You can easily win first place with the audi R8 race car (audi playstation team oreca) 05 LMP. Start with R/H over take at the beginning , should take you to 2nd around lap 3 or so and pit at end of lap 3 change to R/I. Once you take first place keep your bob close to 50%. Last pit at end of lap 8 R/I by this time you should have at least a 35+ sec gap to give you time to pit.

Finish time 39:59

Stage 3 turbo
Oil Change
power limited: 85.3
down force 55/68
LSD: 35 50 35
default setting for suspension
brakes 7/6

I haven't actually tried out this exact challenge yet but I won all the other 650pp races with the regular R8. It has more power and just a bit heavier than the race car. The downforce is also good and has 4wd and I haven't had any problems with it yet against all the race cars. Will post how it goes when I attempt it later.

Happens to me, too, and I can't stand it.

On an unrelated note, has anybody tried Racing Hards for the first 3 or 4 laps then 1 set of Racing intermediates the rest of the way? That was going to be my next strategy attempt, but if somebody can either confirm/deny that it'll work, I'd appreciate your saving me 40mins. ;)

(***No, I do not have a 2J. Anybody tried a 2D?***)

yes and it works. do 4 laps with hards and then intermediates for the rest of the race....you should have just enough thread to finish the last lap.

That strategy works, except you can have some very close moments at the end - use the GT-R35 with the same pit strategy and you'll definitely have enough tyre left.

I got 2nd place with my Bob on his first go. I used the Nissan R92CP. The PP for this car is low, so what I did was use full aero with 755 hp too. I pitted for Intermediates at the end of lap 2 and for Racing Hards at the end of lap 9. Bob made quite a few mistakes so I'm going to try again today and try to win it. :)

Did the one stop strategy using 2J after failing twice with 787b and 2 stops.

Started with RH and lvl 25 Bob, much prodding, pitted at lap 4 in 7th place. Changed to inters and lvl 30 Bob.

Kept Bob awake but not too hot and almost caught 6th by lap 8, blocked lap 9 pit and got 1st placer when they all went in. Tyres just lasted til the end, with some slowing down.

Beat R8 by 8 secs. 2J had high rpm turbo but was well below 700pp, no other changes. Both Bobs levelled up after this.

Will try the one stop with some other cars, after I've spent some cash!

Looks like I'm on my way to victory with an Audi R8 Race Car '01. Pitted end of lap 3 and switched to Racing Intermediates, no driver change, no fuel. Took the lead on lap 5. End of lap 8 I pitted again with a lead of about 25 seconds. Put on a new set of Racing Intermediates. Did a driver change too. No refueling is needed. The AI's pit at the end of lap 9, so all I have to do is nurse him along for the last 2 laps and I win. Winning time 40:19.080, 17.590 seconds ahead of second place.

Oil Change done
Stage 3 turbo
Downforce 50F, 70R
Gearing 242 MPH
LSD 35-50-35
Brakes 7F, 6R

Quite a challenging race, but I dunno how many times I'll be doing it again. I'd rather do other B-spec races.

BMW V12 LMR Race Car '99,
push for highest position / keep driver on redline throughout duration of race,
start with racing hard tyres then pit to intermediates at end of lap three,
pit again to fresh inter's at end of lap eight,
win race.

I used the 2J with Sport Soft tires and no pit stop with a Level 31 Bob, and won by 17 seconds. Thanks to whoever suggested that strategy.

I got passed by two cars about 2 laps after their first pit stop but was able to stay close enough to them to easily win after they made their 2nd pit.

Thanks for this.

I finally managed to win this with your setup/strategy.

Somehow my Bobs (L34/36) don't seem to be up to the task. They always tend to lose quite a bit on the opposition in the Mulsanne chicanes no matter if they are hot, cool or anywhere in between.

Bob only got in first position in the last lap in the second chicane on Mulsanne.
But then the just overtaken R8 managed to run both himself and Bob into the sand in Mulsanne.
Luckily Bob got back to the road first and No.3 wasn't close enough to jump them both.
Bob won by 2s.

It took me 5 goes before I won this event but i used someone elses 2J technique which was to use SS tires only pitting on the entry to lap 7. I win by 15 seconds everytime now. the only car I have come close to winning with was the Audi R8 Race Car on racing hard and then finishing on inters after lap 3. had to pit again on lap 8 though otherwise car will burn tires out on last lap. I could only get 3rd place with the Audi but my driver was being daft and sliding off the track for no reason.

I did it again this morning with the Audi R8 Race Car '01. I even had a spin at the start of lap 2 and a small off at the end of lap 9, but I still won by 18 seconds or so.

I just won Sarthe.

This race is all about The Undercut.

Pescarolo Courage Judd.
Modified transmission final drive to allow 249 MPH max speed.
Maybe add a little rear downforce to get to 700PP.

Start on Hards.
Here's the routine.
You need to make sure that prior to the start of the Mulsanne Straight, you're not at 100% otherwise Bob will not get traction, and you will not get the tow you need down the straight.

Exit of first Mulsanne chicane is slippy so again not 100% use 2/3. Then power power power through next chicane, with a reduction prior to the end of the Mulsanne. Stick with 2/3 power right the way round until you get to Porsche curves. Then again, power power power up until final chicanes where you need to down power to 2/3. Start finish straight is power power power up until the downhill right under the bridge. Back off there to 2/3 and you're back to Mulsanne!

Use that for three laps. Pit at the end of lap 3, get Inters. Follow the routine again until end of lap 7. Pit for inters. By now there should be nobody around you - the key is you need clear track. The leaders will be miles ahead. Don't panic. Stick at 2/3 for the WHOLE lap. If you have traffic, you MUST clear it ASAP. Watch the sector times as you absolutely blitz everyone elses sectors. Then by the time they pit, you can SAIL past, letting Bob drop right down to 0% effort for that last glory lap.

Very rewarding

This was the winning tip for me. I went from losing by 20 seconds to winning by over 30 seconds all because i pitted on lap 2 instead of 3. I have done the race 3 times using this strategy and have won then all

Use audi r 8 race car
With racing hard tires for the first 2 laps
Then pit after lap 2 and after lap 8 with inter tires:):)

Running the 2j right now and me and the R8 is kicking ass. running less than a second behind him. between me and 3rd is 28+ seconds(Lap 8). Use either or and you will win.

2j, Sport Soft, keep 65% pace, no pitting.
One eye closed and feet on the table.....easy win

What if I don't have a Chappy 2J? Where can I get one and how much?

Borrow one, for free. :)

I'm about to head to work, but will have access to the game in around 10 hours. Hit me up, or others here, and use a shared 2J!

👍
Very good tips about traction at long straights. I've improved my bob's best time lap and made more easy to overtake at those long straights
