Chappy 2J with sports softs is the easy answer. My Driver is/was a 38 and won.

I've "set it and forget" twice more and won both times. With the Sports Softs Bob won't come in on his own, probably because the Sports Tires have treads. Definitely the new race to have in the background as you watch tv or surf the net....

Chap 2J soft sports no pits, set the Trans to max at 230 MPH. Wins easily, but the driving at the end with no energy left is pretty sloppy. Chaps don't have lights (is that correct) so half the race is blind. Good thing Bob doesn't need to see.

I tried that but came 3rd both times. How do you stop them from pitting if your not in the room? Shall I use my level 40 cool bob or my 39 pshyco bob? Whats your diff settings?

Hey everybody!

I have been trying to finish this race for like 1 whole day! Trying new cars, different ways, but nothing works..!

Ive bought the Chapparel 2J lately even, since I found everybody saying it works with it, but still! got 5th position.. -.-

So, Please if somebody got a way to win, Share it with me :)!

Thank you!
Your either joking or you and your Bobs need to practice more.
Chaperal 2j with sport softs is an easy win with an average bob and some encouragement any Bob level 40 with at least quarter career bar will do it without coaching in a wel set up LMP.

- Take a stock Chapparel 2J.
- Oil change.
- Tune it as available.
- Sport Soft tyres.
- Car height -10/-10
- Max. speed around 400 km/h or 250 mp/h
- Do not pit. Cancel any of Bob's attemps to enter the pit (if any)

AI will pit twice, you don't pit. 1st AI pit stop brings you the lead (I kept it the entire race); 2nd AI stops either in rd 9 or 10 (which is quite odd); anyway, in my case I took over the lead in lap 4 and never lost it.

I used only one lvl 37 Bob; he was done (strenghts, etc.), but he made it.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has managed to do this without de-tuning a cars engine with the power limiter. Every car mentioned in this thread seems to be a 2J or a detuned old LMP car/Group C car and I want to know if my quest to win the race in a Peugeot 908 (with a bit of ballast) is possible.

I've come close, both times I've been leading on the final lap and on one of my attempts I only got passed for the lead at the Porsche Curves which is about two corners from the end.....

I guess the strategy is: no matter what you do, do not pit in the same lap as the others. Stop a lap before or after and allow you Bob some room to race by himself.
Or you can just use 2J with SS tires, You wont even pit in!

Just won it with a level 38 driver in a 2J with the mid rpm turbo and sports softs. lots of babysitting. Bob managed to wreck on lap 8 right after taking the lead. Still managed a 23 second win once the car he was racing hit the pits.
Yea I have done the same, except that I used high RPM.
I took the lead in 4th lap, kept it the whole race, and even won by a margin of 25 seconds.

Just won in the Audi R8. Started on Racing hards and pitted lap 3. Stayed on inters for the remainder. Tyres totally gone at the back by the last quarter of lap 10, winning margin 0.753 seconds. My closest ever B spec finish :D

How are people grinding Spa? Winning with no input seems to be evading me!
Use 2J fully tuned with SS
You will totally have no problem and will win with a 25seconds margin instead!

Yup, sports tires is the most important part! I tried with RH, but failed!

I've done the same but I had energy till the end of the race, because as soon as I got the lead at 4th lap, I kept him cool.

I tried that but came 3rd both times. How do you stop them from pitting if your not in the room? Shall I use my level 40 cool bob or my 39 pshyco bob? Whats your diff settings?
You cant stop pitting if your not in the room, and the key is just using 2J fully tuned with SS, a little coaching wont hurt.

Your either joking or you and your Bobs need to practice more.

I used RH first time, thats why I failed. But if you've read what I wrote later, you would've known that I succeeded when I used SS

Yea, that's what I tried later and worked with me. But I didn't change car height.

Personally nothing worked with me except the 2J, I've tried all cars in UCD and other cars I had before. But nothing worked except 2J.

I dont get whats so good about the 2J. I finished 9th with the 2J, then i changed to an R8 '01 and dominated the race

I think you can do it if your Bob's are up to scratch. I failed to mention that on one of my attempts my Bob made a mistake at the end of the Mulsanne and lost a good 10 seconds as he took a while to get back up to speed.

Strategy is key of course. Firstly I tried going straight from slicks to full wets to save a tyre stop not realising the track starts getting dryer around lap 6 :grumpy:.

But I think the optimal strategy is something like this, pit on lap 4 one lap after the AI does, this should allow you with some careful tyre management to get to the end of the race without pitting again. You'll need your Bob to claw back the time you lost by staying out an extra lap on slicks to say within 15-17 seconds before he pits. Then hopefully you'll have enough of a lead and tyres to navigate lap 10 successfully.

Second strategy I think I'll try is pitting on lap 2 then lap 7 which will hopefully give my Bob's more space to run at their fastest pace. Lap 3 and Lap 8 will be crucial though depending on how much he gets held up by slower traffic that he will inevitably come across.

If that doesn't work I'll just give in and try and mirror them!

I just won Sarthe.

This race is all about The Undercut.

Pescarolo Courage Judd.
Modified transmission final drive to allow 249 MPH max speed.
Maybe add a little rear downforce to get to 700PP.

Start on Hards.
Here's the routine.
You need to make sure that prior to the start of the Mulsanne Straight, you're not at 100% otherwise Bob will not get traction, and you will not get the tow you need down the straight.

Exit of first Mulsanne chicane is slippy so again not 100% use 2/3. Then power power power through next chicane, with a reduction prior to the end of the Mulsanne. Stick with 2/3 power right the way round until you get to Porsche curves. Then again, power power power up until final chicanes where you need to down power to 2/3. Start finish straight is power power power up until the downhill right under the bridge. Back off there to 2/3 and you're back to Mulsanne!

Use that for three laps. Pit at the end of lap 3, get Inters. Follow the routine again until end of lap 7. Pit for inters. By now there should be nobody around you - the key is you need clear track. The leaders will be miles ahead. Don't panic. Stick at 2/3 for the WHOLE lap. If you have traffic, you MUST clear it ASAP. Watch the sector times as you absolutely blitz everyone elses sectors. Then by the time they pit, you can SAIL past, letting Bob drop right down to 0% effort for that last glory lap.

Very rewarding

Ahhhh, i don't have a 2J!!!!!

Trying to pit before or after doesn't work as there's no benefit, you either lose time because it's too dry or too wet. (inters or slicks) I've tried keeping Bob (Lvl 34) cool or making him hot. My best result (5th) was keeping him in between cold and hot for the whole race using a Pescarolo Judd C60 or Audi R8 Race Car.

If you pit at the end of lap 2, you get a whole lap where you are on much better tyres than the opposition. Pitting again on lap 8 means you'll then go the same distance on your second set of tyres as everyone else, so will carry over that one lap advantage.

I won it in the 2J on SS. Don't pit at all. I won by 19.5 seconds with a level 32 driver.

Thought I'd try detuning a Ferrari F1 2007 to 700 pp and use it for this race. I got it down to the pp limit and picked my best level 40 to drive it. Unfortunatly the other cars all showed up as non detuned F1 2007's and I was gonna lose by atleast a couple of laps. I guess a f1 can only race other f1's.

this got me thinking hmmmm try with the kart.... but no lol

I came close to winning it after a half a dozen trys, using the Audi R8 from the OCD, have about 760HP.

I just won it, what I did was pit on the end of lap 5, and kept bob in the top 4 tell the the AI pitted, then I just made sure to keep bob clam on the last lap, he finished with the rear tires gone.

Here are the settings for the Audi that I used , did an oil change
HP 789
weight 950 kg
aero Front 50 rear 77
ballast 49/51
Ride height -22/-20
spring F 15.8 R 13.1
camber F 4 R 3.3

Does anyone else have a problem with their bob driving slowly after an off-track excursion? Every time my bob goes off track, he drives along slowly for the next 20 seconds or so... it's infuriating!

Only thing I can think if is he's weary of Dirt on the tyres.

Happens to me, too, and I can't stand it.

On an unrelated note, has anybody tried Racing Hards for the first 3 or 4 laps then 1 set of Racing intermediates the rest of the way? That was going to be my next strategy attempt, but if somebody can either confirm/deny that it'll work, I'd appreciate your saving me 40mins. ;)

I tried that I think, the rear tires won't last and he'll just loop it on every corner.

Appreciate the input. Howabout the Racing Hards for 3 or 4 and then Sports Softs for the remainder, then?

Sent you the request ("GatorAdam"). Watching the UFC fights then off to bed for me, though. Will try out the 2J in the morning. Thanks! 👍

I won it with the Audi R8 Race Hard and a pit on lap 5 to change to Race Inters for the rain. I wasn't paying attention and Bob pitted again on lap 9 on his own and I still won it.

yes, this was the only reason I lost my first attempt was Bob driving slowly on the grass down the mulsanne straight :grumpy:

My Bob does it everytime he went wide into the sand at the Mulsanne right-hander after the straight. He then sticks to the left side of the road for 10-secs doing 2nd gear. Cost me the race in an R8 (Playstation) Race car, came 2nd place. I found that not letting him being over-excited helps at that corner.

Manage to win with a 2J trollcar and after that in an Audi R8 (PS) Racecar. Both Bobs at lvl 36 less than half experience bar.

Very interesting race indeed. Planning to attempt in other cars. :dunce:

You can easily win first place with the audi R8 race car (audi playstation team oreca) 05 LMP. Start with R/H over take at the beginning , should take you to 2nd around lap 3 or so and pit at end of lap 3 change to R/I. Once you take first place keep your bob close to 50%. Last pit at end of lap 8 R/I by this time you should have at least a 35+ sec gap to give you time to pit.

Finish time 39:59

Stage 3 turbo
Oil Change
power limited: 85.3
down force 55/68
LSD: 35 50 35
default setting for suspension
brakes 7/6
