La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

Now that all of the Nations/Manufacturers Cup racing is finished, I shall resume my fuel economy racing/ testing to find the best cars with the longest legs and with some challenge to the races also...
Collected some 2.1 credits for my efforts in the cup races so it was not a total waste of my time.

Took the "new" NSX around the track yesterday. My tune was rather basic. Aero front min, rear max and power restricted to 97% puts it at 699PP.
I can already see why people like this car so much. It's easy to drive and feels great around corners. Brakes are amazing! Tire wear is very good, my RHs still had about 2/3rds left after 7 laps. And fuel economy is also great! I started on FM4, saw 3.9 laps left on Mulsanne, turned FM down to 3. After 3 laps I still saw 0.9 left so I turned it down to FM4 and did a fourth lap. Did the next 2 laps on FM3 and had enough fuel left for the last lap on FM1.
Overall a really nice car for this race! Very pleasant ride but doesn't feel too OP. You won't take P1 within the first 2 laps but you should win in the end.

I'm getting 4 laps on FM2 and after that I go for the next 3 on FM1 I never go above FM2.👍

I also had a ride yesterday with it ,seems quite handful car with good fuel economy and tyre wear.
I hope ill try it again on Sunday and come back with more details.

PS
Serious problems in my life have put me out of order 100% that's why am lost .
Hopefully isn't health issues and they will pass ,but we ( me and Mary ) face a lot of hate and bullying from her own daughter and her husband that lead us to move in another house in 24 hours !!!!
Our life is getting back to normal and in a new era now .
That's in brief in case if someone wondering why am lost 2 weeks now.

I am a determined person, tried three times with the Volvo 240 with three different strategies, and with the luck of heavy weather and stupidity of AI, I finally was able to leave Le Mans with my head high.
With the total upgrade of anything possible and tweaking the suspension I was able to get three laps on FM1 and four or better on FM6.
I went with the speedy option on attempts one and two and could not get better than P4. On my third try I went with the fuel saver of FM6 and I got lucky with heavy weather, got IM tyres on at the third lap and never looked back after passing all the slower cars crawling in the rain.
So the Grocery Getter of Moms all over can win at Le Mans.

Oh, by the way, PD tightened up the track limit penalties at the WTC700 at Le Mans, I was getting penalties for things I would not before including the Mulsanne "bypass"

I took one today , put everything on it and try it for about half lap.
Since my settings was on normal mod i realise that didn't have a chance so i quit .
Perhaps in easy level is easier to achieve the win but can't see how will be doable in normal.

I took the new NSX after ,did one run for daily purposes and that's all.
Still can't find the best settings and the bloody weather isn't helpful.
Also at normal mod even if it's raining am forced to do 7 laps which is quite annoying sometimes running for more than 2 minutes plus to end it.

Well I had some rest time and two easy races done today.
The other new Volvo...only gets 3 laps on FM6 and is FF so will burn up the front tyres almost completely by end of race.
With full mods it still drives smooth with no twitchy moments. Just remember you will need to practice some fuel savings if you want to have some room in the front.

On second race I took the latest Skyline and gave it everything too, this one will do 4 laps on FM6 and is ok on tyres, they will last the entire race if careful and fuel saving. Good handling but will oversteer easy if hard on throttle.

I managed to win at easy level with the volvo 240 in a dry race and multi fuel saving mods.
Try also the new skyline but has a very awkward behaviour, he loose rear end suddenly exiting low speed corners without a warning.
First time i quit cause happens 4 times in first two laps , second time i finish it again on dry race but i won't come back to it.

At noon i run NSX in non turbo and high rpm turbo, need to test medium turbo and share my thoughts about it.
Both cases at FM1 can do 3 laps on AT .
Lap times are around 4.05 and less without surprises and tyres are doing fine.

My fix for this loose derriere was (temp) to up the TC to 2, (permanent) adjust the LSD acceleration down to 15 or lower.

Second attempt i also put TC at 2 but in that car feels like this :
Under certain amount of steering input ( red dot to the far left or right) he loose completely the rear end and is impossible to save it .

Not to mention that need a century to come back on track facing the the right way 😂 .

Anyway I won't bother with that car again , seems like waste of time at least at this pp range.

Today ill try the NSX again on med turbo .

I also thinking to do Billionaire challenge but i can't understand the reason to set a car at 700 pp exactly and what bother if its 699.89 or whatever .
So I'll skip that cause i can't find any logical explanation to follow the 700pp exact rule .

Just in case if anybody wants to know if the latest Civic we got in the game can win at Sarthe...

Unswapped and in a completly dry race:No...at least not with my abilities

Had two attempts with a completely tuned up version and finished 6th and after some minor adjustmets 4th in the second run.Had something around 650PP with RMs.Can do almost 3 laps on FM1(did some FM2 on my first lap) and RMs can do 3 laps as well(although the two front tyres look pretty bad at the end of lap3).Both races were completely dry and I did my usual 3(RM)-2(RS)-2(RS) strategy.
Best lap time was something around 4.25'
Had no chance to get close to the top 3 cars, they were 20seconds ahead of me...
Still liked that races because most of the time you are in the middle of all the traffic so it is not getting boring...

Swapped: Hell yeah!
In this race I got rain(laps 3,4 and 5) and an easy win(because of the odd pit strategy of the AI)
But also in a dry race this car will win.I put the Integra engine in and used most available tuning options. With RMs it comes up to 691PP, with RSs 699PP. Hits the 300km/h barrier at Mulsanne and is super fast around corners. To get 3laps you have to be on FM3, but it is still fast enough.Fastest Lap with RSs was the final lap on a dry track and it was a 4.15' lap...the tyre Situation is the same, you'll need at least RMs for three laps, the RSs can do a two lap stint...

Like most Civics it is a great car to drive...two thumbs up!!!

I gave it a try because it's a car I'd never driven, not a Viper fan. Tuned it up, matched the HP and got as close to 700pp as I could, whatever. What a car! Good fuel economy, 3 laps FM4, very easy on tires, legit sub 4 minute car! I got rain so no 8 laps, which I never do anyway, but found a new really good car.

Winning on normal with the 240 is doable, have won twice now, but you are reliant on the weather being helpful, and having to run a fairly aggressive set-up to hit 170mph on the straights and keep up with the AI, if you lose the slipstream from them it really hurts.

NSX run complete yesterday.
Put mid turbo and run 8 lap race .

Forgot to take a pic from gearbox which is exactly the same but i moved further the FG .
All settings are the same , what's different is the balast mostly and the ecu to fit the regulation.

IMG_20240603_195643364_HDR.jpg

High rpm

IMG_20240603_195616239_HDR.jpg

Non turbo

In my hands mid turbo wrote the first sub 4.00 lap but am not sure that other settings can't.
Need to do a time trial to be sure what faster version is.
Getting familiar with the car is logical to lower lap times at any settings but definitely is faster all versions than some videos i find at the net running with 200 kilos ballast .
FM 1 can pull exactly 3 laps on AT at all versions which means there's a lot room to play with FM mods and have just one stop according to the weather or your preferences.

GT one was a disappointment but the NSX is great and deserves a place in the griding mules camp.

At noon ill upload gearbox pic if someone wants to try any version and give his feedback.

Good afternoon, just finished my first race with the swap NSX Gr.4. I have three major points about this car. A) it drinks gas like the Sunday choir with fresh lemonade. B) totally OP and with tuning parts you can have more. C) how can you fit a 7L V-8 big block in the back of that small NSX?
The following is rough measurements I found online for the LS7 motor... "We just shipped an LS7 yesterday. I took a few rough dimensions thru the crate and these are right there. I had the crank centerline to top of intake at 18.5" and overall width at the outside of the exhaust manifolds at 28".
So i have to ask at roughly 22" (dropping 4 more inches for the bottom of oil pan or so) tall and 28" wide, how can it fit?
I will reconfigure my settings for deep fuel savings and run it again and post both results as comparison.

On first race at FM6 I only got 2 laps of racing before I had to pit for more petrol, in 2nd race I had gained just a bit over three laps but at a cost of Hp.
In the settings above the only thing that was changed was the ECU & Power Restrictor settings, in 2nd I dropped them from 100% to 70% just to save fuel.
I don't know how much Hp is lost when using FM6 over FM1 but that also was a drain on the Hp as I barely could catch P6 before I had to get fuel at end of lap 3.
Overall the NSX is good on tyres and with ballast forward it is balanced at 49/51 and handles well. I do not think this was a good engine swap as it guzzled petrol like a thirsty Veyron. It will do good for short races with no fuel consumption but nothing much else.

Looking at the HP & torque I can see why it uses so much fuel.

Yesterday for daily purposes i pick the Renault 16 .
Didn't impressed at once( mostly by top end speed ) but i see that the car has potential.
So i tried today some settings and i can tell its very nice and easy car .
Later on the day ill upload my settings and more info about it .

Nice car , no surprises, good handling and fuel economy.
At FM 1 can do 3 full laps on AT .
Tyres ( RH ) can last for 6 laps and depending on weather, someone can do one or two stops using different FM .
A false alarm for rain revealed that intermediate tyres can last one and half lap on dry track

One of the two settings i used , the other one have only some differences at suspension settings, all others are the same.
That build have also medium turbo engaged.

Isn't a fast car in terms of under 4 minutes ride here ,but its a good solution and pleasant to run with .
