HortusIX - it was a genuine mistake against you, as the "steward" attested after the original complaint - whether you believe this or not, I have no control over, but can only again apologise. I myself was bashed up at the start of the race, but you don't find me throwing my toys out of my pram. I think the fact that nobody else complained against me is testament to the fact that I have a clean and honest approach, but am only human and liable to the odd mistake.

I will take a drop to the back of the grid, but would like to retain my 1 point from the race. Why should a few of use be punished via complaints, yet lots of other incidents have gone unpunished due to no complaints? Surely let's keep it consistent and if people demand penalties, the steward should review the entire race and punish all incidents regardless of complaints?

I also question - what sort of race series is it where people are able to make threats to have decisions changed? What sort of race series is it if the "steward" take a call one way, and is then persuaded to change their mind?

Think long and hard about this chaps - I'm an honest sort of guy who will hold my hand up and admit to mistakes, but I don't really like this sort of treatment and am questioning whether to continue with the series.

apology accepted 👍

The qualifying will be exactly the same next week but I will write down peoples positions.

everyone can run softs in quali and then start the race on softs too?

just a niggly little cut corner

Pulled from Top Gear BL cars ep: "A Rover SD1 styled to look like a Ferrari daytona and it does. It does have a few small niggly little faults....

Besides Clarkson, you're the first person I've heard use 'niggly' to describe anything car/race related. Just an observation

Lets just get this series over and learn what we need for the next.

One thing we do need is risk of complaint. If a driver lodges an issue they are penalised if it is not upheld. Also if a person lodges a complaint if they are found of any infraction they obtain the same as an upheld complaint against them.

Eg driver x hits driver y.... driver x gets a 5 point deduction, if not driver y gets a 5 point decduction.

This will mean people will have to evaluate the race before complaining. It's up to them if they wish to risk their place. Only the innocent will ever complain.

TLEUROPA WHERE ARE MY 18 POINTS or i will Quit Now!

No need to give you them now. Still plenty of time for others to complain if they wish.

They'll just wait until the end of the series and strip you of your title as they know you'll edge off if you are close to winning.

It's called tactics 👍

this is just unfair being 2nd now and get 12 points what a fking system worse mate

You are second in the championship so I dont see why it is still unfair. I don't want to be handing out penalisations because now there is a real air of sourness now.

Please can we just put all this behind us and focus on having fun in the next races.

I doubt that will happen.

We all now know the best way to win is to retrospectively complain.

The sword of 0 points hangs over GTP_racing, Blasto will probably be on -56 points etc.

Not sure I can be bothered to race any more, but will give Sunday's race a go and hope.

I hope you all know it will rain at De La Sarthe this sunday. Did say in a previous post a few times, just reminding now. Me and Seven are doing our 1st practise runs of the week right now!

we also tested in Sarthe n when it rains the soft tyres have almost same grip than if it'll be dry, so if wee keep the soft tyres(in rain) we must change to hard compund? or just the fact that it rains the rule gets nullified? just to make it clear before any complains.

btw, i did a 3:50.7xx, muriyo did 4:00.7xx, we will practice tonight

Oh hi tom :D We have to practice later on after the LLLLLLOOOOOONNNNGGGG system update! :( and after i've played my daily dose of playing black ops and killing people thinking they are david cameron :D Anyway...

I was just wondering whether you have been doing your testing offline in practice or online in a private lobby? The reason I say this is that offline the tyres do not make a difference in the rain, soft tyres have the same amount of grip as the wets. However, online the tyre glitch has been fixed as far as I can tell meaning that you truly need wets in the wet.

Here Blasto.

If it rains then you do not have to pit for softs.

we've been testing in an online lobby, i dont test offline because theres more grip n the times are generally like a second faster than online. mmm thats odd, we tested this tuesday n i didnt feel big difference.

Yeah, I don't test offline. It's strange that the soft tyres were usable in the wet; when I was testing for wet conditions on Suzuka about 2 weeks ago I tried to use dry tyres but I couldn't drive in a straight line. When I switched to the wet tyres the car became much more manageable, just as you'd expect.

I don't know what to say. If the difference in grip between dry and wet tyres is negligible then it may be an idea to simply enforce wet tyres.

yeah, that is what i want to clarify before the race, i will test again in a few minutes.

EDIT: Practice Report

i start with soft tyres n dry track, in the second lap started to rain, still my times were below 3:57 for the first 5 laps n the car felt good, didnt notice a real change for the wet track, i think the lap times were getting slower because the tyre wear, but once i changed the tyres(lap 7 n my lap time was 4:03), the car felt very difficult to drive even with intermediate n rain tyres, i just did 1 hotlap with every compound n was like this

Intermediate-------+25sec slower
Rain---------------+40sec slower
Soft Tyres---------+50sec slower (had to try it)
Hard Tyres---------+1:30min slower (dont even think about it lol)

btw, i kept on track for the whole 15 laps that i did for the test, i think that the key is to warm the tyres, but with the outlap n the hotlap the tyres were still cold.

NOTE: the rain did not stop

Blah at the tyre rules.

Softs on front, hard on rear is the killer combo.

Infact if you are nice to the tyres you may not even have to pit.

Yeah that is possible but...

Race Rules:

* Race leaders should always be let through if you are being lapped. Stay off their line.
* Upon entering and leaving the pits, stay within the white lines. Failure to do so may result in losing a final position
* Pit stops ARE madnatory. You will have to pit atleast once in each race.
*If it rains and drivers have to put inters/rain tyres on, then we go F1 style and forget about the Hard/Soft rules. If, however, the track remains dry, the Hard/Soft rule has to be fulfilled.

Why is the race leader telling the rules...?

Telling the rules? How about stating the rules. He is simply responding to a comment regarding the use of tyres, it seems appropriate to me that he is reminding everyone in the championship of quite an important parts of the series, especially after the confusion in the first race. Why would you have a problem with this?

I also can't help but notice that some comments that you have posted and directed at Alien have been quite negative, if it isn't about Mexican cars that make you 'gag' then you're complaining that he is stating rules or even disputing his driving style. Have you some kind of personal issue relating to either Alien or Mexico? I hope the severely scripted antics of Top Gear haven't adversely influenced you, it does seem to create a xenophobic air within audience members that are easily influenced.

Complaining? Where am i complaining - if i was going to complain i would complain at your ignorance and assumptions! I wasn't complaining at Alien 'stating' the rules i was asking why! Next you say i get my slight dislikeness to mexicans from topgear! i dont i was angry at Muyori cutting a few corners! ( Hes new to GT so i understand)! So you know what stop making 'quite negative' assumptions at me im bloody sick of it

i haven't run even one practice lap in my Tuscan yet, so might get some laps in later today so was just wondering - what sort of times are people running around the sarthe circuit so far?

i think i saw 4 minutes in an earlier post, is this right?

the answer to your question can be found by looking just above his post where you'll find somebody playing with the idea of racing with a combination of tyres on his car so as to reduce the need for a pit stop. he did actually quote the post in his own as well.

here's the post for you to take a gander at:

abaxas
Blah at the tyre rules.

Infact if you are nice to the tyres you may not even have to pit.

i think that perhaps abaxas was expressing discontent at having to pit which would have been the reason why Aliens quoted the rules from the OP in his post and specifically put into bold the part about mandatory pit stops.

i hope this clears things up for you 👍

I was expecting this kind of response. Internet grammar use is quite a difficult thing to grasp, you can hardly blame me for assuming that ellipsis is a sign of discontent, which by the way, in the context you used it it was. I will take the blame. But next time don't make such ambiguous statements, we need to realise your intent; one sentence posts are not an effective way of doing it.

And do you want to know what I'm sick of? Your inability to stick to the topic of the thread. Just one off topic post fills the thread with totally irrelevant information, it's as if you're talking to yourself. We don't need to know if you don't like a Mexican car, you can keep that in off topic. Also, by the by, I never said that you had got your dislikes from Top Gear. I merely suggested.

This is my final off topic post in this thread, Blasto you win.
