@Sven Jurgens is this something you would be interested in, Gr3 or 4 on your favourite track?

You can shift really early in the M4 without losing much time. It was massively OP originally so they changed the overall consumption. 2.7 is about the same as I'm getting in the R8 GT3.

Looks to be a good race, however 6pm tomorrow I'll be collecting my kids from the grandparents or they will be dropping them off here. I need to move to a different timezone :)

I did the @Granadier race here a couple of weeks ago in the Porsche and it was great, you could push to the limit every single lap and it would never punish you. With the Audi you can't lean on it at all, it lets go in the middle of the corners with no warning and once that's happened the tyres are overheating and you have no grip at all. Even with that it's a quick car, the FL last night was only a couple of seconds off the Porsche even with tyre wear 3x higher. I reckon I'll be visiting the barriers a lot. At least the brakes work on the R8, @MaxAttack in the NSX is going to be swearing a lot.

@Chillgamer190 Are you going to be racing in Gr3/4 in this one?

For now not, But I think I might not 100% sure yet...

######### Race Day Notification ########
Just over 4 hours to go until we start for Round 4 at Nurburgring 24Hr. We currently have 7 attending with a possible 8th and an even split between Gr3 & 4. We have NO Safety Car for this event and Damage will be set at Light Only.

Manual Rolling Start
We will still use a manual rolling start as normal and it will be Gr3 that lead the way tonight. Any Gr3 cars that have qualified below Gr4 will be allowed to join the back of the Gr3 pack during the rolling start. Gr4 are expected to hold at least a 1 second gap from Gr3. As the lap is so long we will shorten the formation lap and the Race will start after the Dunlop Hairpin at the bottom of the GP circuit.

Overtaking
So far this season we have had very clean racing 👍, however the Nurb is a different beast and I am anticipating accidents to happen. As normal if you make a mistake please give the position back and then carry on as normal. Tyre and fuel wear have been increased slightly for this race over previous rounds to allow strategy to be used to counter the lack of overtaking opportunities.

For Gr3 cars lapping Gr4, I expect this to happen at around the hour mark which means theoretically you should have spread out and settled into your races by this point. The difference between Gr3 and Gr4 in the tight sections is marginal so please be very patient with your overtakes. Gr4 you are not expected to leap out the way of an upcoming Gr3 car, however a slight lift on a straight (especially if you have time and space around you) to allow the Gr3 cars past might be a wise choice. The blue flags will be waved with plenty of notice so just do your best or at least just hold your normal racing line and let the Gr3 find a way through themselves.

Hopefully I will have the lobby open a little early as usual, Good luck to all and enjoy the race

Thanks for the race guys. It was by far the hardest one so far, Nurb is such a demanding circuit and it really showed who was and wasn’t on pace.

There was quiet a field spread that I had not anticipated. Myself and @MaxAttack at Team Dark Souls got a royal spanking with both @GOTMAXPOWER and @GT5Apex taking pole and then the win for their team in Gr3 and Gr4 respectively. Kudos to @Timm Sheehan for sticking it out in the troublesome Lambo, we had a nice little battle on the first lap before a huge accident which would’ve probably killed us both in real life  (Also props to Apex for that move 👍).

One day I will feel more comfortable around the ring but the sheer commitment into corners from the 2 winners today was simply outstanding and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to get near that pace :bowdown:.

We move onto the next round in 2 weeks time at Dragon Trail Gardens with the return of the Gr1 and Gr3 cars. Hopefully see you all there .

Good race - lonely and lacking a bit of action, but I'm happy with my drive.

I did a bit of spectate spying on @GOTMAXPOWER before quali. When I saw some of those braking points I thought, you know what, I'm three or four beers deep here, there's no way I'm touching this guy.

I was happy with quali where I got ALL the space and got around without any major incidents, and was VERY happy when I broke the "spin in T1 lap 1" curse that's been with me the last coupl of events.

@GOTMAXPOWER disappeared into the woods on lap 1 and that was all she wrote. Losing close to 20s per lap, there was no way strategy was going to make a difference, so with no threat from behind I resolved to settle in and basically cruise my way around, hoping the leader would crash and wedge that Audi between two barriers for about 3 minutes :P

Always enjoy the NSX. With -3 (forward) brake bias, it becomes a very stable car, even when the tires start to go a bit, and the fuel efficiency is insane. I pitted on my third lap with nearly a quarter fuel remaining, so I decided to see if the car was capable of a 4 lap stint. It managed it quite comfortably, the tire wear only really showing its head in the back half of that 4th lap.

If I'd had more raw pace, the Honda probably could have won based on fuel efficiency alone, I reckon. However I have to hand this one to the much faster man - although I think we were equals for hand pain, after 90 mins of the ring on a DS4.

Looking forward to the next one, fun track for both my cars.

EDIT: Fatigue was crazy in this, at some points in the final laps I was leaning on the brakes with my left hand, couldn't feel it at all :P

Yes I hate a great time - thanks for the awesome race. Sorry again for the collision on L1, somehow I lost it on that straightaway and didn't mean to take you out. I am going to watch the replay to figure out what I was having problems with on L3. That lap was worst than the entire night race a few weeks ago. Lambos are good cars, just takes a little practice to get used to their "oddities".

Somewhere around L4 or L5 the bleeping TV screensaver activated - of course I was in a corner. TV Screensaver won that battle but I won the war - that won't be happening again.

I relaxed in the pits after my eighth lap because my left hand fell asleep on me and I was trying to wake it up. That was a race to test your endurance skills for sure. I think I still have to complete my 30 or 60 lap challenge in the endurance section of the GT skills area. I am not sure I am up for that one.

Thanks again - enjoy the racing.

At the time I thought I was the one that lost it. Will have to watch the replay, but no worries i knew something was going to go down at some point . You got out of shape and we had a good run on you, we must’ve been at 120+ running side by side when it happened :scared:. Not to worry anyway it was a good crash at least

Congratulations to everybody who stuck with it last night, with the field spread and no safety car breaks it was a long race so tough to keep a good rhythm. I had the NASCAR race on my laptop and earphones in which probably helped the concentration.

The Audi was actually pretty nice on the tyres if you didn't race flat out, I think it was more of a temperature issue than wear causing the problems.

btw @MaxAttack probably didn't realise but he came within a couple of inches of taking pole...

That was as close as you wanna get to a crash .

But damn I don’t know how you drift it like that round the ring :eek::eek::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Hello. I can make this weekend’s race. GR3 Lexus for me.

Nice to have you with us!

I'll be there in group 3 with the NSX.

This is a fun track for both classes but I'm not sure anyone knows how a multiclass might play out here, traffic could get really interesting especially in that twisty middle sector.

Yh I thought this track would be really interesting to try out, should be good fun 👍

I’ve done a few laps at The Gardens. 20 laps or so, starting with full tank on soft tyres for pretty consistent laps in 1:31s.

Hoping to get into the 1:30s before Saturday.

Just over 24 hours to go until Round 5 at Dragon Trail Gardens with Gr1 & Gr3. Testing went well last night with both Gr1 and Gr3 putting in some good lap times. This track can be punishing if you get it wrong with most corners lined with barriers close to the track and curbs that will kill you given half a chance. Once you can get the flow of the track it really is fun to drive in both classes and also allows for good racing with plenty of overtaking opportunities.

Thanks to those who signed up early and for those not signed up there is still plenty of availability in both classes.

Have you picked a track time yet? I’ll be able to practice again later tonight.
