I'd like to get in on this as well. Igni's time was set in direct competition with me, and his was the better time.

Smallhorses, I did just get a USB flashdrive for use in the Photomode comps...do you know if those can also be used to record replays? If so, I'll be more than happy to record a replay of my own doing this, although I seriously doubt I can come within half a second of your own time. :)

Looking forward to seeing it.

Out of curiosity: what speeds did you maintain through the first tunnel left-hander and the last left-hander leading into the main straight?

I believe, if my addled brain serves me right, it was 79-81mph in the first tunnel left hander, sticking close to the guardrail on the inside all the way through, and I got down to 64-65 mph, in the last left hander onto the straight.
Driving a stock Miata is all about conservation of momentum so it's really important to keep as much speed as possible through the turns as 120HP doesn't give you much giddyup to storm off down the straights!
I got alarmingly close to the inside wall in the penultimate turn too, maintining about 81mph there too, but I checked the replay pausing throughout the turn in photomode, and there's no touch, something upheld by the data analyser too.

Flynn77 - A USB device can't save replay files by itself, you need an ARMax or MAXDrive + the associated PS2 disk for saving them. You may find them on Craigslist or eBay now, but I'm not sure if they make them anymore.
I can upload my replays as .max files if anyone wants them, but it's a lot more hassle than simply filming them. It does allow others to download them and put them through the data analyser and use them as ghost laps though, which is why they were actively encouraged for participation in the GT3/GT4 WRS series. You can't obviously do anything with a YouTube video other than watch it!

Off to GameStop now to see what they've got in the way of used PS2s.

*Edit* Seems they've refurbed fatties for $49.99. Traded in a few old games and a network adaptor (for $5), plus my old unit to be reconditioned (for $10), paid $5 for a year's warranty and now have a unit that'll read my old GT4 disk and the MAXDrive disk first time every time. (For now...:sly:)
Anyway, I'm back in action, back from work, and here's what you guys were after (again excuse the quality I don't have a video capture card in my laptop, so cellphone video is all you get!):

That's a great Trial Mountain time AndersonG22 👍 Took an awful lot of effort to get quicker than it.

Would anyone object if I sharked 100% completion to get a hold of an FGT so that I can do some chasin' of my own?

You don't need 100%. You can win an FGT from the Nurburgring 24h Endurance in a variety of colours. The 100% completion one is all black though.

Like yourself (until a week ago), Smallhorses, my PS2 is a launch fattie. I'm very hesitant to leave it on for an extended amount of time, so I've already resigned myself to the fact that I won't be completing the 24-hour enduros...at least not until I get a newer one.

You're actually better off with the fatty. It's less prone to overheating and a lot better ventilated than the slims. I've just got another refurbed fatty when, after 10 long years, my original fatty finally kicked the bucket.

Check out post #4 in this thread. 23 days straight, no problem at all!

Yeah, I kept my PS2 on for about 3 weeks straight whilst I chipped away at Sarthe1 24hr, but I've done it several times, with about 7-9 24hr Nurbs under my belt in varying percentages of A-spec. I don't know how many of those stretches my PS2 fatboy has left in it, though...

Smallhorses, I watched your vid, and it appears that though you and I may drive the same exact line through the course, you seem to transition a little more gently from throttle to decel and back to throttle. Perhaps that's where I may find some slop.

Later, though. I'm exhausted from yet another long weekend out of town. Good news, though, this weekend had no emergencies!!

Smallhorses, I drove 3'06.770 around Sarthe1 in a Sauber with R3s and oil (no other upgrades). CAN YOU BEAT THAT?!?!?

I suspect you probably can. There were a couple of places where I could have ironed out some slop, I just wonder if YOU can find them! :D

My setups are available to people who share setups, do you share?..

It appears I already did. ;)

Followed Car-Less' lead and returned my Black F1 to default settings and removed driving aids, then went off to the tracks mentioned to see what I could do...

I don't usually share settings since I don't usually have any! Most of my races were run in stock cars with stock settings (apart from driving aids 0/0/0), which everyone starts from anyway so it's kind of pointless to post! That said, in the rare instances I've been asked about modified setups used while pursuing 200 A-spec point races, I've provided them willingly, yes:
e.g. This thread, post #12 & post #25 respectively,
this thread, post #23,
or unprompted in post #1 of this thread.

Nice lap! 👍 Is the 1'01.460 clean too? :scared: Or a dirty ghost?

Thanks, Two tires went just a little to far into the dirty concrete while I was setting up for the left hander before the back straight. I didnt even kick up dirt lol, the lap was just a little to dirty for me.

Edit: my setups can be found here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=220539

Cheers for the setup info, I'm just curious to see how much of a difference a great setup makes compared to the GT4 defaults that Car-Less & I ran.
I'll dial yours into my F1 later on and give Trial Mountain another shot. 👍

So I tried AndersonG22's F1 setup on my car.
Wow.
Sadly I can't report that's a "Wow" in a good way, but this goes to highlight the enormous differences in setups that're suitable for 1 driver with 1 type of controller versus what another driver with a different controller finds preferable, which is a great feature of GT4 in being able to accommodate so many people's driving styles and preferences.
This isn't a criticism of the setup itself in any way, and if anything, I've now got more respect for AndersonG22 for getting that car around that track so quickly. 👍
I can see how it's done, the setup definitely benefits from sharp, hard inputs, such as you'd get from DS2. Unfortunately for me with a smoother style and DFP, I can't replicate those inputs, and thus the car becomes virtually uncontrollable. :scared:
My initial curiosity is satisfied, there's a vast difference in setup between this one and the default settings that Car-Less ran. I suppose my next project should be to set something up that suits me and my style and see how much quicker I can get the car to go over the defaults, and if it puts me back on AndersonG22's tail! :mischievous:

I made the front end stick better with these changes.
Front shock bound 2, rebound 4, and the ride height 65.

Long story short Im accepting slightly dirty times. I had two tires mostly in dirt but didnt kick any up, I think it acts as tarmac but looks like dirt. And I had two tires half way in the dirt at the last chicane, with these adjustments I can take it flat out.
