Date: 15/7/11
Rival 1:Knight-Spirit
Rival 2: MONSTAR-1
Course: Ushimine
Batte Style: Cat & Mouse
Winner: MONSTAR-1
Battle Rating: 3 out of 5
He had carbon diffusers (canards) on his car (although not classified as front aero in gt5, should be) and refused to race at night. Other than that, good racer, looks like I need to spend longer than 5 minutes tuning my car XD

Raced Knight or if you would call it that.
Ive been running the same spec car for all my battle and no one has said a bad thing about me yet.
Lap 1 Knight led and i passed him very early and pulled away to win by 5+ seconds. He quit and said i was running front aero. Which im not as there is no tuning for front aero on my WRX.

We raced on my home track so i choose to race in day light. He reckons its illegal to do that but its not. So that 2 things he has accused me of and none of them are right. I suggest reading the rules Knight before you battle anyone else/

I give this bloke a 0 out of 5

I told you once that you should take that thing off. I never raced you and that probably doesn't affect the car, but people with standard cars can't use that.

Any room up?

I dont see how thats my problem. If people with standards cant have it then they shouldnt complain if others have it. Its there choice to race a standard car and my choice to race a premium.
There's more to a good tune than just some lousy front aero but some people cant tune, cant race so they look for any excuse they can find.

Ok, no need to start an argument.

I'm going to quit guys, seems some people can't follow the rules and then have a go at me for pointing it out...

And no need to quit.

C'mon guys, it was a race. Sure it didn't go well but other battles from LotS didn't go according to plans either.

As far as I can see, Knight gave it a fair go. A battle rating of 3 is not unreasonable. He isn't a regular in this thread and the rules are changing as it is expected in the pre-season.

MONSTAR on the other hand, giving a 0 is too harsh in my opinion, as knight still came and posted the result, giving a fair rating as well.

As the rules states, as long as the part doesn't give a front aero option, it is legal. That doesn't mean that it won't change. But that is how the rules are at the moment. And there's no rule to have to battle at night. If you got problem with that, sort it out before agreeing to battle. Once you agree upon the battle conditions, you would already know what type of advantage and disadvantage you would have entering the race

Also Knight, you just spent 5 mins on your tune and did give an impression that your tune can be improved. I believe you, MONSTAR and a couple of other drivers here in LotS are in the top tier level. And tuning is going to play a part in the race, especially when racing similar level drivers.

Also the race was agreed upon before the race started. Since it was your first meeting, the rules are agreed upon mutually. But next week when Knight asks for a rematch, he will be able to set the location and battle conditions. So then Knight can choose the battle to be at night. And that part is stated in the rules.

Clarification is better than accusing. The same sentence can be taken either way. So it'll be the attitude which will determine how you interpret the response.

It's easy to let one bad egg spoil the whole basket. A great series can only be great because of the people in it. So a good attitude will sustain the series, and that is what we are building here.

If you think I'm lop sided in my views, let me know, so I can improve. Not to point out that I am bias, but to help me improve my judgement.

So your quiting because someone put on a piece of body kit not at all performance wise, and because your opponent refused to do things your way.

No that's fair enough, I'm just making sure the races are fair...
I said straight after the battle, fair enough you've won and didn't at all suggest that he was cheating or that the only reason he won was because of his front aero, he obviously had a better car than me. When I said good race, he just said 'no not a good race' . It's not the kind of attitude I expected when signing up to this, it's just for a bit of fun after all...

OK I've powered up my PS3 and...

Bought the Subaru IMPREZA WRX STi '07 new from the dealership

- Stock PP of vehicle is 457PP

- After installing the front aero, the PP is 457PP
So using the PP as a means of proving, that means the front aero type A doesn't do anything. Also, installing this part didn't allow for any front aero adjustable option.

- After installing the rear aero, the PP is 466PP
And after installing this part, there is an adjustable aero option for the rear.

"SO", the conclusion so far for the Subaru IMPREZA WRX STi '07, both aero parts can be used. This may or may not apply to other premium cars cause I just tested one car.

Yeap, that's for clarifying things. Hope you'll change your mind and stick with us... I still haven't managed to battle you evenly yet... lol.

just to be sure look at the aero section in the tuning menu and look at the front aero box if there is a number there higher than zero it is creating down force even if it is dark and you can't adjust it. Don't mean to drag this out and both Knight and MONSTAR seem like good dudes.

What's a good laptime for a 500PP car on Shigegaki's Touge MAX course?
I've gotten a 2'44 there.

When front aero is installed, there isn't any aero option available to see. After installing both front and wing aero, the reading reads 0 at the front.

So when Season 1 starts, are we going to start from a clean slate with the levels, points, etc?

Yes, it will be a clean slate.

Wait, so now we're allowed to race during the daytime? Surely there should be a ruling on that about racing at night.

There has never been any rules that state that you must race at night. Cause not all custom tracks have the night option, so this will not be enforced.

However having said that, if you are a challenger asking for a rematch, you can set up the race to be at night. It is stated in the rules that the challenger asking for a rematch can set the race conditions.

Thats understandable, but what about tracks that can have the night driving option should keep it at night, just to keep it JDM tight yo.

You'll be surprised that sometimes, day racing will provide closer and more exciting racing. :) I'm leaving it optional for the two rivals to decide. :) find Knight_Spirit, he'll race you at night anytime I think.

I'll be heading in in a minute. I'm just firing up my Spotify playlist. I never have to use proxies again!

Also, Timber. I was thinking of including some sort of points system or bonus point or leadboard for track records for each of the home courses being used in LotS.

I think it would be awesome. Just like when Project D tries to break the course record after they defeat the two drivers.

Good idea Wardez. CRIBANOX ask me what my lap time around ushimine but I couldn't remember. I think it's something like 3:35 or 3:25 something like that.

That sounds like a great idea, we can think of a way of facilitating this. Maybe something like this, if a challenger beats someone on their home course. They are given the opportunity to break the best lap record. But they are just given 3 laps to do so.

At the moment, it'll seem like a logistical nightmare for me, but i'll try figure a good way of managing it.

I had though of that yesterday after seeing the 4th stage again. I think it's a good idea. But that would be confusing for the people that have the same track as their home course.

Yes I think that'll be a bit confusing. Perhaps all the home courses may need to be created by each user or at least get permission from the creator of the map.

And have a set of popular mutual ground courses. For example, Ushimine will be a mutual course, and cannot be chosen as a home course.
