Koenigsegg breaks world speeed record

I dont know if this has been mentioned, but the koenigsegg team went to Nardo and set a new world speeed record of 388km/h (241.1182mph)

Wow! 1 mph faster, and its official. Andy Wallace already proved the F1 is still the unofficially fastest car not including Dauer's 404km/h.

A. Wallace achieved 391km/h with videos to show.

But Mclaren, the Koen is capable of 250, it just doesn't have a flat surface to do it, in the right conditions it can do 250. Well that's what MATH says anyway. I know the Dauer is faster though, it's got to be all the #'s make it the better car.

That 391km/h was done with the catylitic converters removed, meaning it doesnt count as a production car top speed wether it had been official or not doesnt even matter

And we all know...Catalytic converters change the entire car. Look at the 56 skylines in Gran turismo 4...It's those subtle differences that make it a completely different car
The R33 GTR 9cf Roger alfa bravo has 4 bolts on the cat....while
the r33 GTR 9f pollywantacracker has 3 bolts on the cat and saves weight...

Actually on a 600+Bhp V12, the extra power from removing the cat can make a noticable difference, and in the F1's case it did, because no stock F1 with it's cat in place got into the high 230's.

i have a movie of a guy driving a McLaren F1 at 391, i remember cause he says 391 like 6 times, at the end he tells the trans temp and stuff. prolly the same vid you guys are talkin about. Sad thing with the high end exotics these days are that the McLaren F1 and the Koenigsegg are million dollar cars. I know for a fact that you can take a RUF CTR2 or a Nismo Skyline GTR Z Tune and put like 2000 into them for tires, manual boost controller and welded center diffs and they will be faster untill they run out of gear then the McLaren/Koenigsegg will pass them. So why pay millions for a car that is named "worlds fastest car" if you can take low end cars and put money into them and be much faster while it costing less than half of what the "worlds fastest car" sticker is. Anyone who has bought these cars have never taken them that high, so its pretty dumb really.

If you seriously think that a Skyline GTR Z-tune can take a Mclaren F1 with as little as $2000 of tuning you dont know anywhere near as much aobut cars as you think you do buddy. Yes a Mclaren F1 costs a ****load more but those 2 cars are no where near being in the same league, not even close.
