For all you Moms and Dads out there ...
I would love to know how your kids make your day. I mean I can have the worst possible day, yet when I get home and I see my son look up at me and just smile ... it takes away all the problems, stress or issues that have happened during the day.
I can be down or feeling a bit under the weather and just one smile or laugh just brightens up the world for me ...

I just wanted to hear your stories on what your kids do that just makes your day ...

Very good point there, but my son doesn't know the meaning of bed time. He'll only go to bed when mommy goes to bed ...

How old is he? My boys are 8 and 6. We've never had a problem with bedtime with them, thankfully.

Also, if he sleeps in your bed, stop that ASAP. Like I told my wife, if you don't want them doing something in 2 years, don't let them do it now. Worked out pretty well. So far...

Well my eldest boy is 4 ... he doesn't sleep with us in bed but on a make up mattress on the floor when he gets scared ... He shares a room with his older sister so he tends to sleep in his own bed most of the time ...

True though.

My 6 year daughter has an absolutely evil sense of humour which I get told off for by my wife! Apparently it's my fault when see runs up, quickly draws something on someone's face and runs off laughing. The fact that I laugh I think makes it worse. :sly:

Its like my youngest son who is 18 months old. When ever he hears a good song, be it from Metallica to Britany Spears, he will walk around bobbing his head like a head banger. Then when he gets more excited he will start stomping his foot to the rhythm of the song and bounce around like a monkey ...

You do get better parking spaces at the supermarket with kids. Almost as good as the disabled ones. :dopey:

The hell?!? Not in the US you don't. Unless you count parking next to the cart returns.

Really? We get parent and child spaces. They used to be called 'mother and child' but it went all PC a few years back.

I apologize Mrs. Famine ... OP has been edited ... I didn't realise that there are mothers on the forum aswell ...

Just remember to say that at the Canadian immigration office and everything should go swimmingly. :D

Well I was just thinking now that the moms always have the opportunity to share stories about their kids or are always open about that subject ... Fathers tend to be rather reserved about their kids so I thought that this would be a interesting thread to hear what stories the dads have ...

Thanks Axle ... But it is truth ... Moms tend to have the most fun when it comes to the kids ... And the dads just keep quiet ...

Maybe I am maybe I'm not ... I don't know if that's just the culture in my country or not, but I don't often hear the dads talking about there kids too much of the time ... I will always here a mother tell a story of how her child put on a fashion show for her and how adorable it was ire something , but I don't her fathers say that ... From what I've heard and experienced the dads don't divulge much about their kids ... Plus society does not help much ... Eg you will always see a mother and baby playing together in a baby product commercial ... But where's the father ... You don't often see a dad playing with his baby on tv ... But that's just my opinion ...

It's a valid one indeed too. But remember that you shouldn't get discouraged just because of these things you mentioned, besides things on TV are for a certain audience always. If you wanna express your love for your child do so. Don't mind anything else, actually nothing else should come between you and your kids.

If I come home from work and find my son has unpacked the dishwasher while I was out it makes my day:)

Pretty rare event is it Wenders?

Cheers Shaun.
He is getting better at doing it before he goes to work, maybe 3-4 times a week now. Really does make my day when I can come home and start on dinner and the dishwasher is empty.
