As I was running practice last night, I noticed a giant blue and yellow box van dropping off these flimsy pieces of wood off at turn 4. Not sure what it was for, but who knows?

Just a reminder....stay off the red zones. Repeat offenders will be penalized. 2 wheels inside the white lines at all times. The only exceptions are mistakes and to avoid accidents. You've had a week to practice so you should be able to make it around the track without using the run off areas.

Entering pit road: All 4 wheels must be inside the white line before you reach the horizontal white line. No more than 2 wheels should be inside the white line if you are not planning to pit. In other words, please don't swerve out of the pits at the last second. It is unsportsman like. Also keep in mind that you will have to brake entering the pits. Practice it during warm up so you get it right. Otherwise you'll get jammed up in there.

Exiting pit road: Do not cross the white line. That means you have to take turn 1 from the inside...practice this during warmup and you'll have a better chance of not ruining someone else's race with your pit exit.

Swerving down the straights: As per GTP OLR, you've got one move to block. Swerving is unsportsmanlike and will be penalized. The guy behind you will draft you...deal with it and draft him back on the next lap. If you're worried about a last lap draft pass...make sure you are in the right position.

Glad you mentioned this.

Fellow Yellow and Blue,
We may be outmanned. We may be swedish, but we are not anything if not winners! I ask little you 5 days a week, but come tuesdays and wednesdays, I ask you this. Be Awesome. Whoa!!!! Be awesome because the alternative is to suck at life. Don't do that. Nobody remembers the losers unless they went out with a Whoa!! Our victory shall not be determined by the standings of the race, but our standing with the racers. So, gather yourself...prepare yourself and arrive in good spirits. For tonight is merely the beginning. We may have started this venture as individuals, but we continue as one. We will not surrender till the last drops of blue and yellow sweat fall from our face. Who are we? We R we men. We are IKEA.

Also,

Please do not install parts right after the race. I need to inspect the cars the way they are. You can actually share your car before entering the race if you think you're going to forget to do it. It won't show up under your favorites but it will appear in your premium/standard list.

I'm done for the season, I'm sick of dealing with PD's inconsistent physics as I discussed to great length in the tuesday thread, have fun guys.

If theres an open spot a friend of mine would love to join the series, he could be ready for next week if needed :)

Huyler, he can have it...I'll only race if theres room - otherwise I'll do colour (color for you yanks) commentary with Twitchie.

I can't do 2 nights in a row regularly.

We've got room for both of you because baldwin backed out.

Pyxen, send me a PM with your car details.

makorunner, please build a 385pp car following the rules in the first post. Then you can add 10,000 cr worth of upgrades. Pick your parts for the 385 bit carefully, since any part over 385 you have to pay for. Drivers tend to pick more expensive parts first. Once you have selected a car and parts, PM me the details and send a PSN friend request to chuyler1.

Here are the current standings: https://docs.google.com/a/huyler.ne...9OdENsOFNTN0Zld0NJV2RFRjlKWWdYMWc&output=html

Rosoo has decided to back out of the series. It is probably for the best. He hit MMK on lap 1 turn 1 after everyone was given explicit instructions to drive safely into turn 1. He divebombed and leaned on Cujo at the chicane, and he punted me at least 3 times (luckily I did not incur damage though).

I would like to remind everyone to read the GTP OLR one more time. I know you've probably read it before, but do it again so we don't have any further incidents. It sounds like there may have been a little pent up aggression after the Tuesday race. Aside from rosoo though, the racing I saw looked pretty clean.

Some key points...

01:C:
You are expected to compete in a fair and honest manner. With fair and honest is meant according to the GTP online racing rules, not according to your own interpretation of fair and honest.

01:J:
Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas in behind out-of track-lines. Track specific boundaries will be clarified in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

FYI, Things looked pretty good at Fuji with minimal trips to the run off areas

05:A:
Contacts and collisions must be avoided at all costs.
05:B:
Pushing other cars in turns or pushing them off the track is strictly prohibited.
05:C:
Leaning on other cars is strictly prohibited in any situation.
06:A:
The behind driver must take all necessary care and responsibility not to run into an ahead driver.

Contact Concessions:

07: A:
If there’s contact between drivers that results in the guilty driver making up places on the innocent driver, the guilty driver should immediately allow the innocent driver to pass freely to re-establish their position. This rule should be observed, even if it means the guilty driver has to allow drivers not involved in the incident to pass while waiting for the driver they contacted.
07: B:
If the appropriate contact concession is carried out by the guilty driver then they may avoid or reduce the severity of any penalties that might otherwise apply.
07: C:
If the appropriate contact concession is not carried out by the guilty party then the usual penalties would apply.
07: D:
If you have to slow down to let the other player through, move out of the racing line first before you slow down. Coming to a full stop is not allowed, just continue at a lower pace until the other driver passes you again.

All these rules are very important for full damage racing. Learning to follow other cars around the track can be just as challenging, if not more, as trying to pass. With Fuji, passing was just a matter of following close enough to be in a position to draft pass. With lemons racing it is quite possible you can't draft pass everyone...so sometimes it is best to just follow and use your opponents speed to improve your lap times. I did this with Cujo until he had to make his pit stop. After that, it didn't take long for galkazoid to catch me. Without Cujo's speed, I had no hope of passing him. A few times I got a better run through the corners, but that only lasted as far as the straight. Rather than risk both our positions, I just stayed close and conceded the position...unless he made a big enough mistake for me to pass and pull away.

On another note, I think the reward system is working out very well. At one point I looked at the map and everyone except diabolic and james were running bumper to bumper single file.

Race was kind of mellow last night, until 5 to go. Dabney, Sleight, and myself raced back and forth, epic.

Yeah with 5 to go, that was when galkazoid was no longer content with being behind me. He'd pass on the straight, I'd get a good run on turn 1, or turn 3, or turn 5 and pass him back. At one point I pulled a pretty good gap through the esses but it wouldn't have been enough to beat him to the start finish. He'd always catch me. The final 2 laps he got out front and made sure he didn't miss a single apex. My rear tires were losing grip so I couldn't get around him through 4-5 anymore.

Yeah, you'll do better next week at Autumn Ring. Your winnings should bump you up to mid-pack, maybe more given how well the miatas do on tight courses.

A few more laps and we might have caught up with chuyler.

I'm not sure how I pulled away from you guys...except maybe by drafting. By the end I was 25 seconds ahead. Dabney's car was about on par with me and Sl3ight should have been quick too. Did you guys pit?

That's cause we're awesome :dopey:

Oh and another 2 laps and I would have fell from 2nd to 5th or 6th. I butchered those tires but I'm not apologizing. Although its worth noting that this coming week will be far worse. 40 laps of Autumn Ring means my FTO will be a 2 pit car. Its fast, really fast in fact, but after just 8-9 hot laps last night I was in really trouble! This may be the race to bank for that elusive suspension 💡

Oh by the way, did everyone get dumped from the room when I left? I set it to "fixed host" when I opened the room.

Autumn ring should be very interesting. It's a technical course but there is still room to make time with a fast car. With the amount of turning involved, the no-pit strategy likely won't work too well. However, passing is very difficult since the course constantly switches between left and right turns. You've got very little time to gain on someone before they shut the door for the next turn.

The miata seems to handle pretty good, very stable for sure with very even tire wear. Hopefully that will be to my advantage :)
