Got my Lego bits last night after one failed attempt to deliver them earlier in the week - apparently Lego use Yodel to deliver online orders, but Yodel required a signature and so didn't post the package midweek because I was not in (I was at work ). I rearranged delivery for today, but somehow they managed to deliver it last night without a signature after all... very strange.

Anyway, I was a bit disappointed to find that two pieces are missing from my Pick-a-brick selection. I ordered 70 pieces in total - enough to make two identical sets of this:

Both L-shaped green bits are missing :( Fortunately, I can still make the set with the other pieces that I ordered, so it is just as well I ordered enough for two sets... I've contacted Lego to ask them to send me the missing bits or send me a refund, although the missing pieces are worth about 6 pence each

I had a go at making some different sets and actually playing the game... it does work, although it is alot harder than playing it on the computer, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The bits are a bit fiddly, and it will be very difficult to play more complex boards. Will post some pics of the real thing when I can get some batteries for my camera - the set is so small that my mobile phone can't get any decent pictures of it :D

Guys, I have to say that I'm loving what I'm seeing in this thread. I gotta pull out my sets and build something to show you all. 👍

Always glad so have someone new come into the thread. Welcome Johnny.
Thanks, Ben. I've been a Lego person my whole life, and even now I still see what I can get or build to pass my boredom. Lego is just one of many hobbies for me, and obviously you know what one other one is. :)

I do and with me looking for my own house Im hoping to have enough room it to display both of my collections or enough money left over to build a shed to display it all in.

Finished making my LEGO Sokoban game present for my nephew - I've called it LEGOban :P I've printed out a mini build-guide as well as basic instructions incase he actually wants to try to play it as a game, but given that he will only be 6 years old on his birthday, it might be a little too complicated for him right now. But the beauty of it is that he can build different levels and doesn't necessarily need to 'play' them - perhaps he can build them and give them to his grandparents to solve... that will keep everyone busy

Anyway, here is the finished article...

That's a brilliant Idea.

Wow, that must have taken some time! I imagine that it cost a bob or two as well??

I gave my nephew the Lego Sokoban sets last night... understandably he was slightly more interested in the Skylanders Swap Force game that he got at the same time, but he did seem to like the Lego, and we made up both sets together. I explained to him that he can make his own sets and that he doesn't have to play it as a game, but I tried to explain to him how the game works anyway... I think he understood it better than my parents did

Anyway, I grew quite attached to the sets while I had them, and so I've ordered another batch of pieces - this time I've ordered a 16 x 16 base plate in order to make more complex boards. I'm hoping the bits will turn up some time next week!

Here's another design I came up with last night - a portable colour Sudoku set/board.

The little compartment will have a lid to keep all the 1x1 colour tiles in, and I'm not sure how big it will have to be to accommodate 81 colour pieces (90 if I include a spare tile for each colour). The other idea is to have a closable hole in the top and to seal off the gap completely, and dispense the playing pieces like Tic-Tacs... I got that idea after buying a box of Tic-Tacs yesterday

I'm thinking of making it for my Dad/Father's Day... there's only one small problem - he's colour blind :ouch:

Nice, although I think you'd need a 6x2 on top of your colours. Currently it looks like the guesser would be able to see them.

Here's the final version of my Sudoku box, and I've now ordered the pieces to make it :) - excluding delivery, it will cost £16 - including delivery it's more like £20-22, which is a bit more than I bargained for, but I want one now :P

I was hoping that my Lego bits would arrive today, but alas they haven't shown up. The package was shipped yesterday and was last seen at 7 am yesterday morning, so I kind of expected it to arrive at some point today - that was until I checked the tracking website and saw where the package was last seen... in Poland :(

I probably haven't touched my Lego's in years until recently when I introduced my daughter to them.

And now I'm hooked again. Its funny how seeing one piece can trigger a building frenzy. I must have spent hours rebuilding sets from my youth just by seeing one memorable piece.

In the evenings over the past 3 days I've rebuilt my old X-1 Patrol Craft (6861) and 3 versions of the Lunar Patrol Craft (6872). One to original color and piece specs and 2 variations ... Just because I had that, "I wonder how it would look if ..." thought while I built the original.

I absolutely forgot how addictive Legos could be.

Do I have to share them with my kids now??

Lego can be very addictive. Have you got any pics of the sets you rebuilt?

LDD is a bit limited, but I imagine that makes it a bit more user friendly than a more advanced CAD programme.

I remember when I ordered from Pick a Brick and they said it would take up to 15 business days, it took about 7. And even after I got it the tacking software thought it was still in Poland.

I love the big Technics set and I have the Opera House and its one of my favourite Lego Models but I have a bit of a bias towards it.

Why haven't I visited this thread for so long?

Well anyway, this is my latest, a Go-Kart. Lego haven't released one for a number of years, so I hough I'd build my own.

It features working steering, and that's about it. However I did try to build it like a real go kart, with a tubular frame etc.

I have also built a real life version, but I've not taken pictures yet.

For pneumatic engines, have at look at LPE Power. Those guys make engines that can reach stupidly high rpm's. For sequential gearboxes, there's a guy called Sheepo who builds incredible cars, all of which have sequential gearboxes, although unlike that one, they don't have to be programmed via NXT.

I've also got some pictures of the Go-Kart!
