Got my order in for the SP3, first time waiting until midnight to get it. Used my VIP $20 discount to help a bit.
Same here, waited 'til midnight because I was certain it would sell out, but turns out it is still available right now anyways. Oh well, used my $50 off VIP discount for it.Got my order in for the SP3, first time waiting until midnight to get it. Used my VIP $20 discount to help a bit.
I was thinking that too, but may be due to the high price? I probably should have gotten the book instead, that sold out quick.Same here, waited 'til midnight because I was certain it would sell out, but turns out it is still available right now anyways. Saw this one at the Lego store in Vegas.I grabbed the Optimus today <3 I could only buy one And I spaced on buying the SP3 and Lambo, so I ordered them and another Optimus online instead. I sure hope everyone loves/buys the Optimus set so Lego will eventually make a Devastator set.

I read on the interwebs that the manual has a bunch of mistakes in it, important ones too. Mine arrived today too, so I have to decide to build the Lambo or Ferrari first, haha.
I am about halfway through the build using the digital instruction manual, which had some of the issues fixed but not all. However, the issues I'm seeing are minor and can be worked around easily.I read on the interwebs that the manual has a bunch of mistakes in it, important ones too. I think that 1x1 stud is an awesome idea. I'm going to do the same, actuallyI finally got round to building Optimus today. All told he was a fun build however, he's somewhat flimsy in both modes.
This is mainly down to the central pivot which is anchored by the belt/bumper on just two studs. Combined with the overly stiff (yet somehow with lots of play) ball joints makes for a lot of wobbles and limited play/pose possibilities.
I've never glued Lego before, but it almost seems necessary to add a bit to the tail light section on the feet as they appear to take all the weight and seem to loosen too easily and cause him to lean forward.
In truck mode again there's a few sags. I was able to fix this to some degree with the below mod:

The 1x1 tile slots into the arm and takes the weight closing up the gap you can see in the picture. It doesn't affect the transformation either.
I also made sure to invert the stickers on the thighs as Lego have got the artwork the wrong way round compared to the toy/cartoon. Not quite sure how they missed that (though didn't the GT-R also have an upside down sticker on the box art?)
At the end of the day, it's two of my favourite childhood toys combined so I was never going to pass on it and I think Lego have really nailed it. The end result is arguably better than some Transformers toys!
Time depending, and whether or not the boss wants to watch shows this week, I'll get started on the Ferrari this week.I am about halfway through the build using the digital instruction manual, which had some of the issues fixed but not all. Nice I've completed the GT3RS and a slightly smaller scale RSR. I received the Sian as a xmas pressie and am only on book 3 now six months later. Just plain lazy really. I do have the LED lighting kit for it though. All finished! I didn't take many pictures, but the set looks good when finished. Honestly, not as impressive as the Sian that came before it in terms of functions, but it was a fun build nonetheless.

Hey, we all have our own pace! Initially, I wanted to save the Ferrari for the winter months because it's too nice outside to be sitting in, but I couldn't resist.Nice I've completed the GT3RS and a slightly smaller scale RSR. Love it! My photo will look similar...you know, when I build the next twoAll finished! I didn't take many pictures, but the set looks good when finished. Honestly, not as impressive as the Sian that came before it in terms of functions, but it was a fun build nonetheless.

Actually, it is easy to remove.I've been looking at these but never taken the plunge, can you advise (when you get to that part) if the cowling is removable to show the engine please?
Ah, that's brilliant. I see you went for the proper sticker set too!
The F40 looks absolutely tiny in this image. Finally finished the Lambo. I'll admit it was a bit tedious half way through since I just did the Ferrari and the builds are very similar. I also hate the look of the 911 so I did the Stratos alternate build ❤️ Now I can move on to ordering and building my N64...eventually.

I used to have that set! I still have part of it sitting in my old lego bin I imagine. Great find!Got the recent gift with purchase Forest Hideout (40567) and also managed to find most of the pieces in my attic to build the original Forestmen's Hideout (6054) from 1988. Pretty neat!

Why does Lego keep making such banging kits? I'm running out of room! The next Creator car is a 1969 Camaro Z/28. Looks pretty neat, with different color stripe options and the ability to make it a convertible. Was hoping for a more vibrant color, but black is fitting for the car.

Haha, I ran out of room a long time ago, Lego just keeps making good stuff. The Camaro was not expected so soon so August is looking to be an expensive month. Why does Lego keep making such banging kits? I'm running out of room!
