LAN Play option: Going the way of the floppy disc?

Well crap... I guess it's back to my laggy connection. Was really hoping for LAN parties with this.

definitely not in there. Very very disappointing, how can a game not include an option like this?!

Coupled with the fact that the online part is barely working at the moment anyway, myself and 5 friends couldn't play against each other in multiplayer last night when we met up so everyone had to play their own single player game.

We have been looking forward to racing against each other in GT5 for years and years, it has finally arrived and now we can't do it!

dragging this one up from the past a bit, but I think what I have to say is worthy of it.

We had our first 6 player, same room/location, online experience last night. Unfortunately the weather, holidays and work commitments meant this was our first opportunity since GT5 was released but I'm happy to report that it went very smoothly!

It seems like the lack of LAN play is not a major stumbling block, we had 6 PS3s connected to PSN and in the same lobby, racing against each other. The lag was barely noticeable (worse if someone spun out right in front of you). Obviously it wasn't at LAN levels of non-lag but perfectly acceptable and this is on a 'slow' connection compared to what is available out there.

Overall, we are very happy!

The game would be very fun with LAN play! Think of all the local LAN GT5 parties one could have without having internet setup issues!
