Post Race Report
An action packed night of racing to everyone who made it to the grid. We did not complete a full 16 car field, but we did have a good turn out of 14 drivers, some of which were joining us for their first race of the series: @Rob Brown, @TEX36, @PrivateSmiles, @Roman_GT23.
While I cannot speak for everyone and their specific battles, I had some great exchanges with @Moby45 in both races, and @Roman_GT23, @Whitey093, and @DesertPenguin in race 2. Moby45 was a constant presence in my mirrors at all times. Whitey and DesertPenguin put up some great defensive racing against advances from both Roman and myself, and Roman and I had a great 2 lap battle for 2nd place toward the end of race 2, and very clean. I had to try twice before I executed the pass. Great race Roman.
Race 2 had quite the pile up, but simply came down to an accident.
2 incidents were filed post race, but after review from myself and 2 volunteer peers, both incidents were determined as incidental contact. Thank you to that driver for taking the time to file a report.
I did witness a few other incidents that could be considered reviewable. Since it is our series policy that we are peer to peer governed, only incidents that are reported will be formally reviewed. If you feel that an incident is worth a review, please look at the replay and submit an Incident Report as stated in section 4 of the first post by Monday 8pm est.
Congratulations to our Event #3 Class Winners:
PRO: @llNovall /II-NOVA-II
PRO AM: @TEX36/ TEX36
Race 1 Winner: @Roman_GT23
Race 2 Winner: @Mark Elman
Next up: Lago Maggiore GP on Friday, April 3rd.
Event details page will be posted this week for anyone looking to get a head start on some practice. Early confirmations for next event are now open and being accepted. The Confirmation Reminder post will be out the week before our next race night on:
Event #4 on Friday, April 3rd.
On a business side of things, for all remaining races, we will be running the series on a "Lap Count" rather than a timed race. I did not like that GT Sport cut the race a lap short for those drivers on the lead lap. The 1st post will be updated to reflect the change.
Again, great racing everyone, and thank you to all who made it on the grid. Hope to see another strong field at Lago Maggiore in a few weeks.
