Hi. I would like to ask if someone has real information, news or scientific studies that say that armstrong runs faster because he takes or he took drugs for his cancer? It's difficult to understand that he started to win the Tour after his cancer. It's just an interesting question for me. I would like answres for that and maybe you have references, articles or documents that explain that.

Thanks

nope, there is nothing to say that nor does anyone accuse him of enhancing his performance using cancer related drugs. Armstrong has something in us that very few people do, its a type of dedication to his sport that puts him above all other including the cycling elite of the world.

his tour wins are a result of determination and the fact that he nearly died. Its a psycholocical thing that only instills itself in you when you face death right in the face and spit on it.

many, many people accuse his of taking drugs which are rife in the sport of cycling and i am not his biggest fan but i geuninely do not believe that has takes anthing stronger during the tour than caffiene.

armstrong wins beacuse he is the strongest rider in the race.

i have heard frenchman as they shouted 'drug!' as he cycles past....i have also see them slap his back and shout 'vitesse lance vitesse' (speed lance, faster)...its a media hype....

the press accuse him of cheating all the time....read his book and you'll see that he is not a cheater, he doesnt have it in him....he needs to prove to himself that he has beaten cancer and if he takes drugs, he is only cheating himself and therefore there will be no 'closure' for him...lance win the tour for himself...not for others, purely for himself....

when he gets the prize money he shares it equally among the team...even the domestiques get the same share as he does..

cheating with drugs isnt Lance...

And Lance trains evry day to win the Tour, so it isn't strange the fact of he has won it 5 times in a row.
I mean, other cylists run a lot of races, and in some of them they don't go at 100%, but Lance only trains for the Tour, and it's important not to forget this fact.

Guys - it's unholy to raise the dead like this...

Anyhoo, I'm a member at another, running focussed, forum. The feeling there is that Armstrong may have got an advantage from his treatment for a couple of reasons:
- the cancer stripped away much of his musculature. Prior to his cancer Armstrong was a lot bigger in the upper body. This meant Armstrong was able to rebuild himself and focus purely on the muscles needed to ride the bike as quickly as possible
- the nature of his cancer treatment may have increased his tolerance to pain
- we think that the cancer treatment may have increased his red blood cell count, and as such improved his ability to transport oxygen to his muscles, which provides his strength in the hills
