The times are always subject to change. Just try to sign on at 9:30. If PSN is down, I'll postpone the race up to 30 minutes, but after that we'll just have to reschedule for next week.

PS, get your parts selections in!

Huyler, I will have my parts to you as soon as I get home. I meant to send them last night after the race.

I'll have my parts selected in a bit. I just have to finish breaking in the engine of my test car before I can do a quick test session.

Edit: Parts selection sent.

IKEA ERITE! Lol, I don't expect a podium tonight, but I'm not going to sandbag, I just think it's time for my car to start losing. But, if I win, I won't hate it. :P

I'm going to be fighting my suspension all night. If I can get through this race, I think I'll be fine on the racing tires...but that's a big IF.

huyler, can I sit in again? I'll just run my civic from last night and see if I can do any better.. I can quit out before the end of the 7th lap so that I don't affect the standings maybe.

Umm, not sure. What do others think? I dont want your presence on the track ruin anyone else's race. Perhaps you can race sl3ight's car if he still cant get online?

just successfully signed in to PSN

but i'm still under the impression that at 10pm GT5 online services go down

previously we were kept offline due to PSN reasons

i think

He should run sl3ight's car says I.

I'm down with subbing for sleight if he can't get online. I'll check the spreadsheet for his setup and see if I can match it. If he shows, I can just watch.

Terrible tonight. I have no idea why I tried to help btw on the straight. It only damaged my front end and I certainly would never receive any push during a race from anyone. I coulda breezes by and been 5 sec ahead. I'm going for broke the last races. I should win sarthe and all I want is to win. I think I might just sandbag for max cash, get engine 3 and turbo 2 with titanium exhaust.... All in for a win!

I'm way happier with tonight's race than last night! Until I wrecked on the last lap, I had 6th in the bag...too bad I got a tad greedy! Still.. Thanks for the chance to race Huyler! I'm pretty sure I didn't get in the way of anyone.

Standings are updated: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...9OdENsOFNTN0Zld0NJV2RFRjlKWWdYMWc&output=html

11 points separate the top 6 racers...so it will be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few races.

Last night my race was somewhat uneventful, but James kept me honest. At the start, Dabney was on the pole but he didn't accelerate off the grid. I drove past him at half throttle and pulled a 2 second gap by the first sector while everyone behind me tried to figure out who they were going to run with. I increased the gap to 4 seconds by the 2nd sector and about 6 seconds by the end of lap 1. From there, I saw the split times fluctuate. I was braking a little early for most difficult turns but I made sure I hit the apexes and nailed my exit speeds. I had no idea whether James' car was faster than mine or where his strengths were. I just knew if I backed off I'd see seconds drop from my gap. The biggest break I got was when James flew past me at the end of lap 4 while I was in the pits. My tires were only at 75% but I knew lap times were going to drop fast. I'd rather chase someone down than risk the whole race on one set of tires. I went into the pits 8 seconds up and came out 16 seconds behind. By the end of lap 5 i had whittled the gap down to 8 seconds...and then I saw James pit...which put me 16 seconds ahead. So fresh tires for one lap yielded me an additional 8 second buffer. James pushed hard though and I ran fast but safe. He closed the gap down to about 5 seconds by the end of the race, making up the time he lost on bad tires plus a little bit more. He kept me honest on every sector. I think it would have been a very different race had James qualified right near me and been able to draft me around the track.

We ran a quick race at Suzuka afterward, his car is much quicker out of the turns. I've got a SC but my tall gearing makes the car sluggish out of the corners. It will be tough to chase him down next week after he installs more upgrades.

Had I started a bit closer to the front and not last...I think I could have been with James when he exited the pits. With the speed I have over him...I think I could have hung in there for an exciting race for 2nd. I settled instead into following Wiifreak for 3.9 laps before making the draft pass just late enough so he couldnt get around me again.

Yeah, about a lap after pit I figured out why you had to leave me, glad you did! Almost didn't have an IKEA member on podium.

Sorry about that. If you were faster than me through the corners and it was just a matter of pulling you down the straight, I would have hung back longer. Then I saw Wiifreak coming back to us and knew he was running a 3/4 strategy. Since I only came out about 8-10 seconds behind him, I knew I'd catch him within a lap if I chased and if any FF car were to podium, the only car I'd accept would be mine. I entertained thoughts of winning when I saw that a 7'59 was leading the qualifying knowing I could break that time by several seconds on my own. Hell pushing the Golf every time it was safe we managed to get under it.

Then I started last, I knew winning was out. I gained roughly 13-14 seconds on the lead time up till I pit on lap 3 then the last 4 laps gained an additional 10, but I was at the limit. Running Wiifreak's line was stressing the 🤬 out of me, and at one point in lap 6 I let him get about 5-6 seconds ahead of me. Took me till the first carosel in lap 7 to close the gap back. I shredded my tires to the point that when I got around him before the final straight, I couldnt hold the line through the next corner, nearly causing me an accident and several positions lost. The good thing is I'm a much better follower then leader.

PS: It was nice to hear Snoopy recognize that last season. 👍

I was only running fast enough to maintain the gap between james and I. I ran mostly 7:59-8:00 laps. I never once had to late brake into the difficult turns. I think if you had pushed hard the whole race you might have caught me, or at least forced me to run my best laps at the end.

How many performance points were you at? I was right at 450.

451 PP when the race ended. If I started near the front, since I was able to run flying 7'55s w/o the spoiler and 7'57-8 with it, I think I'd have pressed you with the draft. However you could have pit on lap 4 and chasing was killing my tires. I would have pressed and definately needed to pit on lap 3. (In my own lounge the night before, I was completing 4 lap racing w/o pitting easily, but I was also just running 8'05-8'10 laps. I do believe we (Wiifreak and I) were closing in on James during lap 4 and 5, but we would not have caught him and again, at that point, I had only the goal of passing Wiifreak.

Yeah, well James waited until the end of lap 5 to pit...which I think was a mistake.

I never bothered to run without the spoiler. I've got it on to keep the rear end planted on those fast turns. I was 450pp with it maxed at 20. I guess I should experiment with it for Suzuka to see if I can get by without it...but in the rain I think it will help...if only I could make an on-the-fly adjustment to the downforce in the pits.

In any case, 7'55 is very impressive. Not sure if my car would do that...but with a top speed of 185 mph, I think my transmission wasn't helping. I topped out at 145-148 on the straight.

Sub 8 was impressive, but I could only produce 1 lap at that pace. My next lap would be 5 seconds slower, than ten seconds....and so on. Through those practice races, I found that if I started with a solid 8 flat to 8'05, I could run that time for 3 laps with the forth being only 8'10-13. If I started sub 8 pace, I would be running my fourth lap 8'15+.

I was able to hit 161 on the straight. I had the spoiler on, but the downforce was at 5 which allowed the tail end to break loose on fading tires. BIG 👍

Yes, this is a Double post, but its super duper Important!

The Doc and Marty showed up about an hour ago and together we drove off into the future.
Needless to say, but it wasnt pretty

Could be MMK or Galkazoid, not too sure. I asked the garage and they mentioned a terrible mess under overcast skies. What we do know is that the accident was multicar and there were no other survivors. :nervous:

Keep on high alert. I was lucky enough to snag this pick just between her chassis and engine refresh. She needed a lot of refreshing! The other cars... were not so lucky.

I was on my way to the bank this morning and came across this MR-S parked in front of a...wait for it, nope you're wrong, animal hospital. Not too sure of its actual, but I couldnt pass the opportunity to snag a pic. Drove back home and grabbed my camera. The rest is history!

crossposting from Tuesday thread...

Alright, so it seems that my PS3 has bit the dust and I really can't afford a new one right now. It's way out of warranty by now since I got it at launch.

I obviously can't race tonight, and unless some miracle occurs I'll be withdrawing from the rest of the season

Hope to be back for next season, have fun out there.
