GTP_InitialR vs xXHannibaalXx
Winner: GTP_InitialR
Course: Mt. Kazumi by Vasho__
Style: Cat and Mouse
Rating: 4/5
We were both a bit out of it at first but then it turned into a nice match and InitialR offered a sudden death just to make sure (I pretty much lost the first two rounds :P). It was a nice battle but I guess I shouldn't race at 3 AM anymore :sly:, especially against 500 PP (the difference was pretty obvious on the straights, the track wasn't really to my advantage). Good driver and very fairplay though overall!

Send me challenges I only do grip gambler tho :) My mic is dead and I need a new charger, just letting you guys know. Thanks in advance.

Home Course: Akagui Touge (Mt. Aso)

Notes: Job and family doesn´t left me free time at all, but I´ll try to shedule some races. Please feel free to add me on PSN. I prefer to race with wheel but sometimes I´m forced to use DS3 because of noise during night.

I don´t know the exact lenght of my home course, but I lap it in 1:21 in my S2000 465pp, so it´s short. It as 2 very tricky corners, but I´ll give my rivals some advices so we can have a close and fun race.

I am a little confused. How can you tell whether you have suspension or chassis damage? And why isn't suspension damage also a loss?
My question never really got answered fully, so I'm just bringing it up again here.

I assume suspension damage is the damage at the 4 corners of the car Icon. whether it is a circle or a dot.

And Chassis damage/engine damage is anything in the middle.

Chassis damage (should be or) is a loss because well, it's considered that your car is totaled. Although 4WDs will still go strong and can still win races. That's why I think when your middle part of the small damage icon gets damaged, you should automatically raise the white flag...

Why isnt suspension damae a loss cause like some of the people said, it's just wobby, and you'll just have to cope with the flaw in control and I think that's fair and we can accept that as continue racing.

Is that clear? The Chassis damage/ engine damage or whatever you call it is a good call. And will be implemented in season 1.

It seems this thread has gotten the attention of many drivers. I'd like to point out to all the newcomers and 'veterans' alike that we're still in the preseason and not to take your losses too seriously and to learn from your mistakes.

We all owe our thanks to TimberW for taking time out of his day to set this amazing competition for us and to be patient while he formulates a solid scoring system.

It's up to you, the rivals, to help him iron out the creases. Along with submitting a thorough battle rating, it is also encouraged to comment and critique the battle system itself. If you have any ideas which would help battles go by smoother it would be much appreciated by myself and TimberW im sure.

Word of advice: you can't win a race in the first turn, so please please everyone do your best to race clean, avoid costly bumps which can damage your opponent and yourself as well. This adds to the excitement!! It's still only preseason, don't sweat the losses and HAVE FUN ON THE TOUGE!! :D

👍

3 Lap Cat & Mouse
Set No of Laps to 3 & Start Race.
Pitting is not allowed at all times.
Lap 1: One Rival will lead the first run
Lap 2: Both Rivals will switch places
Win Condition:
If the leading rival leads by a 5 seconds (To be revised), then he wins or;
The chasing rival overtakes and maintains his lead until the end point.
Lap 3: Tie Breaker - Challenger gets to pick whether he leads or chases.
Win Condition:
he leading rival must lead within 2.5 seconds (To be revised) to secure a win;
The chasing rival overtakes and maintains his lead until the end point.

Just to make this clear, if it is the first round of cat and mouse, im leading, and I win by 4 seconds does that mean i lose the first round because I didnt finish 5 seconds ahead? some people ive raced also make up their own terms in cat and mouse like if the chasing car passes the leading car, the leading car automaticly loses. I think we should have a LotS "Standard" where nothing is to be discussed or nagoitated, the rules are set and thats that.

I for one think that 5 secs is too much. I say if you finish 2 secs ahead of someone you have clearly won the round. But if you cross the line and the opponent is less than 2 sec behind you, you lose the round. That should be the standard for the first 2 rounds, now for the 3rd and final round. we should reduce the time to win to 1 sec but if your opponent is .999 sec behind you im sorry but you have lost.

Okay so what if the opponent has a finish line that he or she has marked out personally? how can you tell how far ahead you were? Thats why I personally would like to use 1 second for all 3 rounds For one you will have to be really Skilled and the racing must be really close to win. For two 1 sec in racing is easier to identify than 2 seconds and its more like the JDM Touge Videos :) if there is no standard rule set and I have to nagotiate every time I want to run cat and mouse, I guess Ill just do grip gambler.

Another thing that should be A LotS "standard" is when you challenge someone you should go to their home track, there for everyone should have one online track that is availible to be downloaded (it lets me know where to practice before I challenge you ;).
And instead of coming on the forums and asking for a battle you could be practicing their track preparing for a battle. The challenger should get to pick the race type and wether they Leads or follows.

It seems like you guys are taking the fun out of togue. There are way too many rules. Why can't it be just like Initial D where you drive what you bring to the place and we battle it along the togue. Cat and Mouse is just going back and forth why does it have to be so many rules to a simple thing, who ever leads the most wins or who ever passes and holds wins. Like really guys you make it so damn serious. I just want to beat some GTR's in my 86 Levin.

Your right in some ways but i highly doubt you will b eat any GTR's in your little levin lol

If Takumi Fujiwara can then I can to. lol. On the right togue then it's possible when the slower car doesn't have to brake so much then he passes GTR and since the road is thin then he can't pass him then Levin wins by default. Derp

Its not that its too serious or taking all the fun out it, cat and mouse is just another name for an Initial D style race, but what really determines the winner? i want the rules to be clear so there is no arguement over who won...but I do like the idea if your chasing in the first round and you pass and hold the lead till the end there should be no need for a second round.

This is pre-season and we are still working out all the bugs and refining the rules, and thank you for your point it should be simple and clear, but also like it or not there must be rules.

Was fun to play someone on their first battle in the league. I kept a 4+ sec distance in round 1. Round 2 I passed and took a 7+ sec lead. Great attitude and clean driver

That's why there's a pre-season. Yes, there should be a fixed set of rules. To get everyone on the same page.

Thanks for feedback thus far. I'll clear things up before season 1.

Ps I think the standard for cat & mouse should be 2 or 3 seconds. Also must be done during race mode so you have a clear time. Almost seems impossible to do in a open lobby full of random players. Ive only raced in pivate lobbies because of the people who wont get off the damn track lol.

I had never driven this terack. I DL off timber w. Nice track. We both had a 15 mins practice but neither of us realy new the track. I lead on 1st run and won 1st round by 7.7 seconds.
DRIFTERZZ lead on 2nd run and i over took him and held the lead for a while, then he fired 1 down the inside, slightly bumping me off track to retake me. He finished 1.0 seconds in front.

Good racer as i dont mind a bit of rubbing as long as its clean. 5/5

Im on now if anyone wants to race
