KERS/Electric Cars?

I was wondering and i do not know if any one else has wondered. If any thing KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) related will be in the game. I know that the Ferrari uses it in there F1 cars this year so with the F1 car in GT5 have a KERS. As well the new 2010 F450 has a road version of the F1 KERS system. So will they have it if there is the 2010 F450.

I was wondering if you think alternative Fuel vehicles or just electric in general will be included. i think it would be cool to race a Tesla i do not know if any one else feels that way. Not really looking for any thing hybrid related but then again i heard that Audi might be using a hybrid diesel in ALMS.

Just wondering if any one else has thought of this.

I believe GT4: Prologue was the first in the Gran Turismo series to have an alternative fuel vehicle, the Toyota Prius (which was of course in the full GT4 as well). So it shows Polyphony Digital are interested in including alternative fuel vehicles. I'm all for it, I want to see all types of cars in Gran Turismo.

All types is good - diesels, petrols and electrics all need to be driven differently to get the best out of them, in the same way turbo and NA cars have to be.

Honda FCX Clarity would be good. Hydrogen fuel cell Electric engine with approximately 134 BHP.

I would like to see Tesla's electric Pierce Arrow.
The car receives power wirelessly through an antenna, from the power point.

Sorry, but i just dont like electric cars, im more with Petrol, Diesel, Ethanol and Hydrogen Vehicles, but please!, no electric cars...thers just no emotion in driving a effing automatic with no sound.... D:

I just think there will be some electric prototypes,
but they will be in a minority.
Just like GT4 had some prototypes...

Actually I'm very interested in electric cars. So it would be great to have them in GT5.

If I had the opportunity to buy a Tesla model S, I wouldn't think about it twice. Granted, it makes practically no sound but you get so much more in return. Tesla model S is very fast (acceleration), very quiet, so less tress. Instant torque ... .

PD give us electric cars!

A racing event only for electric cars? that will be good for a laugh unless we happen to see concept cars like that 1000 horsepower Audi (Audi R-Zero Concept)

Electric cars ? no sound coming out the engine WTF ???? No way I'll stick to good old american cars. (hopefully there will be a couple in GT5)
KERS? on F1 cars that have it in real life yes.

The electric motor in the Tesla Roadster revs so high it sounds like a quieter F1 car. At least it did on Top Gear. To say that they don't produce a sound is ludicrous.

The more cars the better I say. Especially if the Tesla Roadster is in, that will be fun to drive. They could even include a G-Wiz for a laugh, G-Wiz Cup! LMAO

I understand what people are saying with the electric compared to the liquid fuel based cars. But the fact the electric car makes instant torque i am sure there will be some sick cars in the future and the Tesla is sweet. I mean the Citroen GT was a fuel cell car which is electric fueled by hydrogen, and i am sure that nobody was complaining about driving it. lol.

KERS though is no one else that interested in it or is it just me. I think it is cool maybe not affordable yet. But it is like a comes with car equipped nitrous button, but gains its power from braking.

The only problem I have with electric cars is that most are just ugly. The only brand of electric cars that are good looking are Tesla's.

As for KERS, I think it should only be on F1 cars as so far they are the only ones to really use it.

adds to the realism i guess, lexus rx400h and tesla roadster etc are cars i wouldnt mind driving.

yeh, they have instant torque, but i dont know why, they arent that agressive as a liquid fuel, maybe because of the 1 speed gearbox?..i just cant imagine an electric car giving the same sensation as a roaring zr1 burning tires at the start...but hey, its just a matter of tastes!

I wouldn't have a problem with electric cars, unless you could take some ridiculously powerful one-off electric car and win the 24 hours of Le Mans. Maybe a few events specifically for electric cars?

The Frisker Karma isn't that bad looking or at least i didn't think it was.

As for kers, yes i know what your saying but like i said 2010 F450 is going to have it in real life as of now. We will see when it is actually released. As far as the game it really would only be fun if the F1 had it because otherwise it is just an advantage for the F450 compared to other cars.

Well i am not positive on the Tesla, but i go to school for Automotive Technician and i am in classes right now where we are learning about Alt. Fuel cars. Any way the Toyota Pruis as a Variable transmission. So yeah it doesn't have gears but it does change gear ratio's so it really isn't different. Kinda like a CVT (Constant Variable Transmission), but it isn't because it uses a planetary gear set which a CVT does not.

Trust me I agree that i do not think that electric cars will ever be like petrol/diesel vehicles when it comes to feel. I heard a rumor that the 3rd gen prius has paddle shifters to give the sensation of having a gearbox, but honestly i love my clutch pedal and till they can simulate that i will not be satisfied with electric cars. At this rate though i do not think petrol cars will even have manual gearboxes here soon with this movement of paddle shifter cars and automatic clutches. Personally i hope it never comes to that but i would like to own a Fuel Cell car for a daily driver so i can keep my 1988 Mazda rx7 for my fun weekend warrior that is not so good for the environment lol.

You think this is boring????

With the Prius available in GT4, why not add this monster Supra, KERS included. (For those who don't know, this is the Denso SARD Supra GT HV-R that ran 1st place from start to finish in the 07 Tokachi 24 hrs.)
You'll start to realize that this is one of the most appropriate cars for GT's endurance races.

Actually, I do, i prefer doing a burnout in that ferrari, instead of doing a drag race without any sound coming from my vehicle, besides, with the cvt gearbox (which i hate, too) its possible to drift?...i dont know.

i think that world should go into hydrogen fuel cars, not electric cars, i dont know but if world go into only electric cars, then im statin that i wont be no longer fan of cars..they just make me want to puke:crazy:

I personally would say KERS wouldn't be a terrible feature, and that electric cars are actually a must have. Sure they wouldn't bode amazingly well in online because of the effects, but it will almost certainly, and probably successfully, be a good try out for gamers. After all, these things are pretty much the future and then some. I'd say KERS could be an add-on for certain cars in tuning, preferably in the 'Other' section, and there would definitely be no harm in having an Electric Car Championship for, quite obviously, electric cars. And they may very well need to have a button to activate KERS, I mean, it is technology. It will definitely be a decent feature, even if it never bodes well with F1 cars. Electric cars, slow as they are, will be as slow as they need to be. If we get enough + online events, heck, there could even be an electric car event!

The BMW/Aston Martin/Maserati looking front end kills the Karma.
