Let's demand a "Spec-4" to taste some of GT5

What, exactly, will demanding it achieve?

Furthermore, how is it supposed to achieve anything when you're posting it here? We aren't PD...

This is the GT community right? I mean there should be some ppl from PD watching all over us.

Well according to some members, demanding is what got damage into GT5 in the first place.

And where better to get support for something than amongst a group of fans?

It's true that it wouldnt be hard to update Prologue with a few cars and a track. I just dont think they will, same reason game demo's have restrictions, got to hold some stuff back

GT5P is a step up from a demo. It has more than a typical game demo and it costs as much as a game.

They could give a little bit more back to the loyal fans that are currently lining PDs pockets.

Push Push Push:)) Benny benassy

There won't be Spec 4-dont waste your time.

Push me and then just touch me til I can get my Satisfaction.

By the way I think a Spec 4 Update is a waste of time, but maybe if they released the 458 Italia along with the GT-R Spec V for download for GT5P that would be a bit to.. I dont know, tide us over..?

I don't believe there will be a Spec 4 update either, to be honest it would be rather worthless at the current point in time because of the fact that GT5P does not have nearly as many players as it used to a few months ago. I'd rather PD focused purely on GT5 than the current game.

Instead of a full blown GT5P update, why not just give us the TGS demo? That shouldn't be hard to do, I'm pretty sure...Ohh and that demo would already give all of us a good taste of GT5 IMO

I assume if you want a spec IV update then you have GT5p. The event update included a 20 lap F2007 race around Suzuka! What else do you need? If we get a F2007 race at a different track each month then my 6 month wait will be quite a pleasurable wait. Granted my arms are wore out and I am all sweaty, but this is exactly what I love and exactly what I'll be doing once GT5 is released.

1)Suzuka 2)Fuji 3)Daytona Road 4)HSR Forward 5)HSR Reverse 6)Daytona Road= 6 months of happiness.

That's exactly what I asked at page3... I'd be happy with that.

I doubt any of that would happen, not because I want to but because positivity and PD just don't seem to work well together.

I'd count on it staying as "closed doors" demo and nothing more. :guilty:

I agree, and i think they should at least release the tgs demo, which wouldn't take up any time so they can keep making gt5

It's a GT community.

You never know.

Demanding it is fine. Getting support for it is fine. But it's all a waste of effort until you do something about it. Posting here isn't doing something about it.

how about this:
On several occasions (Nuerburgring 24h, iirc LeMans too) they had similar setups like those at gamescom and tgs, but instead of gt5 demo it was packed with a version of gt5p with the nordschleife as a track.
I cant see how this as a possible spec 4 could delay gt5 to an extent, that it realy matters..
I mean its basical just the paperworks. all the technical side obviously has been done, so why not bring this to the public? Properly communicated, this also could in one way be beneficial for gt5ps platinum editions sales and in another way work out as some kind of "redemption" for this utterly unexpected "change of plans".
Cant speak for u guys, but seeing the - in my opinion - extraordinary good ratio of invest and benefit here - for all partys, pd, sony and us fans - im excited just by the idea ofracing those cars round the legendary Nord, hunting for fastest laps. I would be easily be occupied for those 6 months.

Actually yea come to think of it im sure it was £20, i just couldnt remeber.

I've spent alot more than £20 on games with less content and less lifespan than GT5P also

For those just wanting the TGS demo, I can't see why. You have one track and very few cars to choose from. While I like R246, to most it's kind of a boring track. I completed the Forza 3 demo in a few hours, and now it's worthless to me, and this is what the TGS demo would most likely be like for you, a few hours of fun. There's a lot more to play with in Prologue, but if you've quit playing that, what makes you think the TGS demo would entertain you for more than a day?

But a good Spec IV update would get people involved in playing it again, if you merged the TGS demo with Prologue and gave it some of the online features of GT5. The Subaru damage would have to be taken out, since it only really applies to the Subaru, but I don't think it would take more than two weeks work to do this.

It may not happen, and I wouldn't cry if it didn't. I'll have FW3 to tide me over till GT5 shows up.

I think a release of the TGS demo would be the easiest/most logical thing to do. Its already done, they just need to post it on the PSN for download. An update to GT5:P would be nice but its not worth the time. The TGS demo may not get people playing online again, but it would be a better way to get some new GT fans. If Sony required some modification to the demo to be approved for download then PD should just post it on the GT:TV service for free so everyone with GT5:P could at least get it.

Look: A SpecIV including Nurburgring, La Sarthe, Tokyo and 5 cars would take less than 2 days. If they publish it as DLC for 5$ Sony and PD would take a lot of money. So I dont see why not

There should be no such update. I would like them to finish this game before 2012. :D

An update will just prolong the release. Since there is developmental time that has to be spend in a SPEC IV update. Keep your eye on the ball, per se.

I'm of two minds here, i want another track, i hate Suzuka, High speed ring is not really that fun because all the corners are similar, and Fuji gets a little repetitive. Adding Tokyo R246 to the online would not take much time, but adding cars, well the TGS demo was made on a slightly different engine, with new physics, i think transferring the cars would take longer. I want some kind of an update, but i don't want the release date to be pushed back anymore :/

Patience is the best way forward, just let them finish it, we will get to play it in time...

No, I think to integrate it into Prologue would take about a week, and then a week or less to test out. But all that content could be five gigabytes or more, and many of us who downloaded GT HD around the world had to try many, many times because it would fail at any point, and I think it was less than two gigs.

We may not get a Spec IV, but I don't think anyone would complain about a two week delay in GT5 for that.

TGS demo could be released, but i dont think the new build could be put up as DLC to GT5P.I reckon they have changed the game so much from prologue that theyre not compatable

Yup, that's what I thought too. I think the current build/engine they're working on now for GT5 is much different than GT5P. I doubt they would pause GT5's development so they could backtrack to GT5P's quality and then give us spec 4. I think they really meant it when GT5P's development is over. Releasing a demo would take less effort I think.

So your mad that there is a delay, and you voice it by demanding something that would surely make GT5 come out later?

Is my idea that stupid or did noone read it?
