Launch Control in GT6

We all love launch control!

Why not take advantage of it in GT6?

It would be perfect for drag racing and launching in races.

It will also add more realism to the game, since a lot of the cars that will be in GT6 will have LC, for example.

Lamborghini Aventador
Ferrari 458 Italia
Nissan GT-R
Ferrari F12

Just to name a few.

Since every car has a different procedure to launch, implementing all those procedure to cars with LC will take a lot of time. The procedure to activate all cars with LC in GT6 is as follows.

1. Come to a stop
2. Push & hold the E-brake and brake for 5 seconds.
3. Let go of e brake
4. Mash the throttle.
5. Let of the brake!

Reason for holding both the brake and e-brake to launch is so that you don't launch the car accidentaly, which is what would happen in you just had to hold the brake for 5 seconds, instead of both the brake and e brake.

Let me know your thoughts.

P.S. Simon, don't give me the "this feature will add nothing to the game" crap.

The countdown sort of takes care of the latter - and I question how well the drag racing community (at least in its current form) would take to an "easy mode" launch feature taking the whole issue of juggling wheel-spin out of the equation for them. They already frown on wheel users...

You got the list, and didn't even bother to share it first?

Regardless of which cars get added to GT6 compared to GT5, cars with a launch control feature will still very much be in the minority.

Well, that sort of contradicts your appeal for realism, doesn't it, since each car has a different approach to activating launch control.

In all honesty, I'd welcome it, provided it was implemented based on a per-car basis. A '97 Civic Type-R shouldn't have it, for example. I'd want it to mirror how it is done in the real life equivalent, and ideally, it'd be able to roughly match the results too (at least in stock form). Really, launch control is just an optimized version of traction control, that adjusts the throttle for the optimal acceleration times.

Unlike the last suggestion, this kind of, sort of, could, but it's definitely a minor addition.

Thanks for your post!

Yes each car has a different procedure to launch. But implementing all those procedures for all cars with launch control will be a hell of a task to do.

I forgot to mention that you will also have the option of installing a 2 step to a car, like a Integra or WRX.

Lunch control would be more appealing.

Procedure to activate LC in GT6 is as follows.

1. Come to a stop
2. Wind down your window
3. Place order
4. Drive to the next window
5. Wait distribution.

Kill it with fire. I don't even like it on real cars. I cannot see a point to using it at all, except maybe goofing off.

I don't drag race, but if I did I would probably like LC even less. You might as well have B-Spec drag racing.

I would only accept this feature if it could disabled for both your car and anyone else in your lobby.

There should definately be launch control in GT6, it would be a great feature to implement into the game;-)
