Its a great thing your doing (or trying to, as it were) but there is 2 other threads on the front page alone with him owing people cars and not sending. and I know of 2 other threads (my own being one) where as soon as they mentioned he send first, he stropped responding to them. I hope you did a back up is all I can say.

Oh, I'm not worried about the cars as they are still on backed up secondary save files. Plus I still have faith in the guy as he still has time to do as he promised. Only time will tell if he warrants that faith or if he falls flat on his face. If he does as he promised and sends one car to the other winner and the second car to me as he promised then I will be sure to let everyone know that he was a man of his honor and held up his end of the deal. But as I said only time will tell.

Thanks for the offer but I still have the Diablo on a backed up secondary save file. If all else fails I will send another copy of it to the other winner since he was nice enough to send a copy of his S7 to the guy that won the Diablo. Appreciate the offer though. 👍

Well, looks like we're making progress on this. The guy has shown me my faith in him was warranted. He sent me the S7 last night and I'm waiting for him to send the Diablo to the other guy.

Well, as I said if this guy made good on his promises I would let everyone know. I am happy to say he did. Yesterday he sent the second car to the other winner of the giveaway. It took a lot of back and forth with him and we must have had something like 30 messages between the 2 of us. Now I can see why most people on GTPlanet don't try to giveway stuff to newer members in order to help them out. What should have been a simple giveaway turned in to a nightmare dragged out over several days all because of one person's failure to read the rules of the giveaway. My wife read through our message history and she was surprised I didn't blow up on this guy after the first 10 messages. Here's a few highlights.



At the point of the reply below we had been going back in forth for a day now and all I was getting seemed like a bunch of bs. So I finally sent him a message letting him know that if he didn't send the vehicle to the other guy right after the next server reset then I was going to let others know he wasn't an honest trader. Here's the reply I received (all grammer and text is just how I received them; not my typing, spelling errors, or lack of punctuation):

dont worry, i haven't jacked with any one before. all my trades have been legitimate. i just never was asked to copy and send back a car i go for free. more like you were willing to give people the car without the exspense of you losing one.

To which I asked him:
Did you read all the rules and my reason for the giveaway in the first place?


Here's what I got back:

Maybe? kinda seem to do that alot. all i saw was "FREE CARS" or somthing like that.

My message back to him after the above comments:
Your reply does not leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside, you know?


What I received in reply has got to be funniest post I've seen for an excuse yet:

well dont worry. sheesh. why does everybody like to pick on men in their twenties? you will get the car. i have alot to do besides video games. i have a career and taxes to pay.

Those were just the tip of the iceberg. Another funny part is it appears he failed to read my instructions on how to back up a save file and when he sent the first car out he didn't have his save data backed up properly. So he lost the car and is now requesting I send him another one. What should have been a nice, simple giveaway turned out to be a much bigger pain then I thought it ever could be. On top of all that in the last few days I have received several messages from other users on GTPlanet warning me about the guy and if you trade with him make him send first. If this guy has such a bad rep why is he still here?

Anyhow, glad this fiasco os finally over and that the other winner is happy and has the 2 cars I promised him. Will have to think real hard before I try another giveaway like this again.


But as I said at the top, he did honor his end of the deal and sent both cars as he agreed to. Just wished he didn't cause me to want to pull my hair out in the process.
