it all race, these races are getting better every week!

Just watched the replay, was planning on just skipping through but there was so much going on I pretty much watched the whole thing .

The fr cars still struggled with front tyre wear, it really influenced their races as they had good pace on fresh tyres. Many mistakes were the story for most people’s races. @Timlour got lucky on the last lap running out of fuel but taking the win with no one to challenge him to the line. :scared:

I need to get a livery sorted for the Gr4 Huracan and then start running some laps at nurb because I really don’t know my way round at all, slightly regretting bringing the race forward now .

As the vote for the previous BOP was a huge majority, I've gone ahead and updated the BOP to the latest version of 17th June.
Damn, I was hoping the Audi would lose weight and gain power

I tried the Nurburgring on the weekend, the tyres were going off after 2 laps, you can try the 3rd (I haven't checked fuel, it might be impossible) but it's a long drive back if you've been to abusive to them.

The Audi never seems to get adjusted In the BOP updates .

Yes tyres are fuel are a bit more of a factor in this one. I wanted to make the undercut more viable as overtaking will be more difficult and mistakes and accidents are bound to happen.
I figured to make this one a bit more about consistent driving with more potential strategies instead of the usual 2 stop flat out I balanced the other races to.

I am a bit disappointed that the forum doesn't send me a notice when I was tagged in this.
When I get home next weekend I'll read through the whole thread and see if I can fit in a race as reserve.
Hard to commit to Saturdays without getting in trouble at home :)

Yes I’ve had that, I don’t think it’s a glitch, they just get lost in with everything else. Would be nice if they stood out a bit more over the normal alerts but it’s no big deal.
Plenty of spaces at the minute although we do seem to be getting busier going forward. We’ve had some really good races so far, it’s been good fun 👍.

If they never adjust it can't they just make it 100/100 and make the others fit around it :P

I think this race will be 3 stops or 5 but I'm not sure which is quicker, 2 lap stints is safer with the twitchy mid-engine cars. It will be interesting who chooses which and how it plays out.

Perfect, I planned it to be a even 3 stop but hoped a sketchy 2 stop, an uneven 3 stop (to dodge traffic) or a safe 4 stop could also work out too.

Practice session tonight at 23:00 uk / 18:00 est for Saturdays race at Nurb 24hr.

If your doing any practice on your own the time setting for the race is 10am cloudy. I was planning to run the misty evening one but the mist gets annoying after a few laps (find myself squinting) and the other early/late slots have really bad pop in shadows which is a shame.
Cloudy has good clarity for looking for brake points etc and it’s feels a bit more real over the sunny settings.

I’m starting to get the hang of the ring, the Gr4 Huracan is a real pleasure to drive round there. Still haven’t managed to do a lap without a crash though, although I’m down to only 1 crash a lap now which is a huge improvement .

Don't think I'll make this one, having a 4 hour race at Le Mans later that night. The grid's stacked and I'd like to have some time to prepare.

I haven't managed to find anything concrete but I've been advised that pit loss at Nurb 24Hr is around 10s (don't me hold me too it though as I haven't tested it). From last nights practice it looks like Gr4 can do 3 laps on softs ok and Gr3 2 laps on softs/mediums depending on how you feel about the tyre wear. I have to say @GOTMAXPOWER Gr3 Audi was looking a handful, its going to be a long race for you . Lap times between the groups is just over a minute so I expect Gr4 to start being lapped at around the hour mark which should make the last half and hour quite interesting.

For those not already signed up, race night is tomorrow 23:00 uk / 18:00 est. Plenty of spaces in both Gr3 and Gr4.

I did the @Granadier race here a couple of weeks ago in the Porsche and it was great, you could push to the limit every single lap and it would never punish you. With the Audi you can't lean on it at all, it lets go in the middle of the corners with no warning and once that's happened the tyres are overheating and you have no grip at all. Even with that it's a quick car, the FL last night was only a couple of seconds off the Porsche even with tyre wear 3x higher. I reckon I'll be visiting the barriers a lot. At least the brakes work on the R8, @MaxAttack in the NSX is going to be swearing a lot.

@Chillgamer190 Are you going to be racing in Gr3/4 in this one?

We're hoping @MaxAttack doesn't bottle it this time, no pressure bud ;).

I'm going for the "slow and steady wins the race" approach. Soff was showing good pace in Gr4, hopefully he can make it, he is possibly sending his ps4 off to be repaired so may have to bail.

I don't think Gamer is keen to race, even after I fluttered my eye lids at him  (still crossing my fingers though). I could do with the company in chat, its going to be a looooong 90 minutes.

@Kermit_2142
I think the fuel cons. Is to high or is it just me.
I get 2.7 laps

Yes just short shift a little, I was able to get 4 laps shifting at 40-50%, the Lambo is good on fuel though. I think pitting every 2 or 3 laps won’t be too much different in overall time due to tyre wear.

edit: I get 2.9 flat out.
