Lol, that will be like driving on bald tires. I am liking your approach and yes PD does seem to cater to novice with tire grip. I find it annoying how it's so hard to utilize the triggers on the DS3 and PD's complete lack of changing sensitivity to your liking appalling. Each iteration of GT keeps getting easier to get into but you cannot tailor the game to match your skill once you get better. When using PD's quasi manual with the DS3 the game auto disengages the clutch and prevents power from being transmitted, PD still won't give controller users the ability to clutch for themselves. This is one thing I like with a wheel is being able to disengage the clutch and let the car coast or my favorite upsetting the car intentionally or engine brake in dire situations.On CH tires? I'm doing a test of GT3 spec tunes for cars and I have really only found 16 cars that are usable of that only 12 are actually comparable in performance and all have the same parallel settings. I tested all cars running SH tires, full aero(underbody as well) and 1350kgs minimum weight. I can send you the full settings and setups I use for you to test if you like. I was preparing for the community update to run a series, I may need more input to keep the cars very close.

Finally after a month of being without GT6, I've began testing again!
I was so excited to get back on the track. I spent a good 20 minutes with the BMW M4 Coupe, reacquainting myself with the physics and the track. I thought I'd be a bit rusty, but after 2 laps I was nailing all the braking points and apexes. Must be muscle memory.
Got a 1:45.336 with the M4, which is over 5 seconds slower than Randy Pobst's time but 1.6 seconds better than the M3 '07. With CS tires his time would be easy to beat, and with CM it would be close.
Also ran a 1:49.247 in the Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) '08.
And finally, a 1:42.178 in the Audi R8 4.2 '07
That does it for today! Tomorrow's lineup:

I would think this is too hard to compare at this basic level. The M4 Randy drove is wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sports which are almost SH in stickiness. To be fair, his car is also weighing ~200 lbs more than the M4 weight in GT6. I set my M4 in GT6 to ballast at 1645Kg and with SH tires. Still have to run the lap, but I suspect I would match the real time and you would be able to still beat it by a couple seconds...

I tried the FXX last night and it has a ton of grip, drives a lot like the McLaren F1, you shouldn't have any problem with it. It was fun to drive so I took it out to the Nurb and that was a fun couple of laps. The Enzo on the other hand

The 2013 Focus is killed once you have to shift up to 5th gear : IRL, this car has two different final drive ratios, one for 1 to 4, and one for 5 & 6. PoDi couldn't include two different final gears, but they didn't thought about tweaking 5th and 6th ratios in game to compensate...

I might be able to manage a 1:38 but as it stands, I'd much rather drive a Prius around the track 5 times than do one more lap in the FXX.
The only way to avoid spinning is to drive at 1/3 throttle or to floor it in 4th gear. That is neither fun nor realistic.
The GT-R Nismo is barely slower, and where the FXX will keep the most narcoleptic person on Earth awake, the Nismo will put the most caffeinated person on Earth to sleep.

The tires spinning in 3rd is where all the fun is
. With the G27 it was definitely fairly easy to control with some throttle feathering and some quick upshifting. The car has a ton of grip and is very stable while cornering too.

Yeah these high-powered 600 PP+ RWD cars are really only controllable with a wheel. I bet there's at least 5 seconds on the table that I won't be able to make up for.
If someone can manage 1:37 in this car with a DS3 with no aids on except ABS, they deserve a medal.

I only put about 5 or 6 laps in it and left something on the table for sure but I don't think there's 5 seconds there. Maybe 1.5-2. For the record, the Veyron was a couple of tenths faster than the FXX

I just gave this a try by curiosity, made a 39.0 on my first "clean" lap. If I spent a bit of time on that combo, I could get it in 36 for sure, maybe high 35s, but I would need a wheel and pedals in better condition. The Lacombe brothers may get it in 34, I'll try to ask them what they think if I remember to.
1st gear is useless here, 2nd should be used only to help the car turn in at the slowest points and maintain a bit of RPM before getting out in 3rd, and you should still wait before getting 100% on the pedal.

I did some comparative testing of grip between GT6 and Assetto Corsa (which is a PC sim which some feel verges on having too much grip).
CM is roughly the same feel as normal road tyres on the F458, McLaren MP4-12C or SLS.
CS is roughly the same feel as semi-slicks on the F458, McLaren 12C or SLS.
SS tyres were a good match for GT3 race car medium compound slicks on the Z4 GT3.
I think that anything up to around 450 or maybe even 500PP would be using CH tyres from the factory. Above 500PP I guess CM is valid. Cars which come from the factory with semi-slicks would be CS, and I guess most "hot laps" from car magazines are done on CS tyres.
SH tyres feel like hard compound cut slicks (kind of road legal but you wouldn't want to try driving through puddles), SM tyres would be hard compound racing slicks, SS would be medium compound racing slicks.
I guess RH could represent very grippy soft compound racing slicks. RM and RS feel like they have too much grip, even for "single lap special" sticky slicks....
