MONSTAR-1 vs DRIFTERZZ
Course: Ushimine
Winner: MONSTAR-1
Rating 5

I had never driven this terack. I DL off timber w. Nice track. We both had a 15 mins practice but neither of us realy new the track. I lead on 1st run and won 1st round by 7.7 seconds.
DRIFTERZZ lead on 2nd run and i over took him and held the lead for a while, then he fired 1 down the inside, slightly bumping me off track to retake me. He finished 1.0 seconds in front.

Good racer as i dont mind a bit of rubbing as long as its clean. 5/5

Im on now if anyone wants to race

Sorry, MONSTAR, but is DRIFTERZZ registered? Did I miss his post? If not be sure to get him to register his car here for that battle to be valid.

Hmm i dont know lol. He sent me a message saying lots. So i just assumed he was in the comp.
If he didnt and the battle dosnt count then fair enough. We raced by the rules though.

I used an EVO for my battles but im not uing that anymore. From now on ill be using 07 STI WRX. When do the cars have to be finalized?

Also what about considering changing tyres specs to sport softs?

And when is this comp starting?

I think DRIFTERZZ posted in here but never really registered a car. If he can register the car that he used for battle here, I will count that in. :)

Cars for a season is always finalised once you submit your car registration. Once you change a car, your stats and scores are reseted and you can only change once a week.

No, I will not consider sports soft.

Season 1 will not start next week, so that we won't clash with GTTC's debut Season 1 460PP event. It will probaby run for another 2 weeks, the pre-season.

Yes, last on the list.

I must be blind. can you let me know last on the list, which list?

Post #2 - last on the list is "deenie-bee" or; <- THIS is you! I figured it out... Monstar, it'll be good if you register the PSN ID instead.
Leaderboard - last on the list is "JFN_47"

I need your PSN to match.

PS: I know sooner or later I'm going to have this problem when trying to maintain more than one list. haha... But there's a solution to that.

In the leader board, how come im 11th with 2 wins and Takumi F has 1 win and more points than me and is 9th?

Just to make this clear, if it is the first round of cat and mouse, im leading, and I win by 4 seconds does that mean i lose the first round because I didnt finish 5 seconds ahead?

Answer:
No, you didn't lose the first round, neither did the chaser. There is no winner yet. The battle will continue to Round 2.

At Round 2, the players will switch places. And the winning conditions apply. So if the leader cannot widen the gap above the specified gap (currently it's set to 3 seconds), there is no winner yet and it will go into round 3.

At Round 3, A winner will be decided here. Currently there is 2 ways of doing round 3:
a) Grip Gambler: The last round will be decided side by side, and the player who crosses the finish line wins.
b) Cat & Mouse: One rival will be the leader and the other the chaser. There is a gap which will decide the winner. (Currently it's set to 2 seconds)
SO at the end of the finish line (or a place where there is a checkpoint),
if the gap between the 2 players is under 2 seconds, the chaser wins,
if the gap between the 2 players is over 2 seconds, the leader wins.

some people ive raced also make up their own terms in cat and mouse like if the chasing car passes the leading car, the leading car automaticly loses. I think we should have a LotS "Standard" where nothing is to be discussed or nagoitated, the rules are set and thats that.

Answer:
No, the if the chasing car passes the leading car, it is not an automatic win.
The win will only be awarded if the chasing car can maintain his lead until the end point.

I for one think that 5 secs is too much. I say if you finish 2 secs ahead of someone you have clearly won the round. But if you cross the line and the opponent is less than 2 sec behind you, you lose the round. That should be the standard for the first 2 rounds, now for the 3rd and final round. we should reduce the time to win to 1 sec but if your opponent is .999 sec behind you im sorry but you have lost.

Answer:
That's why there's a pre-season, I haven't have enough statistical races to determine a reasonable gap yet. The gap will make or break this series. Why? Not everyone are pro drivers like in Initial D. Setting the gap too small will cause result in less 2nd rounds, making cat and mouse battle option less attractive. Although I am considering adjusting the gap according to the Driver Level.

EDIT: After some help from some volunteers, Vasho and HKS, I decided that the gap will be 3 seconds and 2 seconds.

Okay so what if the opponent has a finish line that he or she has marked out personally? how can you tell how far ahead you were? Thats why I personally would like to use 1 second for all 3 rounds For one you will have to be really Skilled and the racing must be really close to win. For two 1 sec in racing is easier to identify than 2 seconds and its more like the JDM Touge Videos :) if there is no standard rule set and I have to nagotiate every time I want to run cat and mouse, I guess Ill just do grip gambler.

Answer:
That is why an end point has to be a some form of checkpoint.
And that's why it has to be done in a race situation with only 2 cars on the track.
For the second part of that paragraph, see above answer.

Another thing that should be A LotS "standard" is when you challenge someone you should go to their home track, there for everyone should have one online track that is availible to be downloaded (it lets me know where to practice before I challenge you ;).
And instead of coming on the forums and asking for a battle you could be practicing their track preparing for a battle. The challenger should get to pick the race type and wether they Leads or follows.

Answer:
Yes, all home tracks at the moment must be hosted by the rival. But I don't have the means to police it or enforce it. This is what it is stated in the rules, if you have a home course you'll have to host it. See post #3.
And yes, the challenger gets to pick the race type, unless the challenger lets the opponent choose.

You have 7 race and 1 win but are 7th? lol

How does the point system work?

At the moment it's flawed. I admit.

It uses a combination of driver level & car PP difference.

Because I use 450PP car, when I win against a 500PP car, I get bonus points.

Also, if you challenge a driver which is different level, you also get bonus points.

But all that haven't been balanced properly yet. I rather have the mechanics sorted out first then get into the details of the scoring system.

:)

I'm hosting a room now for people to battle.... :)

I found out I had to continue Shibuyama so I'm switching it to Mt. Akina

After some willing volunteers' help... THE NEW CAT AND MOUSE GAP IS....

3 seconds for Round 1 & Round 2
2 seconds for Round 3

What it means is: look at post #435 at page 22.

Fair race, but my S15 was left in the dust in the corners. No lag, no bumping, so TF01 is a fair racer. 👍 That Amuse S2000 is a monster in the corners. Maybe we should test out a normal S2000 with the same amount of power and weight against the S2000 on similar tyres, pre-tuned cars do seem to have an advantage.
