So then let's do this together.

No more Nürburgring!!

Besides, the track is so high-speed, with few low-speed corners/sections, that it becomes monotonous running it over and over. And tuning for the 'ring only leaves you at a disadvantage when tackling shorter tracks where the low-speed corners come at you faster.

If you guys want the Touge Community to resuscitate, the start by making things interesting again.

Who's the fastest at Deep Forest? Who's the smoothest at Trial Mountain? Who's the most daring at Matterhorn? Who's the most agile at Bathurst?

Or would you rather keep ringing around the German Rosie?

When the course creator finally does come out, do you think we'll be seeing custom tracks resembling the Nordschleife? Or will we be seeing Green Dragons, Little Tujungas,GMR's, and Transfăgărășan's?

Man, I wish I had my stuff together right now... I moved and currently don't have a setup for my wheel. Also the new job, new house, new kitten, new motorcycle are kindof gobbling up all my time...
I do like Trial Mountain and Bathurst too.

lol Bathurst is more my style. Lol but trial mountain n deep forest I don't like as much. Not touge like to me. It's circuit racing to me. I think Bathurst n Matterhorn r more touge like with the corners n not as wide lol

what?! Dude, those two tracks are the sheer definition of touge lol.

Lol umm how snake?

c'mon man. Isn't it obvious?

the roads may not be as narrow as the Nürburgring but they have all the characteristics of touge.

winding mountain roads. Haven't you seen the surrounding areas in those two tracks? I like to believe that those two original tracks were PD's attempt at bringing some sort of Japanese touge influence into the game in their own style. Trial Mountain even has the iconic rock-brick walls lining the course.

PD has made it a thing to have some sort of Initial D themed courses in every game.

With those two tracks, as well as cars like the S.S. AE86 and Sil80. As well as tracks like Eiger and Matterhorn. Both of which are fictitious touge based on real-world locations.

I had some pretty fun runs yesterday. Found a lobby of new touge drivers running at Matterhorn, kicked it with them a bit. Then had some awesome Class C battles with @787bcgr at Deep Forest . Cat and Mouse U-turn. AE86 vs CR-X was super fun.

Afterwards, I ran my Skyline coupe 370GT against some interesting opponents at the Nürburgring. Also, the R32 vs R34 battles with @iSLaNd_CuRt were hella fun!

Hey guys, I decided that I'll be taking it upon myself to liven up the touge scene.

I'll be hosting Touge Tournaments on multiple days of the week. Since my work schedule is consistent these days, I'll try to be on point with these lobbies. Moving into a new apt on Friday as well and I won't be using McWiFi hopefully lol.

Wednesdays: C or B Class
Fridays: S Class or "other"
Sundays: A class

All tournament lobbies run from 9pm-12am EST.

At first, I'm thinking of 8 or 12-man brackets. Who's interested?

I'm interested. Just what the community needs until the course maker is released

Hello everyone!

It's Wednesday, and here are the details for tonight's tournament.

Track: Deep Forest Reverse
Cars: Class C (420PP, <1801CC, 2WD)
Bracket: Seeded
Elimination: Single
Participants: 8
Seeding: 30-minute TA
Event: Best of 3 Runs, Cat n' Mouse U-Turn

Lobby will be up at 9PM EST or earlier. First come, first serve.

DISCLAIMER:
If you leave or are disconnected while awaiting to battle and fail to return before your match, your turn will be skipped, giving you a chance to make it back into the lobby before the current tournament round has competed. If you're disconnected during a battle, you'll get 5 minutes to rejoin before your match is skipped.

If you've failed to rejoin the lobby and are holding up the tournament with your absence, you will lose your match by default... for the sake of keeping things moving smoothly.

Single-elimination 8-man tournaments comprise of 3 rounds. Round 1, 8 players; Round 2 (Semi-Finals), 4 players; Round 3 (Finals), 2 players.

-----

Good Luck to all who join!

p.s.: Since there's no word on when the course maker roll arrive, I'll be adding stipulations to these tournaments. There will be a points system based on how far you make it in each tournament you participate in. What the points will mean, only time will tell. But I was thinking of the top 8-12 drivers after a few weeks be invited to an Olympic-style pooled tournament.

Rumor: Isle of Man TT Course Considered for Gran Turismo 7
July 18th, 2014 by Jordan
John-McGuinness-Isle-of-Man-tt-638x424.jpg

A “team of programmers from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe” are reportedly on the Isle of Man, studying the famous TT Race circuit which stretches over 37.73 miles across public roads on the island.

The report comes from Bike Sports News magazine, who claims a source from the Isle of Man’s tourism department informed them that Sony are considering the track for inclusion in Gran Turismo 7 on the PlayStation 4.

A “deal” has yet to be struck, however, which would indicate SCEE is in the very early stages of negotiating track licensing and the ultimate future of the track in GT7 is still uncertain.

At over 37 miles in length, modeling a track at the scale of the Snaefell Mountain Course would be a significant accomplishment for Polyphony Digital, and the longest track in any Gran Turismo game to date. By comparison, the Nurburgring 24h circuit is 15.5 miles, and the upcoming GT6track based around Zahara de la Sierra, Spain is expected to be 16.7 miles.

Regardless, the most interesting (and obvious) point to note is that the Isle of Man TT is the most historic and famous motorcycle race in the world. Although cars occasionally run the circuit for exhibition or record-breaking attempts, the race and the course is almost exclusively associated with motorcycles, and will likely fuel new speculation about Polyphony’s plans to include them in GT7.

This would not be unprecedented: back in 2006, Polyphony Digital released Tourist Trophy for the PlayStation 2, a motorcycle game built upon GT4‘s game engine. Later that year, Gran Turismo HD was revealed at E3, and famously showcased both types of vehicles side-by-side, though bikes have since been absent from the world of Gran Turismo.

Thanks to @naidsy for the tip!

UPDATE: GTPlanet users who live on the Isle of Man are reporting that a Gran Turismo team was spotted at the airport. Police have also informed local residents that this service vehiclewould be driven slowly around the circuit over the next two weeks by “Japanese technicians”.

I highly doubt it, a lot of that track is done flat out on a bike in excess of 190mph. There is a video of the track run in a car somewhere....

I want to thank all those who participated in last night's tournament. It was a rough start, with the first battle being restarted two or three times, but there were some great battles to be had.

I believe every battle was 1.6L vs 1.8L. In the end, it was Curt's EK vs. CG in the MG. Who came out on top?!

I'll post details of future tournaments in this thread. Till next time!
