Possibly try to mildly tune an Amuse S2000, the road going one. If that isn't allowed under your rules, just use the normal Honda S2000, and tune that up slightly, raise the HP to whatever seems financially viable, and add a custom suspension. It'll handle beautifully and have more than enough power. If it doesn't work, then don't blame me!
Good luck with the challenge!
Even better with another 35k, but will still go for a new car with some nice sticky rubber, like everyone is saying R2's are a minimum, and I'd be going even softer than that with this budget.
As for restricting to 400hp though, that's going to present some fun challenges. If you can get a sub-7.00 that should guarantee the win for that person.
Ah, competition has blistered into the 6 minute category. I am in dire need of assistance from some tuners. My current car is the used TVR Cerbera Speed Six with the following parts
NA 1
sports exhaust
super sticky tires
racing suspension
racing trans
racing clutch
weight reduction stage 2
racing flywheel
carbon driveshaft
racing brakes
LSD full
and a wing
This thing is fast around the ring, but it overreacts to every little bump, and it just seems to not be as solid as it should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I think I may have a decent tune thanks to searching. There is like 1 thread in this whole forum dedicated to the Speed Six. I am at a 6:53.1xx as my current best time
Update on the competition....Cars and times are due on the 24th and I seem to be making great progress. My current best in the Speed Six is now down to a 6:46.7xx and that was my first time around tonight. The car seems to be handling better now, but still very touchy if you go off road, or bounce off a rumble strip weird.
I dont understand your post. I tried a Griffith but it seemed even more unstable than the Speed Six. The M Coupe handles like a champ, but it is too heavy and slow even at the 400hp limit of the competition
If anyone has a tune handy for the Griffith, I may double check it tomorrow, or even try something close to my Speed Six tune
LOL, I just looked in my garage and apparently I sold the car. The settings were the stock ones, I am going to try to buy another Griffith. Anyway, heres the parts I had on it:
NA 1
Sports exhaust
Super soft tires
racing trans
racing suspension
racing clutch
Weight reduction stage 2
racing flywheel
carbon driveshaft
racing brakes
LSD full customize
Ok I deleted all of my previous post that was post 81 in lieu of updates....I managed to Turn a 6:41.9xx which later I would figure out was .005 sec faster than my friend. I then drove his car to a 6:40.9xx which amazed him. Then I showed him my car that he thought was too lose and he couldnt control it. Then it happened, I had a pretty much perfect lap and popped off a 6:36.7xx. He is going to try to beat that but I doubt he will. His car setup is so much different from mine. We are both using Cerbera Speed Sixes. Mine is N/A with 382hp and his is N/A with less, but he is running nitrous. I also figured out he is cheating by cutting one of the corners, I still have him beat.
We talked out the next challenge which I figured I would throw out to see if you guys want to participate. Heres the outline:
275hp cap
FF drivetrain only
Infinite budget
no race cars, touring cars, or special cars of any kind. Only used cars or new cars are allowed
The highest tires you can use are racing sotfts
we are using 3 tracks The Sarthe I, the purple SSR5, and Cote d Azur
You can only have 1 setting for all 3 tracks, IE no changing settings between races
The deadline is August 31st, aka a week from this sunday
I got mod approval to post this challenge here instead of in the spot race challenge forum. If anyone wants to participate, just pm me and let me know.
Bump, and another update on the Ring' challenge. He beat my time of what I thought was a 6:36.7 but was really a 6:37.7. He only beat it by like a half a second or so. I found out about this and beat it again. The current winning time is 6:36.191
For the new FF challenge you have, I'd suggest using something like a Civic Type R and mildy tuning to reach the power cap, and extensivelytuning the suspension so it handles perfectly for each circuit by running laps over and over with the different settings to find the one that works the best for you. The Civic Type R would be my choice in this challenge, anyway. Hope it works for you. 👍
