Lancia 037 coming to GT Sport?

Id like to think they have a lot of cars done waiting for GT7, but the inclusion of the drift car/ time attack car and SEMA cars makes me think otherwise.
also i hope GT5 adopts an even more ridged class system
The cars they continually add are probably all they have ready right now... But, with GT7 not releasing any soon, not before they stop adding content to GT Sport, which will not happen for another 2 years at least, they will have much more content ready for GT7. GTS is expected to have around 500 cars in the end so we can assume GT7 launches with 700 cars :)

I don't want that either tbh.

Gimmie Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen, Sonoma, Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, NASCAR, IndyCar and BTCC pls.

They are on fm7 bar the roval. Might as well get that for now until it happens (?)

I'm fairly certain that this Lancia 037 will be just one of these old WRC cars that will form Gr.A.
Referring to the game files posted by somebody where you could also see Gr.2 before it was introduced in the game. And what do you know, we got Gr.2. So it only makes sense that Gr.A is coming too and I don't see anything else fit there better than some WRC cars.
And based on PD's thorough updates, I believe we will get one or more gravel (and possibly snow) tracks as well.
I can't wait. This year already has been epic for GT Sport and it will only get better.

Group B did run at Le Mans IIRC with the Ferrari GTO and Porsche 959.

Also PD, road version please.

Actually, the Ferrari 288 GTO was build with intention to meet homologation criteria to Gr. B (200 units, the engine capacity reduced to be under the maximum limit of 2857cc for turbocharged engines), the Gr. B race car actually never raced, contrary to the "standard version", the NA 308 GTB.
The Porsche 959, being a gr. B like, raced in Le Mans under the category GTX(perimental).

Some cars were notable group B track oriented cars, like BMW M1, several Porsches (930 turbo, 911 SC, 928, 924)...

Even after 1986, the gr. B cars were banned from rally but it was possible to homologate cars in such category, some notable cars were homologated in such way as base to specific racecars, like the Ferrari F40 (BPR GT1), several Porsche 911 post 1986 (related to Carrera Cup models).

Yes pls add the Gr.5 Version, that car was in Toca Race driver 3, what other games was it in anyone know?

No group 5 version of the car mate.
I think you are make some confusion with Lancia Beta Montecarlo.

It's true but it stands no chance against the Gr.B class either, so I'd guess it'd be lumped in with other sub 400hp rallycars.

Pointless addition to the game, i like rally cars but every rally lobby I see doesn't have more than 5 players in it, there are no daily rally races, and campaign mode rally races are only a few.

In the end, rally is not the focus of this game so I guess this is why it gets neglected like this, I hope this future addition changes that.
(We could do with some new rally tracks and rally cross as well, PD!)

Oh my dear.. Nice..

What comes to homologation / class, i must point out something. Even though Lancia 037 is a group B machine, its far from Quattro S1 and Delta as its not 4wd. Its more at home at winding tarmac than gravel. For that reason i wouldnt worry about the rally physics too much.

As for group i worry it would be a gr.X machine as it wont fit the 4wd gr. B. That said, i would welcome more of the 2wd classic rally/race cars.

AND.. Remember its SOON™

Okay. I knew about the 959 running as the 961 but not the GTO.

961 actually raced. The 288 GTO didn't. And I think it would of been the GTO Evoluzione if had the chance to race. The only other Grp. B circuit racer was a BMW M1. So basically there was only 2 cars in the category in 1986. I think in 1987 it raced in GTX or GTP? But more likely GTX. After that it was banned. Like the rally Grp. B.

Back on topic. Really hope the rumours are true. Would love a 037. NO car is pointless. The 037 was an important car in Lancia's history and was one of the last rwd rally cars. Also could mean we'll also get the Delta and Stratos which were both premiums anyway. Now all we need is MK2 or MK1 Escorts and the Renault 5 Turbo for the 037 to run against. Escorts might struggle though.

At last some real cars start to pop up in updates.. I just dont drive cars which are newer than 2010.. they look like smartphones, they actually drive like refrigerator, washing machine or other kitchen appliance, they have so many gadgets and other not car related stuff I want to go to bathroom every time I see one.. so for real cars guys or petrol heads this modern "plastic" car era hurts a lot, not to mention those Vision GT cars...

so yes, great news! Bring more real cars to the game..

I'm really surprised there is not more Gr.B class racing in Sport Mode or in lobbies. Putting this group on the tarmac is where they are fun in GTS. With power and grip around the Gr.3 cars but completely different handling characteristics you can power slide these cars around corners and they stick. I'm looking forward to getting this car should be loads of fun to drive.

Wow ...that rally segment featuring the Lancia 037 on the Grand tour made an great impression on me of this car. Now I can get the chance to actually drive it! Albeit digitally.

Hopefully they will add more dirt tracks too! Perhaps Pikes Peak is finally coming?
